I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this lovely show. We were blessed with perfect weather, dry and

sunny with a light breeze. The venue was ideal with lots of space for everyone, and good sized rings. A huge thank you must go to all the exhibitors for the pleasure of your lovely dogs, some tough choices to make.

Dachshund (Min Smooth)

1. Miss Smith - Brynfaw Grand Illusion

6 year old B&T bitch, she is of a nice overall size and has a shapely outline when stood. Well shaped head with a dark eye, well developed in forechest, elbow tight to the body, holding a firm topline both stood and on the move, with strong hindquarters. Showing drive on the move, with a good tail carriage - RBOB

2. Mrs Legg - Cazdachs Take It Easy

Smart outline on this 3 year old B&T bitch. Feminine head, good length of neck and well developed in front. Brisket is well let down, standing on well boned limbs. Ribs carried well back with muscular hindquarters. Unfortunately today not holding her topline as well as winner, but moving cleanly with drive

Fell for this 22 month old B&T dog, he has a lovely flow to his outline, impressive in his stature and balanced. Pleasing masculine head, taping nicely, a dark almond shaped eye with well placed and used ears. Well developed forechest, good length of neck flowing into a firmly held topline. Depth to the brisket and ribs carried well back. Strong muscular hindquarters which he used to power around the ring – BOB & Hound Group 2

2. Miss Smith - Deercroft Summer Encore

Ultra feminine 7 year old shaded red bitch. Conical shaped head, with a dark kind eye. Good length of neck, flowing cleanly into a firm topline and well set on tail. Well developed through the body. A happy mover, not quite the accuracy of the winner

1. Mrs Legg - Pettigans Va Va Voom

Lovely outline on this 20 month old B&T bitch, flowing from nose to tail. She is just right for size and balance. Feminine head, with a slight arch to the skull, good length to the foreface, and dark appealing eyes. Her neck is of good length, with a firm well held topline. Well developed through the body, with a good spring to the ribcage. Strong hammy quarters. A little unsettled on the move today, but showed to be true fore and aft. Put down in lovely coat and condition - RBOB

Liked the size, substance and femininity of this 3 year old shaded red bitch. Fully mature and showing herself off with confidence. Pleasing head shape, well proportioned and nicely tapering. Soft gentle expression from her dark almond eyes. Good length of neck, deep in brisket with a well developed prosternum. Length and spring to the ribcage, topline level both standing and on the move. Using her wide quarters to drive around the ring with her head held high – BOB & Hound Group 3

1. Mr & Mrs Elliott - Milendo Cream Touch

Most endearing 9 month old Black & Cream dog, showing off his happy and lively nature. He has good balance to his head. Lovely dark eye with a hint of mischief. Developing nicely through the body, breast bone prominent, standing on well boned limbs. He held his topline well on the move. Ribcage is nicely sprung, hindquarters show a width of thigh and good bend of stifle. A happy mover with a good tail carriage – BOB & BP

1. Mrs Crouch - Wyregait Dressed In Gold

Much to commend this 2 year old, W&T Wire Fox Terrier bitch, liked her compact outline and lovely body lines. She is impressive in her stature with a natural presence. She has a lovely head piece, good length to the muzzle, neat well placed ears and a dark intelligent eye. Good length of neck, flowing into a firm short muscular topline finishing with a high set tail. She has the right amount of depth to the chest. Hindquarters have a long thigh and short hock to heel. Presented in a coat of good wiry texture. Moving with precise and powerful strides. BOB & Terrier Group 1– Delighted to award her later in the day with RBIS

Loved the size, substance and femininity of this 2 year old black bitch, having lots of breed type. Pleasing head, of good length with a decent width, dark keen eyes well set under her eyebrows. Strong neck, liked her depth and well sprung ribcage. Holding a good topline both stood and on the move. Strong, wide hindquarters with a well turned stifle. Presented in harsh textured coat. Moved out purposefully – BOB & Terrier Group 4

