Miniature Smooth Dachshunds

Puppy D/B (1 0) 1st Howdon’s Lokmadi Charles Dance, a Red dog of 10 months. This boy had a nice masculine head with correct bite and good dark eyes. He has a fair shoulder well placed over a good spring of rib and a nice prominent fore-chest. A good topline which he held both on the table and on the move and nice tight feet, Best Puppy.

Special Yearling D/B (2 1) 1st Pearman and Sherwood’s Delandmar Miss Daisy Black & tan Bitch of 1 year. A nice but slightly shorter head type with good bite and a good dark eye. A good length of rib to loin and a lovely topline both on the table and on the move. A fair shoulder, but good angulation to the rear which she used to move out well around the ring and nicely parallel at the rear Res Best of Breed.

Post Graduate D/B (3 2) 1st Pearman and Sherwood’s Delandmar Herbert Wood a Shaded Red Dog of 20 months. A nicely masculine head of similar shape to the winner of SY, and again with a good bite and nice dark eye. He has a fair shoulder but for me he was too front heavy with a little too much depth and breadth of chest versus the lighter rear end. He does have nice angulation at the rear which he used to move out well around the ring. He is also a very “happy chap” which is good to see.

Open D/B (3 1) 1st Pearman and Sherwood’s Delandmar Ella Fitzgerald a Shaded Red Bitch of 3 years. I liked this neat little girl, she is well balanced over all with a well angulated front and rear. She’s a similar head to the others from the same kennel with a slightly shorter overall length but a nice feminine head with a pretty expression, good dark eyes and a correct bite. She has a nicely laid shoulder that wraps around her ribs which have a good spring. She’s a little deep in the chest so loses a bit of ground clearance but has a good prominent sternum. She moved out well with drive Best of Breed.
