Hound Club Of East Anglia

A lovely friendly show with some super hounds on display. Unfortunately, as the afternoon went on the sun went in and the cold wind got up which did no favours to some of the hounds (or handlers!), I am sure some of the thinner coated/skinned breeds would have done much better had the sun stay out!

AV Puppy Stakes – 12 entries, 7 absent

1. Clanwillow All That Jazz – 6m tri basset hound bitch with a good head, tight eye, good length of neck leading into good shoulders. Well wrapped around front with good length of leg to give her excellent movement. So sound with good reach and drive. Should do well.

2. Delsaux Life Goes On at Kindace – SR 8 month LH Dachshund dog with a good head and eye, good length of neck leading into ok shoulders but would prefer more layback and a longer upper arm. Ok ribbing. Balanced rear. Moves out well with some drive.

3. Tervanty Dream of Dragons at Scarletfair

AV Special Yearling Stakes – 13 entries, 4 absent

1. Ardencote Dance A Dream at Chipperlake – 14m F&W whippet bitch of a good type, excellent head and ear, good neck leading into well laid shoulders, good ribbing, very good rear. Moved soundly with correct reach and drive in profile, the cold wind was doing her no favours but when she relaxed she looked a picture.

2. Carlincox Don’t Knock It – Lovely Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch, compact, good head but would prefer slightly more foreface. Good shoulders, well ribbed back, excellent rear which she used so well on the move.

3. Clanwillow Fire and Ice

AV Post Graduate Stakes – 10 entries, 6 absent

1. Boughton Back In Time – 14m brindle greyhound bitch who has a beautiful head and eyte, good neck, excellent shoulders, good ribbing extending well back. Ok rear. Moved well in profile but could be cleaner going away.

2. Whitewebbs Jonny Be Good at Willowmist – Red Mini Wire Dachshund dog who has a good head, decent length neck, good shoulders with plenty of prosternum. Ribbing ok. Slightly erratic on the move at times.

3. Une Daphne Des Vallees Longeronnaises With Bleucolline (IMP FRA)

AV Open – 6 entries, 2 absent

1. Wilmit Mirabelle got Boneveon – PBGV bitch of an excellent size and type, very good on the move, in excellent coat. Good head & ear. Tended to turn front legs out a bit on the stack but true on the move. Excellent rear.

2. Kindace Hit The Road Jack JW – S/R LH Dachshund male, good head and neck, a little upright in shoulder and could use longer ribbing. Very good rear. Moves soundly with drive from behind.

3. Armadio Ride Like The Wind Among Kumamatata JW

AV Special Racing/Lure Coursing – 10 entries, 6 absent

1. Denimblue Willdo JW – Blue with white trim whippet dog who is all male, top size. Good conformation, lovely head, curvy. Super on the move and so well muscled.

2. Zoraden Bright Star – Fawn & white whippet dog, preferred this dog for size, excellent head and neck, good shoulders, well ribbed back. Good rear. Moved soundly but preferred the reach and drive of 1.

3. Shockwave Onyx

Best In Show

Thank you to the breed judges for putting some super hounds through to BIS, it was a real delight to judge and although by the time we got there it was cold and drizzly the dogs all put on a good performance.

1. Laakso Esko – Loved this unexaggerated Norwegian Elkhound dog, super head with good ears, good neck leading into well angulated shoulders, good ribbing and correct rear. In good coat and held his tail well. So sound on the move and never stopped showing.

2. Crosscop California Barbie from Supeta JW – Beautiful fawn Whippet bitch who showed so well despite the cold. Excellent for size, so good on the move and good angulation both ends. Very close up.

3. LUX CH Way Up Radio Waves (IMP ITA) LUX JCH – Impressive Black masked gold Afghan male in excellent coat and condition. Attractive head, lengthy neck, good angulation both ends. Looks a picture stacked and powered round the ring in profile.

4. Lelaps King In The North – Smart Finnish Spitz male who is still young and needing to mature but he impressed me for angulation, correct head and expression and sound typical movement. Super temperament. I’m sure he will make his mark on this lovely breed in time.

Best Puppy in Show

1. Crosscop Seduction – Aptly named beautiful Whippet bitch, so stylish. Excellent for size, good head and ear, lengthy neck leading into good shoulders, good ribbing, excellent rear. Moves so well for a baby and stands over plenty of ground.

2. Kinabula’s Making Magick for Faahac – This impressive Rhodesian Ridgeback pushed all the way, lovely to go over and presented an impressive outline on the stack. His movement was true and ground covering. Another who I am sure will go far.

3. Drishaun Consider This Baby – Lovely Afghan Hound baby who has a good head, lengthy neck leading into good shoulders, decent ribbing, well angulated rear. Needs to settle on the move as you’d expect but covers plenty of ground in profile and I am sure one who will do well.

4. Rangali Heihei – Smart BFDB who is a real baby but shows lots of promise. Lovely head, good neck, decent shoulders, good ribbing and a well angulated rear. Moved well covering the ground in profile. Super temperament.

1. CH Rangali Tigger – Such a lovely BFDB dog who never stopped showing belying his years. He is in fabulous condition and was expertly handled. 2. Woodella Purple Haze over Cooperland ShCM VW – Lovely Tri Basenji bitch who wasn’t keen on the cold but shows good breed type, good head with desired expression, good length of neck, well angulated fore and aft, pliant skin, correct proportions and a good tail. Moved very well in profile and true coming and going.
