A lovely sunny spring day and a lovely welcome in Devon. Thank you. Some lovely dogs to go over. Was really impressed by the overall quality.
Hound Group
Group 1 was the S/H Dachshund, second the lovely whippet bitch, third went to the lovely Hamiltonstovare with the striking Ibizan fourth.
Afghan Hound
PG. 1. Katanga’s Balck Widow at Shimonay. Promising young puppy. Lovely and square in shape. Good sized. Lovely head and good well set eye and well set ear. Good front. Well off for bone and super large foot. Level. Well developed chest Would prefer her a little longer in croup. Good tail which is correctly ringed. Needs to settle into her job, but when she settles into her stride, she is lovely and sound.
Open. 1. Shimalma Disaronno at Tazkindi. Gold dog who is very typey and full of quality. Nice head piece with super length of foreface and excellent strong underjaw. Well set dark eye and well set, well covered ears. Decent length of neck into lovely long shoulders. Enough width. Decent bone and large foot. Level and square. Good hip bones. Well angulated rear. Sound on the move but just lacking in enthusiasm in the hall today.
Basset Fauve de Bretagne
Open Dog. 1. Gouvier Espresso Martini JW. Nice type. In the best of hard jackets. Good skull to muzzle proportions. Good eye. A little strong in skull width for me. Good neck and shoulder. Well ribbed. Decent hind quarters. Super bone. Moved very well.
Beagle
PG Nice class. 1. Vanitonia Enchanted over Michelroy. Won here on her lovely head and expression. Is well made through with a good front assembly. Decent bone. Could be a fraction shorter for my preference. Good tail. Nice rear angulation. Moved well in both directions. In good condition. 2. Parkebreeway Rumour. This is a very nice upstanding young beagle who presents a lovely outline and overall, I preferred his proportions to 1. Super bone and lovely feet. Has the best of hind quarters. Good dark eye. Just needs to finish in head and grow into his ears. I felt he was just in that in between stage. I think with time he will be very nice. 3. Felinoak Gossip at Rhosyndu
Limit 1. Bayard Seal of Approval at Rhosyndu. Tri who is really lovely for type. Initial inspection shows a correct overall silhouette. On closer look has a super head and expression, head proportions are ideal, and has a good eye. Nice front assembly and with good depth of chest. Correct round bone and decent tight foot. Well ribbed. Level with good high set tail of decent strength and well carried. Moved soundly. BOB. 2. Rosanka Skye at Meganjin. Another nice one. Another with a pleasing head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Good bone. Level with good tail. I would just like a fraction more leg to complete overall proportions. Moved well.
Open. 1. Michelroy Pizzazz. Won here on overall size shape and balance. Good head. Nice leathers. Decent bone and ok feet but her nails need some attention. Good rib. Level topline. Easy sound mover. 2. Recap Knuckleebones at Meganjin. Lovely headed with good expression. Preferred the expression here over 1. Nice shape. Needs to be ribbed back more and is long in loin. Not quite as positive going away or the ease of gait of 1.
Borzoi
Open. Interesting class. 1. Byelobog Granabrazo at Hawksflight. Young dogwho scored in overall size and breed type. Excellent head of good length and of correct proportions. Head is clean as required. Correct muzzle, and strong underjaw, correct eye shape and set. Well set ear. If I am to be critical a fraction more neck would complete the overall outline. Decent width of chest and with good bone, scored over 2 in his lovely feet. Good depth of chest. Lovely topline and good width of loin. Super hind angulation. In super jacket. Very collected on the move. 2. Menigma Rey’s infatuation. Different in style to one with more scope. Another with a very pleasing and typical head of good length and strength. Good dark eye of correct shape. Good length of neck into good shoulders. Good depth of skull. Decent topline and nicely angulated. Feet of correct shape but no arch to the toes which detracted from the overall picture. Not as settled in front as 1, but just needs time. A nice prospect.
Dachshund L/H
Open. 1. Drymoor Marron Glace at Boscolla. Quality red bitch who stood alone but would do well in company. I liked her for her overall style. Very nice for size and shape, and in good hard condition and excellent coat. Pleased in head and expression. Good length of neck and well placed shoulders. Under her coat is a good body with good rib, and she has correct ground clearance. Nice topline and tail set. Good rear with a good broad, well-muscled rump. Moved correctly. Shortlisted in a good group.