6 year old black bitch, and mother to the BOB winner. Feminine but with strength, lovely bone and substance. Long head showing balance, erect fine ears, with dark almond shaped eye. Strong and muscular neck, nicely developed in forechest and deep in brisket. Well rounded ribcage, not as firm in topline as her daughter, coat in full bloom and of good texture - RBOB

Impressive outline on this 3 year old bitch. Compact in her outline and put down in lovely condition. Liked her head piece, nicely balanced, flat skull, and strength to the muzzle, dark inquisitive eyes. Clean lines as she flows from her neck and topline, which is firm and well held to a correctly set on tail. Good depth to the brisket and strong hindquarters. Moving out tidily – BOB & Terrier Group 3

Upstanding Irish Terrier dog coming up 3 years of age. He presents a shapely silhouette, with harmonious proportions. Masculine head with a flat skull, small neat well placed ears, and a dark eye giving that dirty and mischievous look! Good length of neck, nicely filled front, deep in brisket, straight forelegs onto well arched toes. Firm in his topline ending with a good tail set and carriage. Well presented in a harsh jacket. A tidy mover with positive footfall – BAVNSC & Terrier Group 2

2. Miss Mitchell - Chedanstaff Devil Star

6 year old black brindle SBT dog, stallion of a dog and all male. At the top end, a real powerhouse in superb muscular condition. Did like to play to fool at times, but when stood showed good overall balance and substance. Broad head, with well pronounced cheeks, dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Strong neck and deep in brisket, today losing his topline a fraction. Muscular quarters which he used to drive around the ring – RBAVNSC

A real credit to her owner, this Irish Terrier bitch at 12 years old can still show the young ones how to move. Still in super condition and showing herself off. She is balanced and unexaggerated and so very feminine. Good length to her head, and strength to the foreface, dark eyes and a keen expression. Liked her depth and for her age kept a good topline. Coming into her own on the move, with fore and aft being true and positive - BV

2. Miss Ruffles - Holbam Celtic Whisper At Ruffmar JW ShCM VW

Another Irish Terrier bitch in fine fettle, a mere youngster at coming up 10 years of age. Loved her bone and substance, but with feminine elegance. Pleasing head, with neat ears, and dark expressive eyes. Clean neck of good length, deep in chest with straight forelegs. Right amount of spring to the ribcage and moderate hindquarters. Could not match the precise movement of winner today. Shown with a harsh wiry jacket and well presented

Best In Show – Mrs Winfield – Oakcroft The Mandalorian JW (Shetland Sheepdog)

Thought that this 2 year old male Sable & White Shetland Sheepdog was just lovely. He presents an impressive and shapely outline. He shows himself of with confidence and aplomb and having the illusive sparkle to take him to the top spot. Super head, blunt wedge with dark almond shaped eyes, and neatly tipped ears giving a gentle expression. Well developed through the body, with depth to the brisket, holding a firm topline and nicely sprung ribs. Standing on well boned limbs and oval feet. Put down in super coat and condition. Moved out purposefully covering the ground with grace and drive

Reserve Best In Show - Mrs Crouch - Wyregait Dressed In Gold (Fox Terrier Wire)

Very smart and on her toes White & Tan, Wire Fox Terrier bitch. Keen and alert to all going on around her. Liked her well balanced head, with a flat skull, and good length to the foreface, dark eyes and neat small well placed ears. Having a clean neck of good length flowing into a firm and well held topline, her back which is short and level. Moved with good footfall and presented in a wiry coat

Best Puppy In Show – Mrs Clifton – Yakee King Of The Kop (Pekingese)

Super 11 month old, Fawn with a black mask, Peke dog who caught my eye. He presents a pleasing outline and does not disappoint when going over. Very masculine and handsome, good width to the skull, lovely dark round expressive eyes, wide nostrils. Body is well balanced, with strong bone, width to the chest and a good ribcage. Holding a firm topline with a good tail set and carriage. Typical in his movement, slow and very dignified. Put down in lovely coat and condition

