My sincere thanks to the committee for the honour of judging this wonderful breed at a club show, and the exhibitors for entering such superb hounds. Thank you to my steward and the committee for looking after me and making me so welcome.

All exhibits displayed super temperament and were well presented. The quality among this numerically small breed always impresses me, and it must surely be a reflection of how the breeders work together and support each other, which was evident while judging.

Baby Puppy D/B

1st Gold’s Ravenheim Blue Mystique Of Llassah 

A super young lady, who at 5 mths old displayed beautiful balance. Good head shape with lovely expression, coming from correct eyes and high ear set.  Stood on lovely feet with nice length of leg.  Good tail set. Held a good topline for age, with correct angulation which reflected on the move with a lovely side gait and good foot placement. Will look forward to watching how she progresses. BBPIS

1st Stephenson’s Kamgaard Kyffin For Brawdor

Promising 11 mth old, who made his handler work hard but once in his stride he was true fore and aft with correct side gait.  Lovely overall shape with correct angulation, good topline and short coupled with well let down hocks.  Pleasing clean head, at that in-between stage from puppy to teenager, but good proportions and correct eye and colouring. 1st Cuss’ Norvin Krackjen

Nicely maturing male, reflected in his pleasing head of nice proportions and good expression coming from nice dark eye. Nicely balanced angulation with short coupling and well set tail.  Good width to body for age. Moved with a nice free gait, showing drive and maintaining his topline.

1st Middleton’s Graythor Broadway

This masculine hound appealed greatly.  Lovely square outline coming from well-balanced angulation, level topline and short coupling, with a tightly curled tail.  Correct shaped head, dark eyes and small ears gave him a lively intelligent expression, carried high on strong neck.  Nicely let down hocks and correct feet. Moved out well with good footfall and very true fore and aft with an effortless stride and good convergence.  Pleased to award him BD. RBIS

2nd Cuss’ Norvin Orkla

Heavier all through but nicely compact with pleasing proportions.  Nice expression with well set ears.  Strong neck, nice lay of shoulder and a strong topline  which he held on the move.  Good depth and balanced rear angulation.  He moved smoothly, showing lovely reach and drive.

1st Simms’ CH Aftonlee Aros At Elverdal 

Mature hound presented in superb condition, with a lovely overall compact shape.  Correct head of good proportions with well set eye and small ears.  Nice reach of neck, with good length of leg but maintaining correct depth of body.  Strong topline and short coupled.  Good tail carriage, with balanced rear angulation.   Won on movement with a very easy stride and correct footfall. RBD

2nd Hennessey’s Laakso Esko At Elskerdeg

This boy had such character, which just shone through.  Pleasing shape with good depth and width, and nicely coupled.  Masculine head on good lines and correct eye.  Balanced angulation with well let down hocks.  Good tail set and held topline.  Moved out well showing reach and drive. 

Special Veteran Dog (7 to 10 yrs)

1st Simms’ CH Seasara Earl Grey

Quality masculine 8.5yr old.  Super head of good proportions, giving a typical expression.  Correct eye and ears.  Powerful neck leading to good angulation, nice length of leg. Good topline, and coupling, with correct tail set and carriage. Balanced rear angulation, well let down hocks and moved true with lovely reach and drive.

2nd Stephenson’s Bowerhinton Bangalore At. Brawdor VW

Nice overall shape and presented in hard condition with a good coat.  Correct eye, with a glint of cheekiness. Good neck, nice length of leg with pleasing depth and length of body and topline.  Good tail set and correct carriage. Enjoyed his day and when he settled he used his balanced angulation well on the move.

1st Tress’ CH Grasilva Little Rock Avec Gilkaro JW

Superb 10 yr old who is a credit to his owner.  Correct shape all through and presented in super condition with a good coat.  Good head  and dark eye with correctly sized ears.  Good reach of neck leading to strong topline and short coupling.  Good tail set and carriage.  Nice depth and length of leg, good feet and balanced angulation front and back.  Well let down hocks and good second thigh, moved out well with correct side gait and foot fall.  BVD. BVIS

1st Gilbert’s Bowerhinton Bailey Grace For Balsemas

Very pretty bitch made on lovely lines.  She stood four square and when she settled she moved beautifully with an easy ground covering stride with good footfall.  Good head and super expression from dark eye and good earset.  Nicely balanced throughout, with good topline and tail set and carriage.  BPB.  BPIS

1st Simmonds & Mott’s Kamgaard Kariad

Feminine compact 11 mth old with lots of qualities I liked.  Typical head of good proportions with correct dark eye.  Good carriage coming from correct reach of neck leading to lovely angulation and nice proportions through the body.  Correct rear with good tail set and carriage.  Moved out well and true fore and aft.

1st Clark’s Bowerhinton Bowtruckle Rollssupreme NAF

A very smart young lady of 15mths, full of breed type.  Presented a super shape and moved very true with a good topline and strong coupling.  Good head, with dark eye and correct high set ears.  Pleasing length of neck with balanced angulation and nicely boned.  Good depth and length, and balanced rear with with well let down hocks. 

Special Yearling Bitch 

1st Threadgold’s Laakso Katja

Quality bitch who moved out well, showing excellent reach and drive giving her a free ground covering stride due to a correct lay of shoulder, good rear angulation and well let down hocks. Feminine head with super expression, maturing nicely with dark eye and nicely sized ears. Compact square shape, correct depth and length of leg, strong topline and excellent tail set. A pleasure to award her RBB.

1st Middleton’s Kamgaard Kadence At Graythor

This pretty 2 yr old bitch had every trick in the book with fidgeting and pacing, but when she concentrated she came into her own showing her lovely correct stamp and super movement with an effortless stride, correct footfall and convergence, which led to winning BB. Super expression coming from a head of good proportions, a dark eye conveying character and correct ears.  Powerful neck leading to correct shoulder angulation, with straight leg and good feet.  Correct body width and depth with short coupling.  Strong topline, correct tail set and carriage.  Balanced rear angulation, good second thigh and well let down enabling drive. In the final challenge she really showed what she was made of and I was pleased to award BIS.

1st Simmonds & Mott’s CH/AM CH Kamgaard Klementina (Imp. USA)  

A very smart mature bitch built on quality lines.  Beautiful head of good proportions with well set eye.  Pleasing length of neck.  Balanced length of leg, straight bone, with correct depth of body.  Maintained a strong topline and short coupled.  Good tail carriage and set.  Good angulation fore and aft.   Moved well with a clean action and balanced side gait.

Three super girls who were all a credit to their owners and enjoying their time in the ring.

1st Hennsey’s Bowerhinton Bombette

Nearly 10 yrs young, presented in super condition and having a great time in the ring.  She moved out with drive and had an easy gait with good footfall and strong topline.  Nicely proportioned feminine head with good eye set.  Balanced angulation fore and aft, with straight bone and correct  depth and length to body.  BVB

2nd Tress’ Treskha Just The One

Lovely 8 year old with super expression coming from correct head with good eye and ear set.  Strong neck leading to balanced angulation with correct length of leg.  Good shape and strong top line, with good tail set and carriage.  Well let down hocks.  Moved out nicely, with a pleasing side gait. 

Special Veteran Bitch (10 yrs plus)

1st Gilbert’s Rothenborg Nanya For Balsemasi 

Beautiful bitch of nearly 13 years old and enjoying her day out.  A wonderful expression coming correctly shaped head, bright dark eye and good ear set.  Compact shape and stood on good feet and strong topline.  Good tail set and carriage. Standing four square from good angulation   and very true on the move. As the Oldest Veteran In Show she was a credit to her owner.
