May I thank you all for such a wonderful large entry of 20. I was very honoured to be judging your dogs. It was lovely to have filled classes that made some decisions hard in several classes, like all vulnerable breeds there is always compromises in judging and I thank you for your sporting acceptance of my decisions. I was delighted with my winners and was lovely to see them represented so well in the Group.

Puppy (2)

1st Wyton, Willowswalk Miss Sunshine Over Belbroughton, nearly 1 year old. Very nicely balanced throughout, still has time to drop into herself as she matures up. Attractive head with good width with enough curve to give correct shape, lovely soft expression. Ears well placed just above eye level giving a good framework to her head. Neck strong with correct head carriage on the move. Good Shoulders and bone. Moved well on nice tight rounded feet. BP

2nd Short & Bull Bakerscroft Beckley Belle just 7 months and all puppy – such an in between stage, lovely head and expression, topline held well on the move. Plenty of time to grow more into himself but for such a baby held himself well together.

Junor (2,1a)

1st Marston, Wollasbridge Barnaby. Lovely shape to him, with correct length and good depth of chest. Good bone and substance throughout. Eyes lovely and clean with no excess, correct expression and good shape to skull. Moved nicely with good muscle and good rear angulation, correct tail set.

Post Graduate (4)

1st Allen-line, Deckham Amber Sunrise, showing more maturity that 2nd, so filling into herself more, nicely balanced from height to length. Lovely head and expression, with nice clean eyes with enough work in the head. Neck strong , nice front angulation and held topline well. Good rear movement from good large strong hocks.

2nd Clarke, Florry’s Boy Big Phil JW, again a nice shape just didn’t appear as mature as winner. I found the front to be slightly wide on movement, but the flooring doesn’t help as quite slippy. Hocks good and strong, tail set good and level topline. Eyes slightly lighter but nice shape and expression.

Limit (4,2)

1st Hipgrave, Lord of the Glittering Caves At Ternspringer. Lovely substance and strength, correct outline and shape. Nice head and eyes, correct frown and good shape above eye from ear to ear with correct full ears and right height sitting closely to the skull. Moved well with good rear movement, slightly looser in front.

2nd Short & Bull, Bakerscroft Beckley Belle. Smaller than 1st and coat not quite as good as winner with a little bit too much weight. Nice front angulation and good deep rib, giving a good depth to her. Preferred the head on 1st

Open Dog (3)

1st Bradbury & Preston, Harasteorra Big Bear JW. Such a lovely boy, good depth to him with strong firm muscles and good bone. Level topline on the move and stacked. He had a lovely easy unhurried movement to him just oozing Sussex . Lovley clean eye and nice shape to skull with enough work , good correct head with gentle expression & nice eye colour. Delighted to award him BOB as he was just spot on with his movement today.

2nd Swetalski, Fred Siop Ganol Into Bowsizzler,. Such a happy boy, larger than 1 in height and although more mature just didn’t hold it together on the move as well. Good head and expression. Feed not quite as good as winner, nice shoulder and front angulation. In good hard condition.

Open Bitch (3,2)

1st Mowbray, Sh Ch Gainsmill Lilly Luna Potter at Crumbledor ShCEx. Stood alone but a worthy winner. Lovely shape and size to her, really oozes Sussex . Nice length with correct height ratio. Lovely clean eye of correct shape and colour. Nice work in the head with width and enough curve in the skull. Well placed ears of nice thickness. Good neck and shoulders, held her topline well on the move. She was just slightly short on her rear movement, but again the floor doesn’t help. Really lovely expression and head. RBOB

Veteran (2)

1st Hipgrave, Sh Ch Eald Village Gossip VW. One I have been against in Veteran Classes so lovely to have the opportunity to go over her. At 10yrs she really holds her own and moves so well and true. Coat is not quite as good but then she is not a youngster anymore. Nice drive from rear as she used her strong hocks and good rear angulation. BVIB

2nd Swietalski, Sh Ch Sovaroma Relatively Frank with Bowswizzler. Taller than 1st, nice topline. Moved well lovely happy soul, just preferred the head of winner.
