Liskeard & District Canine Association

Thank you to Liskeard & District Canine Association for inviting me to judge my very first

JHA and adult handling classes at their Premier show.

JHA 6-11 -5 ENTERED 2 ABSENT

1

st Kaycee-Mae Turton

Handling a dachshund, she entered the ring correctly. Did a full lap and stood her dog

correctly. She kept me in her sights at all times during the class. She executed her

triangle with precise and neat cornering. She then returned to her position, standing her

dog correctly until I focused on the next exhibitor. Just be conscious of your distance

from a judge, on returning from a triangle.

2

nd Evie-May Smart

What a team. Focused at all times on where I was stood. Answered questions correctly

and precisely. Was repositioning dogs’ foot when I moved it. Did her triangle with ease

but the corners were a little bit rounded. This was all that split 1 and 2.

JHA 12-16 - 5 ENTERED ALL PRESENT

1

st Harriet DuƯield handling a JRT and what a team. Confident young lady, exact and

precise in all I asked. From her shadowing, her reverse T, corners accurate and correct

pace for the dog. She was focused on where I was at all times.

2

nd Lula Stower handling a Briard. Absolutely wonderful connection between the two. A

pleasure to watch. Another who knew exactly where I was at all times. Pattern work

executed well and precisely.

In this class it was hard decision between 1 and 2. So re-ran the 2 again and it was just

the final presentation that clinched it for Harriet.

ADULT HANDLING 17-35 - 5 ENTERED 3 ABSENT

1

st Paige Edens handling a dalmatian. What a wonderful handler. One I have watched

and admired for a long time. Patterning flawless and very precise. Correct shadowing,

excellent rapport with her charge and others in the ring. Just a tad close to judge on

presentation after her pattern work.

2

nd Trinity Davies handling a dalmatian. Entered the ring correctly and was aware of me

all around the ring. There was slight hesitation before carrying out her pattern work but

when going, it was executed correctly. Another just a tad too close on presentation after

pattern work.

ADULT HANDLING 36-55 - 4 ENTERED 4 ABSENT

ADULT HANDLING 56+ - 4 ENTERED ALL PRESENT

1

st Hayley Davies handling a dalmatian. Correctly entered the ring. Knew exactly where I

was at all times. Pattern work executed well. Correct answers to the questions asked.

Another 2 close on individual finish.

2

nd Cindy Stangroom handling a very young cocker spaniel. Once settled, she shadowed

well but not the consistency of 1st. Executed her triangle correctly, a little close on final

presentation. Answered all questions correctly.
