Many thanks to the committee for asking me to judge such a lovely selection of breeds. My main group is Gundogs, but I do love hounds also.

Thank you to the exhibitors for entering and the sporting appreciation of my decisions.

Irish Wolfhound

Puppy

1 Stanton & Latham - Bonaforte’s Golden Voyageur NAF TAF BP 10m Wheaten d. Loved this youngster. Great head properties, long with good forehead, stop and eyes good shape and colour. Well laid shoulders and correct upper arm. Lovely top line and strong well-developed hindquarters and tail well set and carried low. Super bone and good quality rough harsh coat.

Definitely one to watch. BP

1 Dawson - Hydebeck Tyme To Love At Graefyn BOB 15m Red Bridle d. Well balanced teenager full of energy but settled well on the move. Lovely head properties and strong neck. Well-muscled long limbed and with good bone.

Good spring of ribs going well back and a deep chest. Ground covering effortless movement won him BOB

1 Dawson - Hydebeck Heart Of Gold At Graefyn RBOB Rising 4y Wheaten d.

Upstanding mature male. Good outline in profile, topline and strong hindquarters. Just preferred the younger dog for BOB on movement and front assembly.

1 Rogerson – Everwyck Alphin 15m Red&white d. One I would like to take home! Classic head long & lean correct proportions and beautiful almond shape eyes and small neat ears. Well balanced showing a beautiful outline from the slightly arched strong neck along the topline in a graceful curve and the correct fallaway and tail set. Good bone and depth of chest for his age. Presented perfectly. Lovely effortless sound movement. A really lovely Borzoi.

2 Ford – Jansams White Russian white/brindle 19m d. A more mature male with a good head piece. Well chiselled and good strong jaw and correct eye shape. Good bone and well balanced. Lovely quality coat and moved well.

3 Yardley - Greatreddon Amathyst

1 Ford - Mischran Miika BOB 3y Red Brindle d. Smart aristocratic upstanding male. Good strong head with correct planes and well filled below the eyes. Small neat ears. Good front assembly deep chest and correct topline. Strong hindquarters. Moved soundly and easily covering the ground well.

2 Webb - Mischran Tissaia At Parsax 4y Self Red b. I really liked her and her sister who was 2nd in Open. Both exhibiting excellent breed type. Long lean heads with nice eye shape and small ears. Lovely overall balance. Very good nice wide hindquarters. Moved very well.

3 Yardley - Derzhi Veter Lady Killer (Imp Ukr)

1 Turner - Chalksville Katerina RBOB Wh/Silver 3y b. Very pleasing in profile. She has a lovely feminine head. Good strong arched neck and going into a lovely topline with correct arch for a female. Good front assembly and strong hindquarters. Moved well.

2 Webb - Mischran Calanthe At Parsax Self Black. 4y b. Same comments as her sister 2nd in PG I slightly preferred the movement of this one but a really quality feminine hound without being too fine.

1 Addis - Bubas Juno Over Savannastorm 6y Red&White b. Nicely balanced

With a good head piece. Correct proportions of skull to foreface and flat cheeks. Good wrinkle on forehead and side. Nice fine slightly hooded ears well set. Well laid shoulders and good upper arm and good straight front.

Excellent well sprung ribs. Good strong hindquarters. Moved well. BOB

1 Gardiner - Flanova Black Moon Over Svenjak 9m b. Lovely youngster.

Super head properties. Long nicely moulded with correct stop. Nice eye shape and colour. Neck flows nicely into a good shoulder placement and long ribs. She’s still very young and shows great promise. Moved well. BP

1 Perry, Perry & Leavy - Wychwizard Skipper To Casanjay 12m b.

Another nicely balanced youngster showing lots to like. Good head properties and good front assembly. At an in between stage so just some finishing to come.

2 Griffin & Grierson - Lamesbella Elliot 12m d. A raw teenage male who didn’t want to cooperate fully with his handler. Nice quality head and overall lots to like. Hard to assess movement as he found the ground smells more interesting but went well from what I saw.

1 Lewin - Vynesbrook Ultimate Choice 2y b/ Quality exhibit. Nice head properties and very good reach of neck. Well laid shoulders and good proportions of depth of chest and leg length. Super hindquarters and good bend of stifle. Moved well. RBOB

2 Burroughs - I Know Him So Well At Rokaness JW 3y d. Of the males today I found him the best. He has a pleasing head and expression. Good angulation front and back and lovely bone and feet. I thought he was carrying a bit too much weight today. But he moved very well.

1 Lewin - Vynesbrook Deja Bleu 5y b. Caught my eye straight away. Absolutely lovely full of breed type. So well balanced and topped off with the best head. Just floated around the ring covering the ground with reach and drive and just effortlessly. BOB

2 Gardiner - Bitcon Taylor Made For Svenjak 5y b. Another quality female and again good size and proportions, just a bit shorter in the neck than I would like. Moved very well and is a good example of the breed.

1 Beddall - Dwensantinis Dora Of Artiiyo almost 3y b. Unmistakably a Gordon and unmistakably female. Super head qualities nicely rounded skull and muzzle along parallel lines. Correct stop and eyes nicely set under brows. Clean neck into well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm nicely tucked elbows. BOB

1 Wrigley - Kattandale Blac Highlander (AI) RBOB 5y b. Good typey female with nice proportions. Bigger frame than PG 1 and more bone but also carrying a touch too much weight today. Good angulation front and back and moved well. RBOB

1 Whitehouse - Kazanpaul Prawn Cracker AWB 4y Liver&white ticked b.

Well balanced very pleasing girl that moved steady and positively.

Feminine head with clean lines. Excellent eye shape giving a soft but intelligent expression. Good length of neck flowing into a correct front assembly with a good depth of chest and long ribs. Lovely hindquarters good width and well-muscled. Good tail set correctly carried on the move.

1 Nelson - Mizani Dioro Over Savio 7y Brown roan d. Super example of the breed. Head has the correct proportions and eye shape. Correct length of neck vs head and set into well laid shoulders. Correct length of leg to body ratio. Robust dog with everything to like showing breed characteristics and moved well. BOB

2 Nelson - Nelbekio Just The Ticket 2 1/2 y brown & white b. Good quality Lagotto with nice head and body proportions. Would like a bit more reach on the move. In good fit condition. RBOB
