Standard Wire-Haired Dachshunds

Spec’ Yearling D/B (1/0) 1st Akehurst Mrs C Tendrow Down the Wire. A lovely 15 month old Wild Boar dog, moved out well with good reach and drive and presented a pleasing shape when stacked, although he was being a bit on the head strong and naughty side on the day. He has a good head, with well set ears, nice dark eyes, and the correct bite, a decent length of neck into well laid shoulders where he is proportioned well to give the desired amount of ground clearance. He has a sufficiently prominent prosternum, and adequate length of keel, a well-shaped thorax with a strong loin. His hindquarters are well shaped, not over angulated and have the correct length of rear pastern, the croup is correct as is the set of tail. I was pleased to award him RBOB

PG D/B (0/0)

Open D/B (2/1) 1st Rowe, Miss R, Ch Boloria Goodnight Mr Tom well handled by Mrs J Rowe. A nicely compact well shaped Wild Boar dog of 22 months. Again, another dog who moved out well and with purpose. Presented in good coat, and well-muscled body. He has a good head with nice dark eyes with correct balance between muzzle and skull, correct bite, with well-shaped and positioned ears, leading to a strong neck and well-placed shoulders. A good prosternum with plenty of length of keel and well sprung ribs. A good strong loin leads into a correctly positioned crop and well-set tail. He has lovely strong hindquarters correctly proportioned back legs with nice tight feet. It was a close call, but I preferred his overall shape to the RBOB and was pleased to award him BOB.
