My thanks to the committee for the invitation and to my very capable stewards. We were very fortunate to be judged outside today in glorious weather and an ample-sized ring.
IRISH RED & WHITE SETTER
PUPPY (0,0)
POST GRADUATE (1,0)
Rubethan Florentine of Aislingwood. A very honest bitch with adequate strength in bone. Typical head shape in profile, very feminine in outlook with correctly shaped eye, would perhaps like them a shade darker to be critical. Very good balance of angulation with a firm topline and correct slope to croup. Liked her smooth, rhythmic action on the move with breadth over her quarters. RBOB
OPEN (3,1)
Roanjora Cremant D’Alsace JW. Loved her for breed type, built on clean lines with obvious athleticism. Ultra-feminine head with dark eyes, correct shape to back skull and clean lips. Reachy neck that flows into well laid shoulders with a long upper arm. Good spring of rib for 21 months old with time to develop further through her middle. Broad over her pelvis with well bent stifles and firm hocks. Impressed me greatly on the move showing firmness in elbow and hock with a stylish side gait. BOB
Aislin Of The Roner Fields (Imp NLD). Really liked this one and did her best to play her handler up today! Really belies her 9 years. Head is well proportioned with dark eyes and correct ear set. Liked her body properties with good spring of rib, level topline and balanced angulation. Would not cooperate on the move today.
GOLDEN RETRIEVER
PUPPY DOG (3,0)
Oppenheimer Oligarchia. Substantial cream who pleased me greatly for his general balance and breed type. Typical head shape with good shape to back skull and the darkest of eyes. Well-made forehand with a level topline. Good length of leg with the neatest of feet. Well bodied up for age with symmetrical hind angulation. Age-appropriate going/coming on the move but demonstrates a very fluid and easy side gait. BP
Xanadu with Toddrosa of Sunshine’s Valley (Imp Bel). Very pleasing make and shape to this cream with excellent bone. Another holding good body for his age with a level topline. Pleasing mover who maintains his shape, just preferred the head and tail carriage of 1.
Soneve Diamond Sparkler for Brensham.
PUPPY BITCH (2,1)
Pearlbarn Pink Diamond at Rugglestone. Lots of appeal with this young lady displaying such a clean shape and excellent breed type. Beautiful feminine head with dark eyes and excellent pigmentation. Well laid shoulders but would prefer a better upper arm. Good leg length, excellent spring of rib and topline. Powerful rear quarters with wide thighs and firm hocks. Uses herself well on the move and is so sound going/coming.
JUNIOR (3,1)
Marsabit Celtic Harp. Longer cast but presents a very pleasing shape. Prettiest of heads with dark eyes and correctly set ears. Strong neck but would prefer a slightly better shoulder. Correct length of leg with a decent depth of brisket, excellent topline and strongly made rear, wide thighs and short hocks. Loved her side gait.
Brunwickes Style Sapphire. Not quite the bone of 1 but presents a pleasing shape. Pretty head and eye with a decent reach of neck. Also would benefit from slightly better shoulders with plenty of leg. Excellent topline and ribbing. Shows strength through her rear with firm hocks. Goes with ease on the move from all angles.

Enough leg length, level topline with good spring of rib. Correct coming towards, a shade close going away and holds herself well on the go-round.
OPEN DOG (2,1)
Van Gogh Of Sunshine’s Valley with Toddrosa (Imp Bel). Well up to size but impressed for his clean outline and strength in bone. Head is obviously masculine with well shaped skull, dark eyes and correct pigment. Strong neck that flows into a decent forehand with straight limbs, would prefer slightly better return of upper arm. Deep brisket, plenty of leg and strong topline. Firm hocks when stood from any angle. Steady mover all round, remaining firm in elbow and hock from all angles. BOS
OPEN BITCH (1,0)
Marsabit Shimmer And Shine. Rich gold bitch who impressed me greatly in all departments. Really liked her clean shape and obvious balance without exaggeration. JUNIOR HANDLING 6-11 YRS (3,1)
Edward handling an American Cocker Spaniel. Smartly dressed young man who presented his exhibit with professionalism at all times. Very good breed-specific presentation. Clean showing of the teeth and noticed the misplaced leg. On the move he showed clean lines and tight corners but just needed to work on maintaining his charge’s attention more. An excellent job, well done!
Lille-Jayne Gardner-Housden handling a Labrador Retriever. It is never easy handling a free-stack breed but Lillie-Jayne did a sterling job here! She demonstrated an excellent rapport with her charge and lots of patience to maintain their focus - this in itself is a really important skill! Moved her charge at the right pace but just needed to be aware of where the judge is to avoid breaking the golden rule. Excellent effort, well done!
SENIOR HANDLING 50+ YRS (5,4)
Daisy Toublic handling an ESS. Excellent overall presentation, ensuring she handled her charge in a breed-specific manner. Showed the teeth cleanly. Excellent pace on the move with clean lines and tight corners making the most of the ring space. Great work!
