Crowther – Ronaldsbill Mystical Fire – 10 month Bitch, excellent head and expression with dark eye and correct bite. Moved well, just needs to mature and body up. BP, RBOB

Smith – Glenmaurangi Apollo at Glenkinchie – 2 year old male of good proportion, with clear tan. Masculine head with dark eye and correct bite, moved soundly BOB

1 Reay – Drurylowe Sage – Brown and white 8 month dog . Correct shape of head and earset, mouth correct, good amount of bone, Round feet and moved OK keeping top line. BP

1 Bovio – Star at Station – Nice Bitch with correct feminine head, earset good, good bite, proportions correct. Harsh coat good outline when she moved. Moved very well.

2 Hodgson – Osulf Peanut Nutmeg – Feminine bitch who moved OK.C

Postgraduate (3,0)

1 Bovio – Liked this girl, she moved with drive. Feminine head with, correct planes and earset, bite good. RBOB

2 Hodgson – Osulf Chocolate Biscuit – Longer cast bitch preferred top line on 1. Head OK with correct bite. Moved OK.

1 James – SH CH Inostricani Fianna ShCEx – Beautiful orange roan bitch who caught the eye immediately and owned the ring. Head shape and planes were spot on with lovely soft eye and correct bite. On the move she came into her own with good reach and drive and keeping a perfect top line. With well laid back shoulders. Good amount of bone and she was solid and muscled throughout. All set on strong round feet. BOB, BIG and BIS

2 – Bovio – Ilsolo River Island JW – Unlucky to meet 1 today as she too is a lovely bitch with good head, bite and expression. Good bone and moved well without the ease of 1.

1 Tolladay – Chanangel Yorkshire Ale with Bethersden – l / w dog won this class on movement His reach,drive and top line were a joy together with a masculine head with soft expression, dark eye, clean throat, correct bite and good earset. Deep liver, fine coat with very little wave were the icing on the cake. BOB

2 Topliss – Beresford Stand on Ceremony – very feminine bitch, with lovely sweet expression, correct bite and dark eye. Very elegant but not the movement of 1

3 Lillie – Eastriding Royal Rose

Postgraduate (6,4)

1 Hoare – Lymnoares Ode to Memory – Well balanced Bitch with correct head shape and earset, would prefer a more almond eye. Correct mouth. Moved well. RBOB

2 Unwin – Allenies Lady Marmalade – preferred her head and eye to 1 but would like more length of body. Moved OK

1 Topliss – Beresford Stand on Ceremony – see previous critique Yearling

2 Boole – Plaiglen Raggs to Riches – b/w bitch pleasant head with dark eye, correct bite, excellent tight round feet, sound on move and kept a good top line.

Beagle

A lovely quality entry of sound temperaments as is necessary in a working hound, shame some of their owners weren’t the same. Just remember the judges decision is final.

Puppy (6)

1 Bridgeman & Logue – Kingswin Gifted – 6 month Bitch who was exactly what I was looking for, she was definitely fit for function. She was well boned and compact and moved with reach and drive covering the ground with ease and elegance and keeping her top line. Very typical feminine head with a lovely expression, correct mouth. Tight well knuckled feet. She pushed very hard for BOB but beaten by maturity. BP, RBOB

2 Arden – Madika Shine On – Another promising puppy with similar attributes to 1 she was beaten by movement on the day.

3 Hardisty – Blunderhall Heaven Scent

Yearling (6,1)

1 Hunt – Bondlea Cherished – a nice bitch with good bone, beautiful head and expression, correct bite and big nose. For me not as compact as I would like, but had the best reach and drive in this class.

2 Halse & Griffin – Very nice young bitch with correct mouth, eye and ear. Feminine expression. Moved well.

3 Coates – Gladstyle Carmen Collected

Postgraduate (4)

1 Hardisty – Blunderhall Jackson JW – A quality boy who stood out in this class, so well balanced with masculine head but not overdone, mouth correct, lovely earset, compact with good bone and moved soundly.

2 Bridgeman & Logue – Kingswin Celeste – 6 month bitch with a lovely head, correct bite and melting expression, she too moved well with drive.

3 Coates – Gladstyle Bluebell

1 Coates – Gladstyle Stone Mason – My notes say “A hound that could do a days work”. Super head, Masculine but not coarse, correct bite. Moved and covered the ground with power and drive. Lovely strong tight feet. He was compact without being cobby, well muscled. BOB

2 Arden – Annavah Star Above Madika AW(S) – Feminine bitch with excellent head shape and well balanced body, moved very well.

3 Dawson & Goodall – Rundle Gambler

1 Doughty – Rubiltra Farshirovannaya – Lightwheaten 11month dog good headed, dark eye with correct bite and big teeth. Elegant boy who moved effortlessly but with drive, tight feet. BP

Yearling (3,1)

1 Abbaszadeh & Hanson – Dukusa Miss Sweet Dream and Ilizulu – Good head with dark eye and correct bite, good feet but nails need attention. Correct ridge. Moved Ok.

2 Hancock – StasimelsieAswagandha – a sweet bitch but lacking in substance and strength, Head OK, dark eye, mouth correct. Moved OK. Feet OK but yet again nails need attention. Good ridge.

Postgraduate (3,1)

1 Thomas-Bassett – Fiadma’s Stiggens at Skyleridge – 2 year old male with masculine head, good dark eye, and correct bite. Good ridge and nice tight feet. Moved with drive and purpose.

2 Hancock – Stasimelsie Mace – nice bitch but lacking in Head qualities, dark eye, correct bite. Good ridge. Not the movement of 1.

This class was the best of the day, quality throughout, on another day they could change placings.

