THE YELLOW LABRADOR CLUB OPEN SHOW - 26TH MARCH 2025

JUDGE MISS J DIGWEED (WILLOKIN)

I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to Judge today and to also thank the

Exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge their dogs and for their patience also as

this was my first time judging a breed club with so many quality Labradors.

This show is always a lovely event with super home cooked food for all exhibitors to enjoy

and a committee that had worked hard to put on such an enjoyable show.

BP D (2 0) 1 Ms J Bardsley Baileydale Boogaloo Eye catching yellow dog puppy with a very

sweet head and expression, good eye shape and colour with lovely black pigment.

Nice reach of neck leading to a level topline good front and rear angles and plenty of bone

and substance. Enjoying his day out today. Moved well for one so young. 

2 Mr & Mrs Braddon Trendlewood Hometown Glory Lovely puppy but slighter in bone and substance than 1, he has a lovely head and expression with good pigment. Very balanced in outline,

just preferred the size and strength of 1.

MPD (1 0) 1 Mr D Wilmhurst Dolwen Wish Upon a Star of Mandamay Lighter yellow dog

with kind head and expression, clean neck level topline carrying tail straight off. Stands on

lovely neat feet and four square. Happy on the move

PD (2 0) 1 Mrs L Harvey Major State Park in Linjor JW Loved this boy’s head he has such a

kind, melting expression with a good length of muzzle. Uses his ears to his advantage.

Good bone and substance, clean neck onto a good lay of shoulder, level topline with tail

coming straight off. Lovely coat and well clothed tail moving well around the ring. I was

pleased to award him Best Puppy Dog 2 As MPD

J D (2 0) 1 Mr & Mrs Mclellan Saranden Im on Fire This dog has a nice masculine head and

expression with excellent eye shape and colour. Correct ear set and carriage. He has good

front angulation, deep through his chest and barrelled rib cage. A level topline and tailset

with good rear quarters, width of thigh and well let down hocks. Good double coat and I

particularly liked his darker coat colour. Moved with purpose around the ring. 2 Landebac

Ventura Miss N Baron Pale yellow dog of good proportions, slighty longer cast than 1, clean

neck to good lay back of shoulder, level topline in good coat and condition and moved well.

YD (2 0) 1 Mr & Mrs Mclellan Saranden Im on Fire 2 Mr M Foster Rochevale Beal Lovely

yellow dog with a gentle, kind expression, good eye shape and colour, clean neck onto well

placed shoulders, lovely bone with good barrelled ribs and short in loin. Strong hind

quarters. Good double coat just lost out on movement to 1 today.

G D (1 0) 1 Mrs V Edwards Chelmscote Key Component Lovely dark yellow dog with a very

masculine head and expression. Good clean neck set onto well placed shoulders. Good

width and depth of chest, ample bone, and substance. Strong level topline, correct double

coat and tail. Moved ok

PGD (6 2) 1 Mr & Mrs Braddon Trendlewood One More Time Lovely pale-yellow dog with

a gorgeous masculine head. Ample bone and substance standing on neat feet and four

square. Nicely balanced outline with good front and rear assembly. In good coat and

condition. Moved very well. 2 Mr I Ganney Darrabol Sand Dollar (AI) Dark yellow dog with

a masculine head and expression, good stop, and length of muzzle. Stands on neat feet with

good bone and substance. He has a good firm level topline and tailset carried well on the

move. I just preferred the balance and movement of 1 today.

LD (7 3) 1 Mr R Ennis-Holden Devonshires Yellowstone at Mariank (IMP USA) Very eye-

catching yellow love this boy’s masculine head and expression, he has a clean neck leading

to well-placed shoulders, ample bone, and substance, standing four square with neat feet.

Level topline and tail straight off. He has a strong back end with good width of thigh and

turn of stifle. Good double coat and well clothed tail just starting to lose it slightly. Overall,

a lovely well-balanced Male full of enthusiasm and drive. 2 Mr B J Brackner Original

Soundtrack Del Trango for Brupurhat Lovely dark yellow dog who was very striking in the

ring. Kind head and expression, clean in neck onto a good layback of shoulder, ample bone

and substance, level topline and tail set,. Moved well. I preferred the hind quarters of 1

today and his overall enthusiasm in the ring.

O D(3 1) Mrs L Harvey Major Just the Joker In Linjor JW Super masculine male, lovely head

and expression, neat well-set ears, good length of muzzle with lovely pigment. Amble bone

and substance standing four square. Clean neck onto well placed shoulders, good upper

arm placement. Deep through chest, well barrelled ribs and short in loin. Level topline and

strong hind quarters which showed on the move. I was pleased to award him Best Dog

SPV D/B (4 3) 1 Mrs J Charlton Sh Ch Foxrush Spun Gold A beautifully balanced 10 year old

pale yellow bitch, such a lovely example of our breed and still showing her socks off.

She has a lovely feminine head, clean in neck into well positioned front assembly, holding a

level topline and tail carriage on the move. I was pleased to award her BVIS 

2 Mrs L Harvey Major Linjor The Squire Same age as 1 with a super masculine head and expression

but not overdone in any way. A nicely balanced dog clean through his neck, good lay of

shoulder and correct in upper arm, he was deep through chest and had a good length of leg.

Held his topline and tailset on the move.

BPB (3 0)Mrs L Tooth Mattand Halloween Moon By Ludalor Super baby with a very sweet

head and expression, super pigment and using her ears well and to her advantage. She was

very happy to be here today and had been well schooled so nothing phased her. Very nicely

balanced, with lovely bone and substance clean neck onto a good front assembly, level

topline and tail set. Lovely puppy coat. She moved so well round the ring. Pleased to

award her Best Baby Puppy 2 Mrs C & Mr D Clayton Rochevale Aurora A very pretty head

and expression with super dark pigment. She is a smaller & longer cast bitch than 1 but

still very nicely made . Not as confident as 1 but in time that will come.

