1st – Reid’s Rhodenash Kandoo Krunchie at Hugueboogie

A very appealing 12-month-old pale fawn male, presenting a most typical outline. He excels in head properties, displaying a large, round head with good width of skull, well-defined wrinkle, and a short, square muzzle of correct proportions. His eyes are dark, large with a soft, melting expression Excellent pigment throughout, complemented by well-opened nostrils.

He stands on a straight front with sufficient bone, well under his body, and carries a firm, level topline which he maintains both standing and on the move. His body is short and cobby with good rib, giving that compact, square appearance. Rear construction is sound with good angulation, enabling him to move with purpose and true tracking. His coat is fine, smooth, soft and glossy, lying close to the body. Finished with a well-set, tight single curl tail. Moved freely and showed to advantage throughout at one with his handler.

2nd – Ralph’s Tsuselena Black Raven

A10-month-old black male of pleasing type. He carries a well-balanced head with good breadth and correct proportions, complemented by dark, expressive eyes and good pigment. His coat is of correct texture and density for a black, soft, smooth enhancing his outline.

He presents a level topline and a compact, cobby body, with a well-set high tail forming a double curl, which is a desirable feature. He moved soundly around the ring, showing good carriage. On this occasion, he was a little unsettled at times, intermittently showing his tongue, which detracted from his overall expression.

Post Graduate (2,0)

1st – Dean’s Jobeile Ant Struithain at Uisdean JW

An attractive 18-month-old fawn male of excellent breed type and balance. He particularly appealed for his head, which is large and well-rounded with good wrinkle, a short square muzzle, and excellent dark, expressive eyes. His pigment is strong and nostrils well open, contributing to both correct expression and functionality.

He possesses a firm, level topline and has a compact, cobby frame with good rib and substance. His tail is high set with a desirable double curl. His coat is of excellent quality—fine, smooth and lying close, giving the impression it has been “sprayed on.” He stands true in front with good bone and straight forelegs, and his rear construction is well made, allowing him to move with drive and purpose once settled. A well-presented and balanced exhibit.

1st – Ferguson’s Ch Rhodenash Dream Date with Tartanmops

A 5-year-old pale fawn male of quality and undeniable breed type, and one I have admired from the ringside. He presents a truly glorious head, large, round and full of character, with excellent wrinkle, a short square muzzle, and large, dark, lustrous eyes giving that classic soft expression. His pigment is excellent, nostrils well open, and he carries neat button ears.

He has a well-arched neck flowing into a firm, level topline, which he holds at all times. His body is short and cobby, with excellent rib and substance, giving the correct square profile. His tail is high set and tightly curled. He stands on a straight front with good bone, and his rear assembly is strong and well angulated.

His coat is textbook—fine, smooth, soft and glossy—with clear colour and even showing a defined trace. He moves soundly with purpose, maintaining his topline and balance, and carries himself with great presence and dignity. He was at one with his handler who clearly adores him. A worthy Champion. Best of Breed.

2nd – Cunningham’s Moyard Storm Catcher

A 5-year-old fawn female of lovely feminine type and quality. She has a particularly pretty head, well proportioned with a soft expression, dark eyes, good pigment and well-opened nostrils. Her buttons ears are neat and well pigmented .

She is well balanced throughout with a firm, level topline which she maintains consistently. Her body is compact and cobby with good ribbing. She stands true in front and carries a well-set, high single curl tail. Her coat is of excellent texture—fine, smooth and glossy.

She moved soundly and with purpose, holding her shape well on the move. Unfortunate to meet such a strong winner on the day, as she is a quality girl and a credit to her owner/breeder.
