Northern Bullmastiff Club

Saturday 13th September 2025 

I had the honor of judging The Northern Bullmastiff Club Single Breed Open Show held in conjunction with Darlington all breeds Champ Show. I would like to thank all participants for there entries. I enjoyed judging and the opportunity to go over some very nice dogs. Thanks go to the show manager and stewards Mr Gary Shirt and Ian Garthwaite and the officials Lynn Shirt and Sandra Garthwaite for the perfect organisation. Also I would like to thank Cath Lewis for the great pictures and the Northern Bullmastiff Club for the lovely present, always nice to have a memory.

So here are the critiques for the Northern Bullmastiff Club Open show at Ripon Race Course on 13/09/2025 Judge: Inge Leys

Baby puppy dog 

1/1 1st 30. Reesley Lets Have it Then Phoria 21/04/2025 Very balanced, beautifully square in every aspect, good pigmentation of the mask and ear, dark eye, and a very nice expression, level bite. Excellent bone and angulation, excellent gait for this young boy. Very good topline and tailset. In my opinion, if he continues to grow like this, he has a promising show future ahead of him. Excellent presented, well deserved Best Baby Puppy dog

Veteran dog (2 AB) 1/3

1st 19. Ch Optimus Danzy Jones 3/08/2018.                                Fawn male in perfect condition, with good pigmentation of the mask and ear, slightly lighter eye, perfect dentition. A beautiful, deep, broad chest supported by strong legs with cat feet. Good angulations front and rear, perfect movement. Perfect handling. Reserve dog and Best veteran dog

1st 25 Hyerdunscar Getting Messi With Optimus 6/01/2025        Strong fawn male for 8 months, square broad skull, lovely expression, nice dark mask, slightly lighter ear, dark eye, good dentition. Broad chest, good topline, preferred a higher tailset. Heavy bone and good feet. Good front and rear angulation. Nice movement. Well presented.

1st 14. Islekeepers Missouri For Cairnmount 14/10/24.                Very balanced and compact fawn puppy male. Nice color and pigmentation of mask and ears, good shaped dark eye, excellent dentition, excellent movement, very well angulation front and rear. Good bone, strong pasterns and cat feet, solid topline and tailset, nice arch of neck. Well presented. Best Puppy Dog and BP

1st 13. Stoneglad Seduction 7/11/2023.                                  Red male, very good pigmentation on mask and ears, good eye, good dentition, very nice arch of neck, solid topline, good bone and cat feet, moderate angulation at the rear, good dept of chest, good movement. Well presented.

Limit dog 4/4

1st 26. Mogmoos Noah With Islekeepers 2/10/2022.          Fawn well balanced strong male, square head with good pigmentation of mask and ear, dark good shaped eye, strong square mussle with excellent stop, good dentition, strong and very good curve of neck, solid topline and good tailset, perfect length of tail, perfect bone and length of leg to carry his body, good broad and deep chest, excellent typical mollosser movement and cat feet. Good angulation. Well presented. Best Dog and BOS

2nd 31. Alonzobar Red Sky For Delarhia 12/02/2021.            Strong well balanced male with nice head, would prefer the mussle slightly longer and more square. Very good pigmentation of mask and ears, good broad and deep chest, perfect topline and set of tail. Sufficient angulation front and rear, smooth runner. Perfect handling.

1st 11. Hyerdunscar All About Keith Trough Optimus 18/07/2023.    Very nice fawn male with good height, nice head and good pigmentation, good dentition, good eye, nice expression, broad and deep chest, good angulation in front, moderate angulation in rear. Good tailset, good bone, to complete the total picture I would have preferred him slightly heavier compared to his height. Excelent presented

2nd 29. Phoria’s Seventh Heaven Jw Shcex Osw 19/01/2022

Nice balanced male with beautiful square head, good mussle and stop, good shaped dark eye, very good topline and tailset, good depht and width of chest, a little bit more angulation and knee would benefit his gate. Very well presented.

Ch Optimus Euphoria 14/01/17.                                   Fawn female in amazing conditions, excellent pigmentation of mask and ears, amazing dentition for nearly 9 years, head still in proportion of body, square skull and mussle with good dentition, tight topline and correct tailset, good angulated front and rear, excellent movement. Perfect handling, Best Veteran Bitch

Hyerdunscar Is Stepping Out With Cairnmount 6/01/2025 Very nice fawn puppy female, very balanced and square in every aspect, nice dark mask, ears and mussle, good teeth, perfect solid topline, straight croup, good chest for age, very good bone and cat feet, excellent angulation front and rear with good knee, showing fantastic movement. Hope she will get more confidence in the show ring she deserves to stand there. Well presented. Best Puppy bitch and BOSP

Valhalla Hunter Amazing Aster At Nanahboozoo 31/10/2024 Fawn female of good height, good pigmentation on mask, ears and mussle, wood preferred to see more stop and less lip, sufficient depth and width of chest, good front angulation, moderate angulation rear which shows in her movement. Very well presented.

1st 24. Optimus Juliette 9/07/2024 Very nice fawn female with good pigment on mask, ears and mussle, good dentition, square skull and mussle, would have preferred a slightly longer nose, good topline and tailset, good depht and width of chest, very good bone, sufficient angulation front and rear, good movement. Well presented.

1st 34. Song Sudaa 23/06/2024 Fawn female with dark eye and good pigmentation on ears and mussle, I would have liked more filling on the cheeks and more stop, good topline, sufficient depht of chest, very good angulated in front and rear, good movement. Well presented.

Post graduate bitch (2 AB) 2/4

1st 8. Lynchpride Doja Cat (4/07/2021)                       Compact and well balanced red female, dark mask, aers and and mussle, straight topline and good tailset, good proportion of head and body. Very good angulation front and rear, nice cat feet, good bone. Prefer less undershot which would make het head more square. Perfect handling.

2nd 18. Hyerdunscar Our Cilla At Optimus 18/07/2023                Nice fawn female, head in proportion with body, good dark mask, ears and mussle, good depht and width of chest, good tailset, good angulated in front, moderate angulation in rear, good movement, would prefer her a bitt higher. Perfect handling.

Satisfaction Dell Urbe Immortale Roycepride 6/07/2023 Excellent deep red female with dark mask, ears and mussle, good dentition, square skull, prefer the mussle slightly wider, good reach of neck, solid topline with good croup and tailset, very good broad and deep chest, very good bone and good angulated in front, moderate angulation in rear, very good movement. Perfect handling.
