Critique for Ruthin Canine Society 14/06/25

Thank you to the society for the invitation to judge, although entries were numerically small due to other shows, both open and champ I was still happy to have the chance and enjoyed going over the dogs presented to me

GWP, Jones Germanus Hotwyr Monaro, 3 year old male with good eye shape and colour, skull was slightly rounded with enough breadth. Plenty of face furnishings. Ample length of neck into well placed shoulders. He was in excellent condition and well-muscled. Strong in body with a deep chest. His coat was of correct length and texture. Moved out well BOB

Hungarian Vizla; PG 1st Williams & Gillards Bournehouse Romeo, 2 year old male. Pleasing in head which is in proportion, he is nicely balanced with good reach of neck leading into well placed shoulders. He has good depth to his ribs and plenty of substance. Moves out well when settled BOB 2nd Warners Nordicfield Desert Gold, 3yr old B and very feminine, she was pleasing to look at and go over, good proportions all through with good neck and shoulders and level topline which she kept on the move.

Open Hardcastle & Bradleys Castledogley Firenze JW; Good shape and size to this young B* with lovely feminine head and kind eye. She was nice and tight in front and plenty of depth. She was well ribbed and strong in the rear. Moved out well

Irish Setter PG 1st Corless Swiftlark Invincible JW, 4 year old Dog that is balanced throughout, his head is correct and had kind dark eyes. His neck is well muscled and had a good topline both stacked and on the move. Straight front with good bone, well angulated at the rear and moved true and steady

2nd Williams Alolfrana Dances For lavansands; 19 month B* who still has some maturing to do. Sweet head with pleasing expression. Good length of neck in to well placed shoulder. Had a good topline and well angulated, coat needs to come yet but she has time. moved ok

Open Corless. Swiftlark Spellbinder. 5 year old dog that presents a lovely profile when stacked nice head with lovely earset, he is correct in neck and has a good depth of chest and well muscled loin. Super bend of stifle on rear, was presented in lovely coat and condition and moved steadily round the ring. BOB

Pointer PG, Blakes Vadkartya’s Snipe, B/W boy at almost 3 years of age this dog is maturing nicely. Masculine but not coarse, good head proportions. Straight legs which were well boned and good depth to chest. He was well muscled all through, moved ok but would like a little more oomph

Open, Blakes Vadkartya’s Pipit litter sister to previous class winner, very feminine O/W B*, classic head with soft expression, she had good depth of chest and spring of rib. although carrying a tad too much weight. Good angles from rear and correct tail length. Moved well BOB

Weimaraner PG, Wests Gunalt Frequency By Hantu (JW) 19 month old B* who still has some maturing to do, that said she didn’t disappoint. She has a pleasant head and intelligent expression. Good clean neck into nicely made front, enough bone and tight feet. She moved out steady there and back with plenty of reach BOB

Open, Mcmahons IR SH CH Silverkelvin Jupiter over Magdala VW CW22. 7yr old dog Heavier all through than my previous class winner. He is well made throughout, masculine head and powerful neck. He has plenty of depth with well sprung ribs. Kept a level topline on the move
