Cocker Spaniel

Puppy 4(1)

1st Griffin – Griffial Back to Black

I preferred the topline at this stage on this one over 2nd , she gave a lovely well balanced outline nicely compact. Lovely pretty head with just the correct amount of stop with a good strong square muzzle, clean eyes of good shape and colour giving a delightful expression. Good layback of shoulder giving nice front angulation, lovely tight feet. Moved with drive and character coming through. Best Puppy & 4th in the Gundog Puppy Group.

2nd Hutton-Baber – Babtonkelpie Gally Queen.

Slightly heavier all round than the winner, and at an in-between stage at the moment. Didn’t think the head quite as good as the winner although both babies so will change as they grow on. Lovely good length of topline with good strong short loin, good depth of chest. Moved well.

Junior 6 (2)

1st Gray – Purdyspride Rave on

Both very nice youngsters – just preferred the head on 1st slightly better. Lovely melting expression with correct square muzzle with good stop nicely chiseled head . Lovely tidy tight, allowing good movement with correct drive from rear. Nice compact shape with good level topline on the move. Correct front angulation and good drive from rear, chest well developed and deep brisktet, correct compact body. Moved with such style and merriment, in lovely coat and condition. BOB & Gundog Group 1

At 13mths still such a baby and time on his side. He was much better on the move once settled, nice substance to body with good front angulation and correct set on tail.

Puppy 7 (1)

1st Busby – Stanegate Sweet Dreams at Zakby – Irish Water Spaniel

Just 6mths old but wow what a stunner, just loved her from the moment she walked in the ring, she didn’t disappoint when going over her – lovely substance to her but still keeping the feminineness of her, still needs to grow on but as just 6mths just right at the moment. Good tight feet. Eye shape and colour correct and such a lovely expression to her. Moved in front true and straight with an elegance to her even at this age that just makes you stop and look, slightly loose at rear but that will tighten with age and muscle. BP RBOB & Gundog Puppy Group 2

2nd Bishop – Bedeslea Prada Linea Rossa – Lagotto Romagnolo

Good shape filling the eye when you look at her, nice coat with correct texture for the age. Elbows nice and closely fitting with good upper arm length and correct shoulder angles and length. Good strong compact body and correct height to length. Moved nice and true for a youngster.

Puppy 4

1st Ball Stearstone Live in the Dream at Fivelms

Well, what a fab name for her - she really has a bright future – just loved her – balance throughout and a flow to her movement that shows all in the right places. Lovely eye and correct pigmentation giving her a lovely expression, good head with just the right amount of chiseling to give a balanced broadness without coarseness. The best feet from well boned front legs, shoulder good with good upper arm allowing for good reach of stride. Delighted to give her BP & RBOB as well as Puppy Group 1 where she really stretched out and smoothly covered the ring well.

2nd Todd – Xanadu with Toddrosa of Sunshine’s Valley (Imp Bel)

Another lovely baby who was just not as balanced as 1, slightly looser throughout but as a baby time will sort that. Lovely size and length ratio to him giving him a balanced outline when stacked, nice shoulder placement and good strong straight forelegs. Slightly finer in muzzle than I would like but gentle expression.

Junior 3 (2)

1st Hutchinson – Cuckmere September Skies

Good size and substance. Slightly narrow in front, lovely shoulder angulation with good front bone good strong feet. Head slightly heavier head for a bitch. Straight front action with good reach, rear nice shape just needs more tone to give a better rear drive, hock correct and lovely tail set.

Post Graduate 5 (2)

1st Gulliver – Tonara Moon Walk

Good shape and size, just enough substance without going corse or overdone. Correct leg height to body depth. Rear angulation lovely with great drive from rear. Held topline on the move well. Good eye and correct pigment, especially lovely nose setting off a lovely head with good chiseling but substance to it with good deep muzzle. Moved with style and flow. BOB & Group 3

English Springer Spaniels

Can I firstly say what a delight this entry was – so many totally wonderful examples of the breed and I was really spoilt for choice in many of my classes so thank you so much for the support.

Puppy 6 (1)

What a cracking class – made my job extremely hard and really was nit- picking between them all. They could easily swop places many times over and I am sure they will/do. Really good prospects for the breed and must be exciting to have such quality in your youngsters.

1st Walker – Daenerys Catching Fire at Dexbenella

What a cracking boy this dog is, nothing exaggerated in any way, just really balanced and fits together so well. Lovely expression and good depth of muzzle and correct stop leading to slightly rounded broad skull with nice angles into the occiput, but not corse or overdone. Chiseling under eye correct and in right proportions to give the correct look, eyes are lovely almond shape and are well set. Nice length neck with correct shoulder placement with nice sloping shoulders and good return of upper arm. Body strong and muscular with good depth of chest and muscular loin allowing for great drive from rear with good correct pasterns.

2nd Walker – Dexbenella Livin the Dream

Another of top class quality, just at this age the head is still developing and not quite as settled as 1, but you can see it is all there to come just not quite on the day ready but I am sure will have a wonderful career. Lovely strong front to him and good reach of neck from correct laid shoulders, really excelled in front movement with great foreleg stride. Good spring of rib and nice correct deep rib, loin muscular allowing for topline to be held well on the move. Lovely tight feet and good length of hock with good drive from a good powerful rear.

 Junior 2

Again a superb class of quality – both girls are clearly well made and so sound, a real joy to go over them and totally spoilt for choice. Beautiful heads on both, I just preferred the head and expression on the 1st girl which won her the class and ultimately BP and Puppy Group 3 .

1st Walker – Dexbenella a Million Dreams

1st has the most elegant of movement, yes she mucked about a bit on the move but a puppy is a puppy, but nothing can take away from the sheer class she showed throughout, femine but strong, built for endurance but not overdone, and the sweetest of expressions that just melts you. Lovely deep chest and plenty of spring to allow for good heart room lovely strong loin and correct drive from rear. BP & Puppy Group 3

2nd Nicklin – Daenerys Girl on Fire at Dexbenella

Slightly heavier than 1 with a taller frame to her, needs time to settle down into her body a bit more. But everything is there ready just time to allow it all to come together .

Post Graduate 5(2)

At the risk of repeating myself – wow what a lovely class again! Splitting hairs between them both.

1st Bellamy – Dexbenella in My Dreams with Moontorn JW

Loved her type and substance throughout giving strength to her. Lovely head and expression, good eye shape and colour. Lovely shoulders and good straight front legs allowing for that typical springer front action, nice tight feet with good pads. Well sprung ribs and good depth of chest , loin correct and lovely croup to her with good tail set and that ever wagging tale! Nice hock with good reach and drive from rear. RBOB

2nd Weyman – Spuffing Prosecco

Lovely head and expression, nice depth of muzzle and good stop and brows. Good neck and shoulders with lovely angulation. Chest of good depth. Good height to length ration and correct rear with lovely unhurried stride, I just preferred the substance of 1 over 2.

Open 4 (3)

1st Weyman – More than Amazing Wanna be a Gangster at Spuffing JW (imp BEL)

Although he stood alone a very worthy winner, lovely and mature. Good neck and shoulders, nice depth of chest, loved his topline on the stack and held well on the move. Good reach with correct springer action in front and lovely drive from the rear with good hock length. Very well muscled with a lovely coat and turned out in great condition delighted to award BOB and Group 4
