I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Perthshire Canine Club committee for their warm hospitality and for organising such a well-run and enjoyable show. Thank you also to all the exhibitors for their entries, it was an absolute privilege to judge your dogs. The overall quality was outstanding, making for some incredibly tough decisions. I was absolutely thrilled to see my BOB go on to win Utility Group 1, and my BP go on to win Utility Puppy Group 3, Utility Special Minor Puppy Group 1 and Reserve Best Special Minor Puppy in Show.

TIBETAN SPANIEL

PUPPY

1st: Duncan’s, SUSU APPLEY EVER AFTER; Gold Sable & Black Mask, a very promising 8 month dog displaying excellent breed type, with a confident and outgoing attitude. Balanced and compact with a well-proportioned head, superb pigmentation and dark expressive eyes of correct shape and size. Correct mouth with excellent width and depth of chin. Moved well, in excellent coat and presented in top condition. He shows exciting promise for the future and is certainly one to watch with interest. BP. Delighted to see him go on to win Utility Puppy Group 3, Utility Special Minor Puppy Group 1 and Reserve Best Special Minor Puppy in Show.

2nd: Kerr’s, VONVUE WARRIOR CHIEF; Fawn Sable Black Mask, well-presented and well-handled 9 month dog exhibiting good breed characteristics. Pleasing head with a charming expression, dark oval and expressive eyes. Slightly short in muzzle, but muzzle well cushioned with excellent depth and width of chin. Correct bite. In beautiful coat and condition with correct tail set and carriage. Overall outline shows promise, just needs time to mature to reach his full potential. Took time to settle on the move today, but with time and further development, this puppy has the potential to improve and truly come into his own.

JUNIOR

1st: McDonald’s, BALGAY GOLDEN TICKET (A.I.); Gold Sable with White Markings, a lovely example of excellent type, presented in immaculate condition. Strong pigmentation with correct shaped, dark expressive eyes. Well cushioned muzzle of correct length, with good width of chin and correct bite. Skull slightly domed of correct shape and size, masculine but not overdone. Well-set and carried ears complementing his overall head structure. Lovely hare feet and ear fringing. Good length of ribcage, ensuring correct proportions and structure. Excellent balance throughout body. Good angulation presenting a typical outline. Free and positive movement, demonstrating good reach and drive.

2nd: McDonald’s & O’Brien’s, BALGAY GOLD DIGGA; Gold Sable & Black Mask, a well-balanced and feminine young bitch who presents a pleasing overall outline. She displays a soft, typical expression with dark, well-set eyes and correctly shaped ears, enhancing her typical head. Head is of correct proportions and size, with a moderate stop and good cushioning to muzzle. Well angulated both fore and aft, allowing for smooth and flowing movement. She maintains a level topline on the move and her tail is correctly set and carried. A quality youngster showing promise for the future.

LIMIT

1st: Campbell’s, TULIBELL BAD HABITS (JW); Fawn Sable Black Mask, a refined bitch of excellent breed type, presenting a clean and balanced outline with correct proportions. Soft, feminine expression, enhanced by dark, oval eyes and well-set ears that frame an incredibly attractive and well-proportioned head. Muzzle of medium length, blunt with good cushioning and free from wrinkle. Chin shows pleasing depth and width, contributing to her overall balance. Moderate bone with good angulation fore and aft, enabling smooth, precise movement. Slight bow to front with well laid shoulder, leading into a level topline held well on the move. Well-furnished and shown in superb coat and condition. She exudes poise, elegance and true breed character.

2nd: Adams’, BALGAY THEN THUK; Gold Sable & Black Mask, a well-balanced bitch of correct breed type, with slightly domed skull, well-proportioned muzzle and good cushioning. Soft, feminine expression framed by dark eyes and well-set ears. Moderate bone throughout adding to a balanced appearance and outline. Positive and free movement with good reach and drive. Slight bow to forelegs with well laid shoulder and good spring of rib, contributing to her overall balance and structure. A quality female, presented in excellent coat and condition with good furnishings. Very pleasing overall.

OPEN

1st: Adams’ CH BALGAY OKURIMONO; Fawn Sable Black Mask, a simply stunning bitch, exemplifying the most beautiful and typical Tibetan expression. Ultra feminine head with correct length of muzzle and strong well set on neck. Dark oval, expressive eyes, correct mouth and excellent depth and width of chin. Well-set and carried ears of correct size and shape. Well-constructed with excellent angulation, contributing to her overall balance and structure. Good spring of rib and a firm level topline held steadily and correctly on the move. Excellent tail carriage, presented in superb condition with a lovely coat of correct texture and sufficient feathering, which enhances her elegance without excess. She shows her full potential on the move, displaying a free, effortless stride that covers the ground with ease, highlighting her outstanding balance and quality throughout. BOB and I was delighted to see her go on to win Utility Group 1.

2nd: McDonald’s, CH BALGAY DRU MA (JW); Silver Sable & White, a quality male of excellent breed type, presented in superb coat and condition. He excels in head properties with a slightly domed skull, well-set ears, and a plush, cushioned muzzle. Dark oval eyes and well-set ears contribute to a gentle and typical expression. Well proportioned throughout with a good depth of chest, well-laid shoulders, and a moderate bend to stifle, all contributing to his balanced outline. Moved with soundness and intent, maintaining his outline throughout and clearly reflecting his overall quality.
