Miniature Smooth-Haired Dachshunds

Spec’ Yearling D/B (4/2) 1st Ergis, Mrs S M, Siouxline Elsa Marie. A pretty little Black & Tan Bitch of 13 months. I loved her correctly shaped and proportioned houndy head with super dark eyes, nice shaped and well-placed ears and correct bite. She has a strong neck which leads into a well shaped front, a good prominent prosternum with lovely well placed and angulated shoulders with nicely tucked in elbows and adequate length of keel, but does lacks the correct proportions for good ground clearance. She has well sprung ribs and a sufficient length loin, well positioned tail set and correct angle of croup. As with many of the minis though I would prefer stronger hindquarters, although hers are correctly angulated without any exaggeration RBOB. 2nd Dunford, Mrs T. Ruletadax Evie Antonia a 21 month old Black & Tan Bitch. She presented a nice shape when staked but unfortunately lost it when moving and wasn’t behaving for her handler. She has a nice head, with good dark eyes, a good bite and well placed ears. A good length of neck and a sufficient prosternum. Is slightly upright in the shoulder with a shorter than desired upper arm, but she does have a good amount of ground clearance, length of keel and a good rib to loin ratio. Her hindquarters are well shaped and not over exaggerated.

PG D/B (2/0) 1st Forge, Mrs I. Normpug Apricot Beauty 3 year old Shaded Red Bitch. A very happy character and a nice compact body, she has a fairly good head although she lacks a bit of breath across her muzzle, a good bite, good dark pigmentation to both eyes and nose, with well shaped and placed ears and enough length of neck. Her shoulders are a little forward giving the appearance of lacking a prominent prosternum and she is a little short in the upper arm, although she has well tucked in elbows and nice tight front feet. She is a little deep in the chest but does have a good rib to loin ratio and well sprung ribs. Her hindquarters are well shaped, with a correct lay of crop and tail set, and nicely proportioned hind legs. 2nd Johnson, Mrs C L. Chocobrandy’s Dream Girl a Black & Tan Bitch of 14 months. She has an okay head, correct bite and nice dark eyes and correct ears, leading into an adequate length of neck into well laid shoulders of correct angulation, and she has the correct amount of ground clearance. Unfortunately, she has a very steep under cut and “whippet” like topline giving a rather steep croup. She has enough rear angulation and lovely tight feet front and back.

Open D/B (3/0) 1st Forge, Mrs I. Normpug Roman Holiday JW. A Black & Tan Dog of 2 years. Overall, this lad is very pleasing on the eye. He’s well balanced and correctly proportioned, my only criticism is he could do with a little more ground clearance. He has a nice head with correct length of muzzle to skull and slightly diverging planes with correct bite. Good shaped dark eyes, and nice shaped and sized ears, positioned well on his head. This leads into enough length of neck with well placed shoulders and a good but not over done prominent prosternum, he has a good length of keel with well sprung ribs and the correct rib to loin ratio. A nice level topline and good under line which is maintained on the move. He has a correctly set croup and tail and well shaped hindquarters, with good angulation and nice tight feet front and back. BOB and I was pleased to hear he was placed HG3 as well. 2nd Johnson, Mrs C L. Muzzelflash’s Brandy Snap a Chocolate & Tan Bitch of 5 years. I see that this is the mother of 2nd in PG class and I have similar comments to make although she is less extreme than her daughter. She has a fairly nice head, correct bite, good eye’s and ears, leading into a good length of neck and fairly well laid shoulders. Sufficient prosternum, just enough ground clearance and a better length of keel than her daughter with a better underline although it is still a little too much tuck up, giving a little too much rise over the loin and a higher than desired rump. 3rd Egris Mrs S M Brogansain Battlecry for Soiuxline
