I wish to extend my sincere gratitude to the Coventry & Nuneaton District Kennel Association committee for the honour of judging Tibetan Spaniels at their open show. It was a true pleasure to assess such a strong and impeccably presented entry, showcasing the dedication and passion of the exhibitors. My heartfelt thanks go to all exhibitors for presenting their dogs in excellent condition, making the judging experience both rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable. I was delighted to see my BOB winner go onto be awarded Utility Group 4 and my BP winner go onto achieve Utility Puppy Group 3.

TIBETAN SPANIEL

PUPPY

1st: Collins’, SUSU BANANA PARTI BOAT AT TEPHITI; a confident and well-balanced 8 month old male, exhibiting excellent breed type and presence. Presents a moderately proportioned outline with correct angulation both front and rear. Strong pigmentation throughout. Head well shaped with dark, oval eyes and a typical, alert expression, framed by well-set, feathered ears. Correct tail set that complements his flowing outline. Moved freely and confidently, displaying good reach and drive. Shown in immaculate coat and condition. Pleased to award him BP and thrilled to see him go onto win Utility Puppy Group 3. A very promising youngster with a bright future ahead.

2nd: Emery’s, LACORAL COSMOS; a well-balanced male with a pleasing outline and strong underlying structure. Displays good depth of chest and correct angulation both front and rear. Head well-proportioned with dark, oval eyes giving an alert and engaging expression. Displays a well-cushioned muzzle and strong chin which contribute to correct breed type. Slight bow in front with well-laid shoulders and a level topline maintained on the move. Although he took a moment to settle, once in stride his gait was free and positive. A promising puppy with excellent potential as he continues to mature.

POST GRADUATE

1st: Tyler’s, MULLTYE ROL MO; a quality male presenting a soft yet masculine expression, enhanced by strong pigmentation. Skull and muzzle well proportioned, with correct mouth and excellent width and depth of chin, contributing to a balanced and typical head. Shoulders well-laid, enabling free, confident movement with a smooth, effortless stride and good rear drive. Exhibits excellent bone throughout, strong without any hint of coarseness. Neck moderately short and well-set on. Good spring of rib providing depth, while maintaining his clean and flowing outline. Correctly shaped hare feet. Coat presented in good condition with correct texture. A sound, well-constructed and typical example of the breed.

2nd: Brandrick’s, GIANNI ITSPETTICOATTAYLES AMONG LILLINCA; a balanced bitch displaying an alert and feminine expression. Skull slightly domed, with moderate width and length, and a gentle yet clearly defined stop. Eyes oval and expressive, conveying an attentive and characteristic look. Ears well-set with delicate ear fringing, carried with a slight lift from the skull, perfectly complementing her head shape and enhancing her true Tibetan expression. Correct hare feet. Well-developed ribcage providing correct proportions and sound structure. Moved steadily and confidently. A promising bitch possessing many admirable qualities.

LIMIT

1st: Rice’s, RICOX I DESERVE YOUR LOVE; a striking male of excellent breed type, exhibiting a well-balanced and masculine outline. Head well-sculpted and expressive, blending masculine substance with breed typical refinement. Strong pigmentation. Well-set and nicely feathered ears, complementing his head and contributing to a typical outline. Well-cushioned muzzle with pleasing chin depth and width. Strong neck of moderate length. Well boned without heaviness. Elbows held close to the body. Forequarters well-laid back and good rear angulation providing sound drive. Moved freely and confidently, maintaining a level topline and correct tail carriage. Coat of correct texture and presented in excellent condition. Pleased to award him RBOB.

2nd: Simper & Scoates’, CLYDUM COUNTRY LASS; a well-balanced bitch exhibiting a soft, expressive head with correctly set ears, carried with a slight lift from the skull. Head well-shaped and appropriately small in proportion to body. Blunt and well cushioned muzzle of correct length. Correct hare feet. Moderate bone throughout. Forelegs show a slight bow but remain firm at well-laid shoulders. Well-constructed and strong hindquarters with well let down hocks and a moderate turn of stifle, contributing to her free and positive movement. Correctly set, richly feathered tail, carried in typical breed fashion, perfectly completes her balanced outline and harmonious structure.

OPEN

1st: Brandrick’s, LILLINCA BEES BLISS; described in my notes as “simply stunning” in outline and overall balance, this ultra-feminine bitch exemplifies quintessential breed type, combining elegance with sound construction. Well-set ears frame a beautifully proportioned head, featuring a slightly domed skull and blunt muzzle of correct length, well-cushioned and true to type. Immaculate condition with coat of correct texture and abundant furnishings. Elegantly feathered ears enhance her refined, feminine expression, without exaggeration. Forelegs show a slight bow, paired with well-laid shoulders, creating a pleasing front assembly. Well-constructed with excellent angulation throughout. Tight elbows reinforce firm, well-set forequarters. Good spring of rib support a firm, level topline maintained steadily on the move. Tail correctly set and gracefully carried, completing a flowing, elegant outline. Moderate bone and well-matched angulation fore and aft. On the move, she demonstrates an effortless, purposeful gait, underscoring her overall quality and soundness. Exemplifying unmistakable breed type and quality, she was a thoroughly deserving winner of the class and BOB. Delighted to see her go onto be awarded Utility Group 4.

2nd: Simper & Scoates’, CLYDUM HERE COMES EDNA; a well-constructed and feminine bitch of good overall type. Very attractive head with correct proportions, dark expressive eyes, and well-set, feathered ears, set fairly high with a slight lift from the skull, contributing to a typical Tibetan expression. Muzzle showed adequate cushioning and a firm underjaw. Clean neck flowing into well-laid shoulders. Level topline held on the move. Excellent balance throughout body with good depth of rib. Balanced rear quarters with moderate angulation and strength behind, leading to free and positive movement. Correct hare feet. Coat of correct texture with good furnishings, enhancing her overall finish. Moved with a free, sound gait, demonstrating good reach and drive. A bitch of considerable merit, presented in excellent condition.