Dachshund mini L/H
PG. 1. Minard Whispering Angel at Treranch. Nice for size and shape. Good head. Nice ears. Won this class on her excellent eye shape, size and set. Good bone and feet. Nice front assembly. Good topline. Pleasing hind quarters. Moved well. 2. All For Show. Quality mini long and another with a pleasing head of correct proportions. Good neck and shoulder. Well developed keel. Good topline. Not quite the rib of the first placed dog. Correct hind angulation and well muscled rump. Moved with drive but could not quite as settled in the front. 3. Daxiemoors Bloom of Tulips
Open1. Abbilis Maleficent at Treranch. I really liked this specimen. She is good for size and shape. Pleasing head, good eye, nice underjaw, correct muzzle. Good front. Well off for bone. Could be a little more up on her pasterns to complete the picture. Good rib. Nice hind angulation. Moved well. 2. Daxiemoors Flower Girl. Another quality mini LH. Much of the attributes of 1 also apply here. Good head and expression. Lovely neck and shoulder. Well ribbed. Correct topline. Good tail set and tail well carried on the move. Good ground clearance. Just preferred the hind angulation on 1 who just had the edge. Moved very well and in super condition. 3. Minard Darque Red For Devondax JW.
Dachshund S/H
PG. 1. Chidax Sahara Sand by Trisensara JW. Very nice red bitch. She appealed for her overall shape and balance. Good head of correct proportions. Good underjaw. Correct slight arch to her muzzle. Good length of neck into good shoulders. Well made front. Well off for bone Well ribbed. Moved well and in good hard condition. 2. Longmel Caprice Truffle. Different in style to 1. Red with pleasing head. Good neck and shoulder. Not quite so good in front assembly or action as 1. Goo topline and tail set. Slightly longer in loin. Good rear angulation. In good order.
Open 1. Jacksondax Hornet Murrah at Trisensara JW ShCEx. B/T. I really liked this male who is well made and not overdone in any way. He didn’t fare too well under me last time and was really feeling the summer heat, but today was on excellent form. Good head and expression. Pleasing eye. Well set leathers of good length. Super neck and shoulder. Good front with well developed keel. Well ribbed. Enough ground clearance. Good bone and nice feet. Really moved with purpose and with his tail carriage correct. Good drive from the rear. In good coat. Pleased to award him BOB and subsequently the hound group over some nice specimens. 2. Longmel Caprice Truffle. Second in PG.
Dachshund mini S/H
PG.1. Starganag Morrissey for Devondax. B/T. Pleasing young dog who is still a puppy and still needs to body up and fill his frame, however the essentials are there. Good head of correct shape and overall proportions. Nice eye shape and set. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders, correct topline and tailset. Well developed front of decent width. Decent rear. Moved well. 2. Africandawns Dirty Dotty. Not helping her handler here, but another quality B/T who is of nice make and shape. Good eye and good ears. Decent front. Good rib and well ribbed back. Well muscled rear. Not quite as positive as 1 going away. 3. Bronia’s Antonetta for Wakywilks. Not so happy today.
Open. 1. Wakywilks Celestial JW. B/T. 2. Glynlythe’s Heirloom for Devondax. Red. Difficult decision between these two. Different in style, but both quality specimens. 1 is shorter and stronger in the loin with better hind angulation and 2 has better feet and pasterns. Both pleased in head and both have well made fronts with enough ground clearance. Both moved well. 3.Pennydach Mystique for Rosencrantz.
Dachshund W/H

Good length of neck into well placed shoulders. Ideal shoulder placement, good short forearms which are well boned and good feet. Correct ground clearance. Good topline and tail set. Tail correctly carried on the move. In good harsh jacket. 2. Greyhayne Hector. Nice type with correct overall proportions. Another with a quality head of correct proportions and nice eye. Lovely bone and good feet. Good rear which is well angulated. Moved well. Just preferred the underline and full jacket of 1.

Good front with well developed sternum. Well ribbed. Nice rear which is well muscled. Good bone and good feet. Jacket could be a fraction harsher, with rolling will come. Moved very well. 2. Do Smarties at Janacop. Another nice one with much to like. Pleasing head and expression. Another with good bone and feet. Good ground clearance. In excellent jacket. Not quite the precise front action of 1 and preferred topline on Martha.
Open. 1. Rozelle Rosalie ay Janacop JW. Good size and balance. Pleasing head of ideal proportions and good ears. Would prefer her eye a fraction less round. Good length of neck into good shoulders. Nicely ribbed. Good topline. Excellent rear which she uses well. 2. Barratini Song and Dance with Rosencrantz. Promising. Super bone and super feet. Preferred expression and hind angulation on 1. Good neck and shoulder. Correct front. Good ground clearance. Of good overall length and well balanced. Not in the best of jackets but what was there was of excellent texture.