Res Best Puppy In Show – Turvey & Murray – Meonstoke Wild Cherry At Harvancourt (ESS)

Happy birthday, a year old today and showed yourself off like an old pro! Very feminine L&W English Springer Spaniel bitch, who showed with style and self-assurance. Nicely balance head shape, with good length and strength to the foreface, with nice chiselling. Good length of neck flowing into a firm topline and good tail set. Moderate in her angulation fore and aft. Moved with purpose and drive

Best Veteran In show – Mrs Rice – Ch Ricox Somebody To Love JW ShCM ShCEx VW (Tibetan Sp)

WOW, what a stunner, hard to believe that this Tibetan Spaniel bitch is 9 years old. She is so proud and alert in her demeanour and owned the ring. Liked her overall balance, quality and type. She has good body proportions, with a little more length to the body. An endearing head and expression. Well developed in the body with a firm level topline, depth to the brisket and nicely boned limbs. Free and positive on the move

Res Best Veteran In Show – Blackley & Salero – Cooleela Operation Dynamo Wightroche (Cocker)

Another cracking veteran, coming up 8 years of age this black Cocker Spaniel dog shows lovely balance and flowing lines. He has such a pleasing head, proportionate and gentle in expression. Clean neck of good length, flowing into a firm well held topline and correct tail set. Lovely depth and spring to the rib cage. His hindquarters giving him drive from the rear and good reach in front. Put down in lovely coat and condition

1. Mrs Baxandall - Battsrock Ashes To Ashes (Chesapeake Bay Ret)

Pleasing Chessie bitch, just 6 months old, and showing much potential. All the basics are there, just needing time to mature. Well balanced head piece with good width to the back skull with neat well placed ears. Strong neck of good length, liked her depth of brisket for one so young with good width. Well boned limbs and nicely rounded feet. Ribs show a good spring. Hindquarters are wide and with a good bend of stifle. Moving out true and with drive at the end of a long day for her

2. Miller & Millichamp & Whitehead - Foxriever Sea Shadow (Curly Coated Ret)

Much to admire on this upstanding 10 month old liver Curly dog. He has a lovely shape on the stack. Masculine wedge shaped head, with a toning eye colour. Clean neck of good length showing the slight arch. Chest is down to the elbow with a nice spring of rib and holding a firm topline. Think he was a little tired at this point in the day, being a little erratic on the move, but showing drive

1. Mrs Mootaz - Charney Tsukino With Tazapash (Japanese Spitz)

Cracking 8 year old Japanese Spitz dog. Really showed his socks off and looked a picture. Liked his overall balance and substance. He has a balanced head, well proportioned, lovely dark eye and pigmentation, with neat ears. Well developed through the body, with a good spring to the ribcage. Standing on straight well boned limbs onto tight feet. He has a light action on the move and true fore and aft. Presented in a profuse coat.

2. Mr & Mrs Young - Cocosamel Misia (Samoyed)

This 8 year old Samoyed bitch did not think that she was a veteran and liked to make her presence felt. Liked her overall shape and balance. Strength to her wedge shaped head, flat skull, dark almond eyes, and thick ears. Good length of neck, depth to the ribcage, nicely angulated hindquarters. Moving out with drive

Oh my, could not believe that this Buff American Cocker bitch was 13 years old, what a credit to her owners/breeders. Still in full coat and in lovely condition. Feminine head, of good proportions, nicely chiselled, dark round eye and pigmentation. Good length of neck, flowing into a firm topline. Pleasing depth to the brisket and spring of ribs giving a compact outline. Moving with good drive

Very feminine 10 year old B&W pointer bitch. Her curving lines give a shapely outline. She has a very feminine head piece, with her dark eyes giving such a gentle expression. Clean neck of good length, good depth to the brisket and enough fill in of forechest. Moving out well, just not quite the accuracy of winner today
