GUILDFORD AND DISTRICT CS 01 MAR 25 ENGLISH SETTER J 4(0) 1. Wynne-Evans’ Walshaw Let’s Dance for Droveborough. RBOB. 16 month old bitch, liked her for size, height and overall shape, very kind eye and expression and femineity in abundance, showed very well. 2. Kerr’s Latjeata Angel Blue. BP. 6 month old youngster, good size scores at the rear benefits from plenty of rib for one so young, topline needs to strengthen a little but that will come in time, gave a good account considering age. 3. Beasley’s Latjeata Cup of Kindness. O 2(0) 1. Beasley’s Wensleydale Amaretto at Latjeata. BOB. A veteran bitch who struck me immediately, superb coat and condition for age, a lovely eye, perhaps a touch long in body for my preference but balanced angles to the fore and rear and scores in correct body and bone. 2. Williams’ Richecca Midwinter. Upstanding exhibit lovely neck, good front assembly, super feet, a little upright in front compared to 1, sound fore and aft but not as fluid as 1 going around, but much to like and a pleasure to judge. IRISH RED & WHITE SETTER J 1(1) PG 2(1) 1. McDonald, R, S & T Roanjora Cremant De Savoie Avec Eusanit JW. 20 month old male, beautifully handled and presented, so clean and ground covering on the move, profile is of great appeal, good bone, lovely ribs and appealing head with correct sound dentition. BOB. Open 2(2) LAGOTTO ROMAGNOLO J 3(0) 1. Norbury/Adkins-Fry’s Bedeslea Pradasphere. BP. 6 month old bitch showed well correct proportions super rear end, she was the best in the class on the move fore and aft, good strong dentition, correct head shape and proportions, more to come from this one I am sure. 2. Cuddy’s Bedeslea Prada Paradoxe. Litter brother to 1 appreciated the bone and forechest on this one, lovely feet and moved well, coping particularly well with the unsual surface, good quality coat already emerging. 3. Bishop’s Bedeslea Prada Linea Rossa. PG 3(0) 1. Stephenson’s Made Chianti for Timtaurn JW. RBOB. I awarded this one BP at WELKS 2024 and I am delighted that the early promise is in existence, so sound, so well off for rib and body, with a superb coat in great condition and showed well, fought hard for BOB but lost out to the more mature exhibit unfortunately. 2. Norbury/Adkins-Fry’s Bedeslea Pradasphere. As before. 3. Whitworth’s Mad Max Madiba of Freworth (imp ITA) JW. O 2(0) 1. Roberts’ Havana King of The Truffles to Byphar. BOB. Unassuming rustic exhibit perhaps not the most eye catching but soundness and type, liked the size and shape and rusticness of this one, had the most appealing personality and disposition took BOB on maturity. 2. Worrall’s Moonreed Drake. A very flashing and eye catching exhibit that’s hard to look beyond, tail set detracts a little but scores in bone and has a profuse coat, well presented but not as settled as 1 on the move or stack. RETRIEVER (FLAT COATED) P 3(0) 1. Phipps-Baker/Baker’s Maddouse Never Too Much. BP. Lovely happy pup, a really promising prospect, well off for body and rib balanced to the fore and rear with a lovely head and cheeky irresistible expression, coat quality coat emerging. 2. Durrant’s Glenturret Wet My Whistle. Upstanding male, a little longer than 1 in body, strong topline for one so young, scores in neck and shoulders with a quality head and expression. 3. Young’s Gemswin Just Like Heaven at Larksburn. J 1(0) Bell’s Curlycrest’s Sweet Home Chicago (imp NOR). BOB. Stood alone but struck me as quality through and through gives an overall impression of balance, super personality which makes him a great show doh, he is I suspect just coming into his own, good bone, strong body and moved very well. PG 3(0) 1. Bell’s Curlycrest’s Sweet Home Chicago (imp NOR). 2. Woodhams’ Kulawand Casanova. Much to like about this one and pushed 1 all the way, just not quite as showy today which cost him, lovely feet and correct head and eye, he is sound and clean on the move, just lacked a little enthusiasm. 3. Rillie’s Lizzlog Sweet Talking Guy. O 1(0) 1. Bowen’s Clandrift Bring Me Sunshine JW Kcwgc. RBOB. 2.5 year old male, well off for angulation to fore and rear, lovely shape and substance, and moved with gusto on the challenging surface, just not in the best of coats, which meant he gave way to the gleaming youngster in the challenge. WEIMARANER P 1(0) 1. Anderson’s Gunalt Gift of The Gab JW. BP & BOB My goodness what a bundle of promise this youngster is, already showing like a veteran, she gives the image of power, stamina and balance but with real class and femineity to boot. A bright future awaits, I am sure. J 1(0) 1. Moll’s Akwamar Back Street Girl. Well presented bitch, good amount of bone and lovely tight feet, coat of correct colour and texture, lacks a little depth to her body which would otherwise complete the picture, may well come in time. PG 2(1) Moll’s Akwamar Back Street Girl. O 2(1) 1. Braine’s Ansona Dream Big JW. I judged this chap when he was a youngster and on the stack he’s fulfilled his early promising, so typical, in super condition, classic silhouette, great coat and colour. On the move however, as much as I admired him, he appears to such little interest in showing off what I am sure is a sound easy stride and sadly therefore his was denied higher honors. AV GRADUATE STAKES 1. Knight’s Moraines Lysander. Leonberger. Was the first to walk into the class and owned the ring from then on, upstanding, determined and oh so sound, on a particularly challenging surface, beautifully handled and presented, shown in first class order. 2. Taubman’s Meonstoke Wild Thyme. Spaniel (English Springer). Not as bold as 1 but so much to like in this elegant exhibit, beautiful coat and colour not mistaking the breed or gender, shown in first class order and sympathetically handled to full advantage. 3. Watts’ Oakmarsh Little Acorn JW Ratn. Retriever (Chesapeake Bay). JENNIFER MILLARD
