GUILDFORD & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY (1/3/2025)

Firstly, I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge our beloved breed at their wonderful show. The ring was of good size, enabling me to get the exhibits moving as they should. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for entering under me and being so accepting of my decisions on the day. A special mention to my lovely steward Tracey for keeping the ring flowing and all her help.

PUPPY (1)

1st Penn, Mrs M L & Mr A J – Dalarisa Spring In Her Step, 10mth old lightly spotted B/B of nice type. Feminine head with well set ears, would prefer slightly darker eye but this is just a preference. Lovely expression, correct scissor bite. Long neck into slightly upright shoulders, enough bone without being overdone, straight front, level topline which she held on the move. Correct tail set, overall balance but just needs to mature a bit more. Moved well.

BPIB and thrilled to watch her got Puppy group 3!

JUNIOR (3)

1st Fanton & Bull, Miss L & Mr A – Hafwenna Xenophilius, 13mth old black boy who really pulled out all the stops in his class. All male without being overdone, head of correct proportions, ears well set and used well, dark eye. Long neck into correct shoulders, leading to nice chest and front. Level topline which he held on the move but on occasion sat back a little too much losing it on the stand, overall balanced angulation front and rear, correct tailset. Pushed hard in the challenge.

2nd Bezer, Miss A – Hafwenna Ravenclaw, litter sister to 1st so much of my comments apply to her also, feminine head and well set ears that she used well. Lovely expression, correct scissor bite. Overall, she is balanced throughout and only lost out to her brother on the move as she was being rather uncooperative and excited which isn’t a bad thing! The owner told me it was only her 3rd show so keep going as she is one I will watch.

3rd Penn, Mrs M L & Mr A J – Dalarisa Spring In Her Step.

POST GRADUATE (4)

1st Pace, Miss N – Sadiedel’s Arab Girl JW, I have judged this beautiful girl before, as a puppy and she has matured beautifully. Now nearly 2years old everything is coming together as I thought when she was younger. I have watched her ringside and today she didn’t disappoint! Beautiful feminine head with well broken ears that she used all the time, lovely dark eye with a really cheeky expression and correct scissor bite. Long elegant neck leading to correct lay of shoulder, front and chest of correct depth for our breed giving plenty of heart and lung room, nice legs with tight cat feet. Level topline which she held at all times, correct tailset, balanced overall with angulation front and rear matching. She came into her own on the move with reach and drive aplenty. I was pleased to award her BOB.

2nd Barnett, Miss N – Salvadorada Happy Go Lucky, another lovely girl who I have judged before and she was unlucky to be against 1st today. Slightly finer in frame to 1. Ultra feminine head with lovely spotted ears, nice dark eye and correct scissor bite. Elegant neck leading to correct shoulder, nice front and tight cat feet. Level topline that was held on the move with correct tailset. Overall balance in the girl is correct and she moved well.

3rd Claesen, Miss S & Dr J R – Dalstorm Just Giving.

OPEN (5)

1st Finch & Bonner, Miss S D & Mr J K E – Sophtspot Kalamity Jane With Dalticino, lovely 6yr old B/B that isn’t showing any signs of her age especially on the move! Another with a feminine head, well broken ears that she used well giving her a lovely expression, dark eye and correct scissor bite. Long neck into correct shoulders, nice front, deep chest and good legs. Nice tight cat feet. Level topline that she didn’t lose on the move, with a well set tail. Rear angulation matched front with enabled this girl to really show her reach and drive on the move. She was a worthy RBOB who pushed my BOB today, she just lost out to the younger of them both. Handled beautifully by a young handler who I just have to give a special mention to. I was told later that they haven’t been showing that long together but their bond is clear for everyone to see. Keep going young lady!

2nd Tysterman, Mrs J & Mr W – Carodal Jacobs Ladder, 3yr old liver bitch, lovely feminine head, well set ears, lovely amber eye and correct scissor bite. Nice neck leading to correct lay of shoulder, deep chest and good front, level topline, correct tail set. Front and rear angulation matching allowing her to move with drive from behind. Deep liver pigment. Just preferred the reach and drive of 1st today.

3rd Pace, Miss N – Dalcatori Morganite Rosa Del Brondelvcede.
