Birmingham & District Gundog & Terrier Club

Birmingham & District Gundog & Terrier Club 28th September 25

Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge Cocker Spaniels & Pointers

Really pleased with my entry of 30 cockers and 18 pointers with minimum absentees, and obviously a huge thank you to the exhibitors for the privilege as without you there would be no shows.

Cocker Spaniels, on the whole temperaments were excellent as was quality. I did find a couple of incorrect mouths and also in my opinion a few were carrying too much weight.

Puppy (4) 1st Morris’ Riondel Masquerade in Blu, just coming up to 11 months and has lots of potential. Lovely head developing as it should, kind expressive eye with plenty of chiselling below. She is compact in body and short in loin and enough depth and rib. she moved out well there and back with an ever wagging tail BPIB

2nd, Wests Edasiy Dream Upon a Star by Sheigra (imp can) 9 month Golden dog who is balanced in head and had lovely eye colour and placement. He was clean in neck and shoulder and had good angles all through, well ribbed up and moved out true for and aft.

Junior 6 (1 abs) 1st Clellands Plaiglan Haribo, Masculine young Blue Roan dog, lovely head, dark eye and ears well set. Lovely front assembly, he was deep in brisket and held a strong topline one the move. Good rear angulation and in lovely coat and condition, moved out well.

2nd, Nicholas & Wildmans Oktumi Wishful Thinking, lovely Blue Roan Girl just coming into her own and has great potential, she is very feminine and has a lovely square outline and nicely balanced. Gentle expression from kind dark eye and well set ears. She is clean in neck and through her shoulders. Well boned legs and tight feet. Moved happily and steadily but not as positive on the move as my first placed in this class.

Novice 1, Nicholas & Wildmans Oktumi Wishful Thinking 2nd in the previous class, but improved and more settled in this class and deserved her 1st place

Graduate 5, (2abs) 1st Clellands Plaiglan Haribo, placed first in Junior

2nd, Sadlers Plaiglan taking Places with Tortspaws, young golden girl with a nice shape & colour eye, good head planes. Good neck and shoulder placement and enough bone and stood on tight feet. Moved well in good coat and condition

Post Graduate, 4 (2abs) 1st Sadlers Tortonvillas Tinkerbell 4yr old B/T girl very nicely made, correct eye shape and colour and set giving a lovely expression. Well set neck into good shoulders, she had enough spring of rib and depth. Good angles all through and stood on tight feet, moved well when settled

2nd Beddows Glowhill Stairway to Heaven, blue roan balanced dog with nice head, dark kind eye and well set ears giving a pleasing expression. Moderate in neck into well placed shoulders. Stood on good legs and feet, moved ok

Limit; 3 1st Marris-Brays Plaiglen Biker Babe to Helenwood, judged this black girl when she was a puppy and she has certainly filled her potential. She is balanced throughout and feminine, she has a sweet expression, correct eye set and colour. Strength in neck into correct topline both standing and on the move. Well boned legs and tight feet and moved with purpose and drive, in excellent coat & condition. BOB

2nd, Saunders Caramelfair Corocenzo at Oxfordogs, balanced blue dog with a well proportioned head but would prefer a little more stop, nice eye and well set ears giving a pleasing expression. He was clean in neck and shoulders and had good angulation all through. Kept a level topline on the move.

Open 5 (1 abs) 1st Shinkfield & Lesters Quettadene Queen of Stars JW. This young black girl certainly suits her name, she has a lovely head with dark expressive eyes and makes one melt when looking into them. She is balanced throughout and clean in outline. She is well boned without being heavy and has correct angles front and rear. In lovely coat and superb condition, moved out well fore and aft RBOB