1 Cox,Cox & Musgrave – Carlincox Don’t Knock It JW– Young bitch Red wheaten who screamed look at me when she entered the ring, not as big as some, but what there is is quality. She has a strong feminine head, with good earset, correct mouth with large teeth, the darkest of eyes that dare you to ignore her, leading to an elegant neck and excellent layer back shoulders with well muscled hindquarters without looking coarse. Tight arched feet. Her movement and conformation enabled her to flow elegantly round the ring holding a good top line, with power. BOB,BIG

2 Pearce – Kinyemi Song of Serengeti SepiwiSekayi JW For Msingi(IMP DNK) – Strong Masculine Dog with such an appealing Head and expression, Dark eye, with correct bite, wonderful tight arched feet, powerful movement with drive and purpose. Unlucky to meet 1 today it was a close decision hence I awarded him RBOB.

1 Smith & Goddard-Smith – Starceylon Tosca for Neviwish – 6 month old bitch with sweet feminine alert expression. Tight neat feet. Well laid back shoulder and strong pasterns, chest deep with good arch over strong loin. Powerful but elegant hindquarters. Moved very well both in profile and going away. BP

2 Cooper – Ballauren’s You Got It – Larger type with similar attributes to 1 but was just beaten on movement and top line.

3 Memmott-Richardson – Naamsacre Sumersault

Yearling (5,1)

1 Lowe & Wilcox – Barnesmore Lamour Dune Mere of Jevobhn – Feminine bitch with good head, bite and expression,good neck length with lovely layback of shoulder leading to elegant arch over loin. Well muscled hindquarters which enabled her powerful drive on the move. Tight arched feet. BOB

2 Newton – Nevedith Hi Jinks – Another very feminine and elegant bitch, who caught the eye in profile. Although she too had a good head bite and expression I slightly preferred the head of 1. Neck elegant and led to a well laid back shoulder with good arch and strong hindquarters. Moved very well on tight feet. Close decision hence awarding her RBOB

3 Hope – Flerrow Rydings Romances

Postgraduate (1)

1 Smith & Goddard-Smith – Edenwhip Love at First Sight for Neviwish – Good type of dog with correct expression and earset, mouth good, moved very well and stood on good feet. Presented a good outline.

Open (4,2)

1 Hope – Demerlay On a Promise – Nice type although on the larger size with good head, eye and expression, good top line,moved OK,

2 Davidson – Mr Nibbles of The Mistal – 9 month dog who is very immature, good head and bite, not enough muscle tone to enable good movement so poor on the move.

AVNSC Hound

Puppy(6,1)

1 Leech – Mochras Mahlord Rupert – Basset Fauve De Bretagne. Good outline on the stand with correct headshape, oval eye and correct earset, mouth correct. Good bone and tight feet. Dense harsh coat moved well. BP

2 Crosse – Cairnstorm Lullaby – Irish Wolfhound. Beautiful head, dark eye and well set ear. Nice layback of shoulder with good bone and muscle but needs more time to get herself together very promising youngster.

3 Woodcock – Abbotsoak A Lil Bit Naughty – Ibizan Hound

Postgraduate (8,2)

1 Watson & Kenna – Cynetkoy Charle Brown – PBGV. Good head and expression, correct earset and length, bite good. Shoulders laid well back and kept top line on move, which he did with cockiness as well as reach and drive.

2 Porter – Ottaryx Chaos (AI) – Otterhound. Lovely Headed bitch, with correct bite, dark eye which gave her a calm expression. Good harsh outer coat with close undercoat. Her effortless drive on the move was a joy.

3 Sands Parker – Heart and Soul JP Nashua Classicus (IMP JPN) – Saluki (BP- AVNSC)

1 Clare – CH Donskoi Groza at Russmechta – Borzoi – This boy fit the expression aristocratic to a tee. He was masculine but with elegance. His head was so typical of the breed, with correct bite and dark alert eyes this flowed into an arched neck that led to a well laid-back shoulder and top line then rose in a good curve down to well muscled hindquarters. All of which meant that his movement was effortless but powerful. Presented to perfection, not surprised to find out he is a champion. BOB

2 Strudwick – ArmardioRide Like The Wind Among Kumamatata JW – Basset Hound – What a fine example of his breed. He caught my eye immediately full of substance but moving with positivity. Head was substantial with a large nose, dark appealing eye and correct earset and length. Solid and muscular body with good bone and large feet. When moved he was so powerful, true and free, for such a large body frame. Unlucky to meet 1 today.

1Binnersley & Tomkinson – Xtreme Mr President V D Mergelhoeve at Morthound (IMP NDL) – Black and Tan Coonhound – This boy had the most stunning masculine head, clean and strong with a strong under jaw and deep flews, dark intelligent eye and big nose. Absolutely correct large ears set on low. Big, tight arched feet with strong pasterns. Powerful well muscled body with slightly sloping croup. What movement so solid yet elegant and true he floated around the ring. HG2

Veteran (10,3)

A strong class of Veterans

1 Porter – Ottaryx Quinevere – Otterhound. Feminine but strong girl with a lovely headshape, dark eye big ears and good earset, good bite, correct harsh waterproof coat. Strong neck with good layback of shoulder, well muscled loin and strong hindquarters, plenty of bone and good pasterns. On the move she defied her age and showed that she would still be able to work as she was bred for. BVIG, RBVIS.

2 Taylor – CH Abbotsoak Carousel JW ShCEx OSW – Ibizan Hound. Beautiful girl who was unlucky to meet 1 today. Wonderful head and expression with good earset and correct bite. Arched neck leading to good shoulders and top line. Elegant and true on the move, she filled the eye.

3 Paskins – Cedavoch It’s Taboo at Kindeace VW – SLH dachshund.
