Whitstable & District Canine Society

Breed: Border Terrier

Thank you to the Whitstable & District Canine Society for the invitation to judge at their Open Show. A huge thank you to all who exhibited under me, it was a pleasure to go over your dogs.

Border Terrier

J (3,1) 1 Nettle’s ONZIEMEHURST MARTY MCFLY, 11-month-old Dog. A smart youngster showing good overall breed type. Excellent outline, well-balanced with a narrow front and racy build. Slightly undershot bite noted but not detrimental to overall impression. Good body for age, with neat feet and a harsh, dense coat of excellent quality. Confident on the move and handled well. BPIB. Pleased to see this dog go on and win TPG3. 2 Hughes’ ARUNMERE RHAPSODY IN RED, 6-month-old Dog. Very attractive head and expression with a well-proportioned skull and correct bite. Chest not yet as developed as 1st, but this is to be expected at this age. Moved out well and was slightly more fluid on the move than the winner. A very promising youngster, just beaten on maturity today. 3 Cramphorn’s ARUNMERE THUNDERBOLT

PG (2,2) 1 Feeney’s STARMIX CANDY, 2-year-old Bitch. Lovely outline with a typical Border profile. Slightly finer all round, which appealed, and showed a well-proportioned head of good type. Balanced front and rear with a well-set tail and moved out soundly. Coat harsh and in good order. A quality exhibit. RBOB. 2 Mcauliffe’s BLUANQUORS SUN PRINCESS, 4-year-old Bitch. Slightly larger than preferred and unfortunately looked a little flat on the move today, affecting overall presentation. However, she carries a good quality coat and has nice breed features. Just didn’t appear fully at ease in the ring on the day.

O (1,0) 1 Nettle’s ONZIEMEHURST THE RED BARON JW, 16-month-old Dog. A quality dog with a masculine head and keen expression. Strong muzzle and excellent dentition. Well-ribbed back with a good underline and topline held both standing and on the move. Movement was free and driven, covering the ground with purpose. Coat of ideal texture and condition. Stood out in the line-up and was a clear winner for top honours. BOB. Pleased to see this dog go on to win TG3.