He is really quite lovely and his movement so effortless I could watch him go around all day. Good length to his head and correct breadth to his skull, lovely dark eye and well set leathers of good length. Good length of neck. This male has the best of forehands. Level topline. Good depth of chest. Well set tail of correct length. Markings are as required. Good hind quarters. I really liked this dog. Group 3 against good competition. 2. The Huntress from Sufayre. Well set ears. Good neck and shoulder. Good bone and feet. A fraction wider in front than the first placed dog. Good topline and croup. Well angulated at the rear. Moved soundly but not quite the enthusiasm of 1.
Ibizan Hound

Correct ear of good size and well set. Correct almond shaped eye. Excels in length of neck. Typical front assembly. Good strong pasterns. Of good length. Chest depth ideal. Nice hind quarters. Good length of neck. Correct bone with nice well arched feet. Lovely topline with correct underline. Moderate rear angulation. Moved very well with lovely forward action and good rear drive. 2. Tervanty Dragon Song at Palmik. Another quality bitch who has done well under me earlier this year. Quality through with little to dislike. I still think that she is quite lovely and despite her femininity has no loss of substance. Super hind angulation and musculature. Moved very well. Just preferred the topline on the first placed bitch today. 3. Saintharp Cant stop me Now
PG. 1. Leathern Thumbs up for Doddridge. I really fell for this brindle who is not yet quite out of puppy. I thought her utterly charming. Good length of head with clean skull and good eye. Lovely length of neck into well laid shoulders. Super front assembly. Good depth of chest and well sprung. Correct topline without exaggeration. Moderate hind angulation with good bend of stifle and well-muscled rear. In side profile she is lovely to watch go around. To be slightly critical she just needs to settle just a fraction coming towards. Moves away with good drive. Really liked her and despite her young age was happy to award her BOB in good company and subsequently group 2. 2. Charaki Bloom Fawn male. Another nice whippet of good breed type. Nothing overdone here. Good head, decent underjaw, good eye and good ears with thin leather. Good neck into well placed shoulders. Correct depth of chest. Well ribbed. Nicely arched over the loin. Moved well. 2. Galemira’s Pandora of Suranridge Nice brindle bitch with many attributes much like the first placed dog. Good length of head. Non-exaggerated topline, correct depth of chest and well angulated rear. For me she could have a fraction more upper arm length although is a lovely mover. Excellent neck into the best of shoulders. Clean front with enough bone and nice feet. Good depth of chest and well sprung and well ribbed back. Excels in the hindquarters. Moved very well. Good for size. Lovely head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Good bone. Nice hind angulation. Just levels off in topline for me. 3.Iscaglades Goldilocks.
AVNSC
PG. 1.Maudaxi Indy Rocknroll at Elsfie. PBGV. Very raw 6 month bitch. Has a lot of maturing and settling down to do. Her immaturity could have lost her a place here however I loved her head and expression. Head is of correct proportions and is typical petit. Good ears of ideal length. Good neck and shoulder. Level topline and good tail set. Tail of good length. Wouldn’t want her any longer, however. Well angulated rear. Super harsh jacket. 2. Soletrader Prue Leith. Much more mature than 1 and more developed in rib and shorter in loin. For me I would like her a fraction less broad in back skull. Neat ears. Would prefer a fraction more neck. Level topline with good well set tail of good length. In a very good jacket. Super bone and good feet. Moved well. 3. Saisaaren Leila
Open. 1. Ch Enkelini Hopeinen Ukkonen. I have judged this Finnish Spitz on a number of occasions and indeed he has been best of breed under me at least twice in fairly competitive entries. He is very typical in head. Lovely eye and correct ear. Well made although can at time stand slightly ten to two. Is is of good overall proportions, has a lovely tail set and his tail sits well on thigh. Today he is in full bloom with super coat and tail furnishings. Moved well and shortlisted in the group and rather unlucky not to place. 2. Ir Ch Aabidah De Polvo Magico. Sloughi. Pleased me for overall size and outline. Good length of head of appropriate proportions. Nicely refined muzzle. Correctly set eye. Nicely arched neck into good shoulders. Good bone, pasterns, and feet. Correctly ribbed and enough tuck up, decent hindquarters. Moved ok in front although moved a little too wide in the rear.
