Yorkshire Gundog Club

Breed: Italian Spinone

Thank you so much to the Yorkshire Gundog Club for their invitation to judge and I was amazed with my entry of 12 dogs. A few were lacking in muscle tone and couple had dirty beards and dirty teeth. I was not surprised to find that my BOB and BPIB had the same Mother as you could see they were related - Both were shortlisted for BIS & BPIS

Puppy – 2 entries

1) Cullings’ Lucoru Punchinello 8 month old, still a baby but showing so much potential. Lovely appealing head leading into well constructed front. Correct topline and tail carriage, Movement was positive and correct for his age and he covers the ground very well. He is certainly one to watch as he matures. Correct coat texture. BP, RBOB and shortlisted for BPIS.

2) Ilsolo Make a Splash, 11 month old. Would not like to see him grow upwards any further as he is up to size. Nice head and good construction. Difficult to assess as was not moving at his best however he looked close behind. More muscle tone would enhance his movement.

Junior – 0 entries

Post Graduate – 2 entries 1 absent

1) Kays’ Annilann Floozie. Lovely 3 year old girl with very good head and the most melting expression. Good coat on her of correct texture. Correct front construction, with good topline which was held on the move with good tail carriage. Well constructed rear. Moved better in this class than she did in the open class.

Open – 9 entries 1 absent

1) Cullings Locuro Blown Over – Judged this boy last year and my comments from then still apply. His head and expression are great and I love the glint he has in his eyes just a hint of naughtiness He is constructed so well and his movement is lovely to watch as he powers round the ring and then free stood four square. He has correct coat texture and thick skin, correct tail carriage. BOB and shortlisted for BIS

2) Glaziks’ Ellisbell Piaggio – Very nice male very well constructed with beautiful head. Correct top line and tailset. Minimal tuck up. Stands on well boned legs and another that stood square when asked to free stand. Lovely coat texture and thick skin. Just wished that he had moved out a bit more which is what cost him 1st place and a the RBOB.

3) Kays’ Annilann Floozie. Repeat from Post Grad
