Thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge breeds at their show, and to my 2 capable stewards who kept the ring flowing nicely. Thanks to the exhibitors who braved the forecast, we were lucky with the weather in the end.

Appealed in head, slightly rounded skull of good width, moderate stop, dark eye, high set ears and good furnishings. Strength in neck, well laid shoulders, good forechest, well boned legs. Deep in chest, ribbed well back and well sprung. Good rear end with muscle and correct angulation. Moved well.
2nd Mallison & McLaughlin’s Woodybrook Guy. 14 month old dog who needs a bit of time to settle and come into his own. Good head and neck. Appealed in body, which is developing nicely, OK for bone, good angulation. Movement hard to assess as he was rather exuberant.
Limit 1st Mallison & McLaughlin’s Woodybrook Guy – repeat of 2nd in Junior Movement was a little steadier in this class.

Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla
Puppy 1st BP PG2 Byrne’s Enryb Purple People Eater. A handsome puppy of 9 months. Appealed on the stack, everything flows together and fits as it should. Slightly rounded skull of good breadth, correct balance in foreface and well placed eye of good colour, correct well set ears. Lovely well pigmented big nose and good muzzle. Moderate neck showing strength sets cleanly into well laid, muscular shoulders. Correct upper arm, well boned and good feet. Depth to brisket and ribbed well back. Powerful rear, well muscled and correctly angled and low hocks allowed for scopey ground covering movement. Lovely harsh coat.
Limit 1st Nokes’ Hosokter Tisza at Goldpaw. Lovely bitch of 10 years. Built on a slightly larger frame but balanced. Correct head and expression, good neck into shoulders. Held her topline most of the time stacked but was rock solid on the move. Balanced angulation fore and aft. Still in excellent condition and muscle for age which showed on the move, where she was steady and true. What a lovely girl.
Open 1st BOB Byrne’s Sh Ch Aldozovolgyi Drotos Nyuzsgo at Enryb JW (Imp Hun). Bitch of 8 years, substantial yet feminine. Different in type to 2nd. Balanced outline. Lovely head, neck and forechest. Irish Setter
Puppy 1st BP PG3 Holehan’s Loganrish Amber Delights. Bitch of almost 12 months and won this class on overall balance. Beautiful long head and refined expression, lovely coat coming in, depth to body, well laid shoulders and corresponding return of upper arm. Level topline and good profile movement but rather untidy coming towards, although I expect that will improve as she develops. Good legs and feet.
2nd Holehan-Green, Green & Sleby’s Loganrish Winter Pearl Moon. 7 month baby who is at an awkward development stage and therefore not presenting the overall balanced picture of first. Preferred her more collected movement, and her good tail set and carriage over first.
Junior 1st Hemmings’ Orlanset Slave to Love. Dog of 14 months and moved better than his sister today. Both are similar as one would expect and present lovely outlines when stacked. Appealing head, OK front, level topline, good rear and moved on good legs and feet although didn’t have a much forward reach as his sister. Good tail set and carriage.
2nd Hemmings’ Orlanset Angel Eyes. Bitch who is developing as expected. Appealed in head and expression, arched neck and lovely forehand assembly, deep narrow chest, good ribs. Moving a little close behind today, she could strengthen in hock, but time is on her side and she held her topline at all times.
Limit 1st BOB Holehan’s Loganrish Tiger Lilly Pearl JW. Bitch of 2 years who ticked all the boxes today to win BOB in good company. Well presented, balanced profile when stacked, didn’t disappoint on the move. Beautiful lean head and moderately arched, muscular neck, clean throat. Deep chested, good long ribs and short loin. Balanced angulation front and rear, and moved positively with style on well boned legs and neat feet. Wrapped up in a glorious coat to complete the picture.
Open 1st Cohen’s Lynwood Merry May King with Shushana. 6 year old dog who won the class on movement. Moderate size, good head, neck and shoulder, deep, narrow chest, well ribbed, balanced angulation and held his topline well on the move and drove round the ring well. Good tail and beautiful coat.
2nd Holehan’s Loganrish Tiger Warrior JW. Thought this boy would be my winner but he let himself down on the move where he was erratic and dropping his topline. Looked the picture when stacked up. Larger all through than first, appealing head, correct forehand and lovely rear and good feet. Nice lad.

Powerful arched neck, sloping shoulders, deep chest, well boned legs and large feet. Well sprung ribs, carried well back to deep loin, level topline. Wrapped in a lovely harsh dense coat.

2nd Keeffe’s Keebank Platinum Queen. Bitch also 3 years. Built on a slightly larger frame than 1st. Correct head and keen expression. Not as positive on the move being a shade close behind today and not holding her topline at all times.

Open 1st Keeffe’s Keebank Just in Time. Dog of 6 years. Lovely type and good substance. Correct otter head, dark eye and nose. Clean neck into correct topline which is held on the move, good set on of tail. Good bone and neat feet, moved well.
2nd Hardman’s Bonosue Lee Van Cleef at Spanwise. 2 year old dog who was not at all keen on moving today. Really liked his type and appealed greatly in head. Ok topline but hard to assess on the move as he was most reluctant. Beautiful harsh dense coat.
