Yeovil & District Canine Society

Thank to Yeovil & District Canine Society for inviting me to judge their Open Show. Thankfully the weather stayed good, albeit windy, but a lovely location to hold a dog show. Thank you to all the exhibitors who chose to come under me as their judge; this was my first Open show appointment for these breeds, so I appreciate all my entries of lovely dogs. It was a little difficult to judge the movement of the dogs today with the slightly longer grass, but I tried to get the dogs to move as much as possible to give them the best chance.

G (3,0) 1 Puleston’s CHANIKOS MYSTICAL DREAM FOR SHANULEAS, 11-month-old Brindle & White Dog. This dog exhibits the desired arrogant carriage but slightly more abundantly coated than preferred. Underneath the coat is a dog of good build, muscularity, and a broad chest, particularly promising for a youngster. The body is good, and the dog clearly displays masculine characteristics. The tail is lovely, heavily plumed and carried well. BOB, BPIB. 2 Wood’s DENSOWN FANTA FIZZ TO RALPHINA, a 10-month-old Gold & White Bitch. This is a really nice, pretty bitch with a sturdy build for her age. She possesses a lovely chrysanthemum-like face. While her eyes are slightly smaller, they are dark and well placed. Her coat is lovely and well presented, despite the wind, the whiskers are a little short at this stage, but these should come with maturity. Her mouth is preferred over the first place dog, with the correct bite. Unfortunately, she was a bit flat on the move, potentially due to the ground and/or wind, and not showing the desired arrogance. However, she is a nice sized bitch and could have easily challenged for first place with better movement. RBOB. 3 Jenner & Archer’s ALAMIKS THE SHOW MUST GO ON