MPB (3 0) 1 Mrs S Walton Gallybob Whoops A Daisy Loved this girls head, she has super

eye shape and colour giving a kind intelligent expression. Clean in neck good lay of shoulder

and correct upper arm angulation. She has good rear qtrs too and is balanced throughout.

a level topline which was held as she moved, carried her tail a little high but was excited to

be here. She moved with purpose around the ring. I liked her very much and think one to

watch for the future. Pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy In Show.

2 Mrs J Charlton Foxrush Hope So Another pretty bitch with a pleasing head and expression,

nicely balanced front and rear but a little longer cast in body than 1, shown in good coat and

condition and moved well.

PB ( 3 0) 1 Miss E Manning Marchurch Solstice Kiss Dark yellow bitch with a lovely feminine

head and expression using her ears well. She has good bone and substance standing on

neat feet and four square. Front assembly good and a level topline and tailset, Nice hind

quarter with good turn of stifle and short hocks. Excellent coat and moved well paying

attention to her handler. 2 Tissalian Secret Treasue A very pretty pale-yellow bitch, longer

cast than 1, level topline and tailset, pleasing hind quarters with a good width of thigh and

short hocks. Not in such good coat as 1 today.

JB (3 0) 1 Mr & Mrs Mclellan Sarenden Book of Dreams Beautiful feminine bitch good eye

shape and colour with a good length of muzzle. Ample bone and substance and stands on

neat feet. She has a lovely clean neck which sits on well laid-back shoulders into a level

topline and well clothed tail coming straight off her back. . Pleasing hind quarters which

she used to her advantage on the move. 2 Miss N Baron Landebec Villanelle Pretty bitch

with a pleasing outline. I preferred the front angulation of 1, lovely level topline which she

held on the move and good width and angulation of hindquarters. Moved and shown well.

YB (4 0) 1 Mr & Mrs Clayton Rochevale Sapphire A well balanced bitch of good proportions.

She has a super head and expression, good length of muzzle. Clean neck leading to good

front angulation. Lovely bone and substance just right for a bitch. She has a level topline

and her tail comes straight off her back end. Nice rear angulation with short hocks and

super coat and otter tail. Moved with purpose around the ring.

2 Mcfarwins Flashing Lights JW Very pretty bitch with lovely eye shape and colour, neat set

ears. Clean in neck but slighter longer cast than 1, good depth of chest level topline and

tailset with pleasing hind quarters. Just carrying a little too much weight which showed on

the move today.

MB (3 0) Mrs S Walton Gallybob Willo the Wisp Pale yellow bitch of good proportions, super

bone and substance but not over done in anyway. Pretty head and expression, good reach

of neck into well placed shoulders. Stands four square with lovely neat feet. Super topline

and tailset which just needs to firm on the move. Pleasing hindquarters with well let down

hocks. Lovely coat and otter tail, moved very well.

Miss D Goodwin Carpenny Frieda Lovely head and expression, neat set ears, clean neck, just

preferred front angulation of 1. Level topline and tailset although carried her tail quite high

today which spoilt her outline on the move. Coat just on the blow.

UGB (3 1) Mr & Mrs Mclellan Saranden Book of Dreams as Junior Bitch 2 Mrs V Edwards

Chelmscote one to Remember Pretty bitch with a lovely head and expression, kind eye just

carrying a little too much weight today which spoilt her topline as she moved.

GB (4 2) Mrs C Bailiss Tissalian Haughty Mia Very pretty pale-yellow bitch with a lovely

head and expression, good length of muzzle, neat well-set ears. Clean in neck with a good

lay of shoulder, deep through chest, level topline and strong hind quarters. In very good

coat with a well clothed otter tail. Moved well 2 Mrs J King Linthwaite Mathilda (AI) JW

Very feminine bitch with a lighter eye colour than 1. Clean neck into good well placed

shoulders level topline with tail straight off, just preferred rear angulation and movement of

1 today.

PGB (4 1 )Mr & Mrs P Collins Foxrush Joyfull JW This bitch has a gorgeous head and

expression, lovely eye shape and colour. She stands four square on lovely neat feet,

excellent shoulders and a decent upper arm. Adequate bone and super double coat, lovely

level topline held on the move with a super otter tail. Well-developed hind quarters with

well let down hocks. Moved very well. 2 Miss N Baron Landebec Crazy In Love A very nice

balanced bitch front and rear but standing a little heavier than 1 which reflected in her

movement.

LB ( 5 0 ) 1 Mr E Holden & Mr P Lammens Stand By Me of Misty Dreams (IMP FRA)

A beautiful bitch that stands out in the crowd for the right reasons. She has a gorgeous

head and expression, clean neck leading to well positioned shoulders. Super bone and

substance, neat correct feet. Level topline which she held on the move, super coat and tail

moving well in the ring. RBOB 2 Mr & Mrs Braddon Trendlewood Shape of You A lovely

well balanced bitch slighter than one but perfectly made and moved very well.

OB ( 5 3 ) 1 Mr D Coode Ch Warringah’s Pippingarra JW A lovely unexaggerated bitch of

excellent breed type. She has a lovely head and expression with good eye shape and

colour, good length of muzzle and neat well-set ears. She presents a balanced outline from

her lovely clean neck into a well-constructed front, well sprung ribcage and good rear

angulation. She holds a level topline on the move where shes moves straight in front and

with purpose from behind. I was pleased to award her Best In Show. 2 Miss N Baron

Mariank Vanity Fair at Landebec I have always admired this bitch but she was in tough

competition today. Nicely balanced with a good length of leg, level topline and tailset

correct coat and tail. Moved well.
