Breed: Welsh Corgi (Pembroke)

Aberystwyth & District Canine Society Open Show

5th October 2025

Judge: Jackie Chan (Wemcrest)

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at your lovely show. It was a privilege to judge Cardigan Corgis and Pembroke Welsh Corgis, which is where my love of dogs and showing started all those years ago. A huge thank you to the exhibitors for allowing me the pleasure of going over your lovely dogs. It was however a disappointing turn out of Golden Retrievers, which seems to be occurring at recent Welsh shows. Us exhibitors need to support our clubs for them to continue to offer classes in the future.

WELSH CORGI (PEMBROKE)

Puppy (1 entry, 0 absent)

1. Davies’ – COQUETMOSS COPPER BEECH AT ERMYN a promising puppy who needs time to develop. Nice foxy typical head, a little long in muzzle for my liking. Good pigment. Ears well set. Correct scissor bite. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Deep chest. Neat feet. Level topline. Good front and rear angulations. Presented in good condition. Sure to tighten with maturity. BP & PGp4.

Graduate (1 entry, 0 absent)

1. Phillips & Collier’s – NELLSLANE QUEENTELL red and white with feminine foxy head. Correct bite. Good depth to chest. Good length of neck. Longer in frame. Good turn of stifle. Would like more substance. Good front movement. Turns out at rear.

1. Davies’ – HARESFOOT FAIRY NUFF FOR ERMYN 3-Year-old bitch of good substance. Attractive feminine head. Nice eye and ear set. Correct scissor bite. Lovely pigment. Good length of neck into well laid back shoulders. Firm level top line and muscular loin. Her elbows fit tightly to her ribcage which is well sprung. Moved out well but would like a little more drive from rear. She made her handler work hard in the challenge to be awarded BOB.
