Breed: Chow Chow

I thank the exhibitors for their entries after what was an arduous day before at Driffield Championship show where they exhibited at 2 shows in the same day. My entry was low but I appreciated the quality of the 3 entered.

Puppy (1)

1. Ms J Webb - Charids Queen Of Diamonds At Chifido.

A quality female puppy of 7mths. At first sight a super animated and shapely chow of correct proportions with the right amount of body and substance for one so young. Her head is of correct proportions and is developing well, excellent eye and ears. Pigment and dentition very good. Super well balanced angulation with excellent body and a balanced neck and outline. She is so good to go over with an excellent tail set and a great carriage on the move. She had super presence and is an exciting prospect. Best Puppy

Post Grad (No entries)

Open (2)

1. Mrs S Jakeman - Tanlap Thruppnybit

Another quality female I first judged as a young puppy, and my hasn't she grown up. Full of type and similar proportions to the puppy, excellent size and proportions. Super feminine with body and bone and the very best of heads, a typical expression with no exaggeration, super ears and eye, excellent pigment and dentition. Just the required amount of attitude, excellent feet and moved out so well with ease and a typical action. Today she was slightly out of coat but not enough to prevent me from awarding her Best of Breed.

2. This dog is also one I have judged previously, and it was a pleasure to award him Best in show at the chow club show then. He is a masculine dog in full bloom, well put together and of correct proportions. A quality head and expression with clean eye and good pigment. He has a super body good feet, excellent tail carriage, He looked striking when standing. His movement was balanced and typical, unfortunately, he was lack lustre due to his busy schedule and moved conservatively. He had such lovely movement when I last judged him and I'm sure he will bounce back.

I really appreciate the exhibitors for making the effort for me to achieve my final numbers, they are an example of what we should be doing to support fellow judges.
