Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund

Puppy D/B (2 0) 1st Rose’s Merryline Martha with Rosencrantz a Wild Boar Bitch of 6 months. Overall a nicely balanced little girl although she may run a little big if she carries on growing. She has a lovely head with a good expression, nice dark eyes with a well set ear and good bite. A good length of neck which leads into a nice lay of shoulder, currently lacks a little fore-chest but I think it will come as she matures. A lovely topline which she held on the move as well. Good rear angulation and moved out nicely with drive. A slightly soft coat still but hopefully that will improve Best Puppy.

2nd Flowers and Smith’s Bingobongo’s Honey Ryder a Red Bitch of only just 6 months. A sweet, petite, little girl, with a pretty head. A nice length to height ratio but very fine and a bit narrow overall. However she had a lovely forward temperament, a good coat and moved with confidence around the ring.

Special Yearling D/B (1 1)

Post Graduate D/B (5 1) 1st Flowers and Smith’s Bingobongo’s Alpinista a Wild Boar Bitch of 2 years. I really liked this little girl. She has a lovely feminine head with good bite, dark eye, and well placed ears of good shape and size. Enough length of neck leads into a well laid shoulder placed far enough back to give a good fore-chest with a prominent sternum. Well sprung ribs with a good rib to loin ration. She has a lovely level topline which she also held on the move. She does lack a little drive at the rear but is parallel. She has nice tight feet front and rear and a good coat with enough furnishings. I was please to award her Best of Breed.

2nd West’s Byabye Brillare with Archidax JW a Red Bitch of 7 years. A lovely older lady who is nicely balanced overall. A good head with correct bite, nice expression, and a good dark eye and nose. A good top line which she held on the move, presented in excellent condition especially for her age, with a nice coat. She was slightly close in the hock when stacked.

3rd Stewart-Brown’s Griffindax Gin Fizz.

Open D/B (3 1) 1st West’s Archidax Ch Dark Phoenix a Red Bitch of 2 years. I liked this girl when she was a puppy and watched with interest as she matured. She’s got a lovely houndy head with good furnishings, a lovely dark eye, well-placed and shaped ears. She has a good length of neck which leads into a nicely angulated shoulder. However, as with a lot of the mini wires currently in the ring, she lacks a bit of fore-chest. She has good angulation at both front and rear which she uses to give good drive around the ring. She keeps her top-line on the move although it isn’t quite level Res Best of Breed. I was honestly splitting hairs between her and my BOB winner.

2nd Stewart-Brown’s Pennywave Pink Gin a Dark Wild Boar Bitch of 5 years. She has a sweet head and expression with a good dark eye and good ear set which leads into a nice shoulder. She has a good top line both stacked and on the move.
