Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to express my gratitude to the officers and the committee for their kind invitation to judge at this well-organized and friendly show. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the exhibitors who braved the cold; I was truly impressed with the quality of the dogs presented. They are all a tremendous credit to you.

Rhodesian Ridgeback

Post Graduate (1,0)

1. Mr & Mrs Hall - Msingi Fancy That At Cynami JW

Quality 15-month-old red wheaten bitch who has an impressive outline when standing. She demonstrates good strength throughout while still maintaining her femininity. Her head and expression are pleasing, and she has a good length of neck that flows into a well-held topline, complemented by a well-formed ridge and crowns. She stands on well-boned limbs and has tight feet. She effectively uses her strong quarters to drive around the ring. - BOB

Jack Russell Terrier

1. Miss Donnelly - Calavey’s Abu

Smart 3-year-old tri-coloured dog with a lovely outline. When standing, he presents a balanced appearance, and he shows himself off to advantage. He has a stronger head, with dark almond shaped inquisitive eyes, and neat ears. His body is well developed, holding a firm topline, with a well-set, and carried tail. He moves cleanly in all directions with a good coat texture. BOB

2. Miss Grimes - Twinan Wild Child At Ansona

It was a close decision between these two, as both exhibited lovely qualities. This 4-year-old White and Tan bitch is workmanlike, with nothing being overdone. She had a feminine head of good proportions, dark eyes that conveyed a keen expression, and well-placed ears. Her neck was of good length, flowing into a firm topline and was easy to span. Today, I just preferred the winner's rear movement, but it was nitpicking. Well shown and presented.

Airedale Terrier

Open (2,0)

1. Mrs Fearnhead - Settlebeck Royal Flush JW

Upstanding and impressive 3-year-old dog with a typical terrier attitude, and made his presence felt. When stacked, he shows a pleasing outline and is of a nice size, exhibiting both substance and masculinity. His head is well-balanced, featuring a dark, mischievous eye and well-placed ears. He has a well-developed body with good depth in the brisket, maintaining a firm topline that leads to a well-set tail with good carriage. His quarters are strong, with low-set hocks. Moving freely and with precision. Presented in excellent condition with a super jacket. – BOB & Gp2

2. Ms Shields - Shielmarh Fortuna Forseer

I liked the overall stamp of this 4-year-old bitch, she has good proportions and balance. Her head is well proportioned, with a good length of foreface and slight chiselling. She has a long neck and sufficient depth to the brisket, along with a well-sprung ribcage. Not as firm in the topline as the winner today. A steady mover and shows true rear action.

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Open (6,5)

1. Mrs Lui - Eblanahalls Gold Fascinus

At just six months old, this young lad caught my attention. He is impressively smart and compact, exhibiting excellent balance and body proportions, nothing about him is overdone. He has a pleasing head with a flat skull, a slight stop, and strength to the foreface. His dark eyes convey keen alertness, reflecting his adoration for his handler. He possesses a good length of neck that flows seamlessly into a firm topline, ending with a correctly set and carried tail that has plenty behind it. For his age, he has a nice depth to his brisket and stands on well-boned limbs. His coat is maturing nicely, of good colour and texture. Moves freely and positively, whilst holding his outline. Delighted to award him BP & BOB, Puppy Group 1 & BPIS

Dandie Dinmont Terrier

Post Graduate (2,0)

1. Mrs Miller - Dryfevalley Stella

2-year-old mustard bitch of a decent stamp. Liked her overall proportions and size. She has a feminine head that also displays the desired strength, with lovely large dark round eyes that give her a wise yet affectionate expression, complemented by a silky topknot. She has a good length of neck and is well-developed in the forechest, along with a deep brisket. She holds the correct topline and has a good tail carriage. While she appeared slightly wide when moving towards me, she demonstrated powerful movement from behind. She was presented with a crisp coat.

2. Mr Kendall - Dryfevalley Crumble

Another mustard bitch, who is a litter sister to the winner, and both share a similar profile when stacked. She performed well for her handler, and they have a lovely rapport. She has a pleasing head, showing strength while still retaining her femininity, with lovely dark eyes and well-placed ears. Her body is well developed, and she moves nicely both in front and behind. Not in quite as good coat condition as her sister today.
