My Thanks to the Committee for the invite to judge at their show and for their kind hospitality, to the exhibitors for their good humour and excellent sportsmanship, and my two super stewards for a job well done.
It was a special show with a jovial and happy atmosphere, but poignant as it marked the passing of Harriet McLean who was such a lovely and supportive person. I am sure she would be very proud of all the effort everyone involved with organising and supporting the show which made for a great day.
PD. 1 and RBD. URWIN Jaegerson Kingsman. A super quality baby to start off the day. Lovely type and quality all through, and as sound as a bell. Masculine in outlook and already has excellent ring presence. Typical in outline, compactly made and all of a piece. His head is well balanced with correct muzzle to skull proportion. Bite and dentition good. Eye shape, size and colour excellent, and his high set, correctly carried, and neat ears make for an excellent expression. Neck good for length, is nicely arched, and flows seamlessly into a very sound front assembly. Lay of shoulder compliments the upper arm, and his forelegs are well boned. Neat tidy feet. At the moment he gives slightly in rib and strength of topline, but he us a baby and this will undoubtedly come with time. Rear angulation complimemts the front, with good turn of stifle and neat strong little hocks. He moves out with style and determination, and is particularly nice behind showing no closeness or excess width. On the go around he has definite hackney action, but in the challenge for best dog he never held his topline as firmly, and this cost him. Tail set bang on snd carried correctly. His red jacket shone with condition. Already a consummate professional, he is a smashing exhibit with personality plus and a ton of promise and I will follow his career with great interest.
PGD. 1. WILSON Kilmuir Quarterflash at Nianka (NAF TAF) Nicely made dog and well at himself. Overall balance is good, he has strong bone and is a masculine sort of dog with a lot going for him. Muzzle to skull balance is good and his bite and and dentition are correct. Eye and expression correct, and he looks at you with a confident air. Ears good for size, but id like them slightly higher set. Neck is good for length and is nicely arched, and he is sound in shoulder. Has a tendency to stand slightly wide, but on the move he is fine. Very well ribbed, short in loin and his topline is strong with a slight slope to his high tail set. He is well angled behind and he moves soundly and typically. Fantastic temperament.
2. ALLAN Allanbru Red Alert. Liked him a lot. Lovely type and balance and he is sound all through. Head mascukine without coarseness with ideal balance of muzzle to skull. Excellent expression, and neat little high set ears. Neck, front, topline and rear all good and his topline is excellent, but he too has a tendency to syabd slightly wide in front. Sadly on the day he was determined not to settle and consequently movement was difficult to assess. Would love to see him on another day when he is in the mood to cooperate with his very patient handler. In lovely nick and his handler has patience lol
A3OD. 1 and BIS CH. Charpin Ottimatic JW. Black and tan. All of a piece and in spanking nick, balanced and soundly made throughout. Lovely for size, and his outline is sharp. Static he is hard to fault. Lovely neckline into a nicely made shoulder assembly. Ideal length of leg and his bone is commensurate for his size. Excellent in pastern and his feet are tidy. Chest has width and depth, and his ribbing is very good. Short and strong in loin, and idea for croup, tailset, and tail carriage. Rear is angled well and he has beautifully strong little hocks. Correct length and width of second thigh. His topline is strong and his short compact shape is held both static and in motion. Movement out and back is clean and precise and in profile his hackney action is evident and true.
In head he is masculine with excellent muzzle to skull ratio. Bite and dentition is spot on, clean in flew with excellent lip placement. Eye and expression is lovely, and he looks at you just right. Ears I would like neater and higher set. His temperament is excellent, sparky and animated, and he is a fab little showman. He comes to a perfect freestack and his overall balance and excellent gait got him the top spot today.
2. GIANTTI Kilmure Kyiv at Aftershine NAF TAF. Lovely typy red dog with loads to like about him. Squarely built and strongly made, he is neat and tidy all over and ideal for size. Lovely quality head with excellent expression. Good neck length, sound in front assembly. Nice quality bone with correct feet and pasterns. Topline straight but could use a bit more slope. His rear is strong with well turned stifle and he too has strong hocks. Overall I though him a lovely prospect, but on the day he just wouldn’t settle and was a little overawed. With time he will get his act together. Presented in excellent condition.
VD. 1 and BVIS SHEPHERD Alcum Very Aussie Via Kilmuir AI. Super chap looking grand at 7 years old. Balanced all through and very sound. Lovely bone and substance, excellent ribbing and his chest has width and depth. Slightly longer cast. Rear strong and well turned, and his movement is fluid with very good front action. Fab temperament and in excellent condition.
PGB. 1. ALLAN Allanabru Petite Petale. Super little black and tan, and she is personality plus. Dont think she had her four feet on the ground for longer than 2 seconds, but there were moments where her soundness and shape and breed type could be appreciated. Compact and square and ultra feminine in outlook. Lovely bone to suit her size. Topline good, she has complimentary angles both ends, and when she settled she moved typically and well. Shone with condition. Head is lovely all through and her expression is excellent. She is sound all though, has type and quality and her handler has the patience of a saint lol
LB. 1 and RBB SHARP DIXON and REYES Dinarth Diamonds Foreva. Beautifully compact red bitch. Excellent balance all through, and she is a super combination of femininity and strength. Excellent topline, straight and correctly sloping to an ideal tailset. Shoulder assembly good, lovely quality bone, and correct feet and pasterns. She is very well ribbed, short in lpin, and ideal tuck up. Her rear is well made with good turn of stifle and strong hocks. On the move she covers the ground very well. Typical in front action, she is clean coming, but on the day she was slightly close going. Super sound, and a lovely typy bitch of real quality.
2. ALLAN Allanabru Mademoiselle Coco. Another nice red. Not quite as compactly made as the first, but she is not long. Feminine head, nicely elongated and muzzlenin perfect harmony with her flat skull. Ears a wee bit soft but they are well set abdnkce for size. Eye and expression good. Bite and dentition good. Neck nice for length, slightly arched and flows cleanly into her well laid shoulder. She civered the ground with ease and her front action was typical. In lovely nock and she too was animated and interested in what was happening.
OB. 1 and RBIS URWIN Vickstock Wow Aneeva. Thought her an excellent example. Absolutely sound from her pretty head to her her well set tail, she is an excellent example of type and soundness. Square in outline and strongly made throughout without a hint of coarseness. Lovely quality medium bone. Shoulder and upperarm complimentary. Topline straight, slightly sloping and she holds it at all times. Her quarters are ideally angulated and her hocks are short and strong. She is very well ribbed, short in loin and everything just flows. On the move she is precise in front, holds her outline impeccably, but in the challenge for BIS he was just a smidgeon wide behind. Superb temperament and she lives to please her handler. Presented in super nick, and she has so much to like. Pushed hard for BIS, two lovely Pins.
2. ALLANS Allanabru Rose Tico JW. Another lovely red and pushed the class winner. Surprised to learn she was 7 years old, she was in fine fettle and her appearance very much belies her age. Lovely head, eye and expression, and she is effeminate and elegant. Shoulder and upperam good, but she had a tendency to not stand quite as straight in front. Very good for rib and although compact in loin she wasnt wuite as square in shape as the winner. Her topline is very good and her rear is strong. She moved soundly and typically and although her animated temperament had her handler working hard, she fairly enjoyed herself. A tidy bitch with loads to like.
VB. 1. Ch. Keljantzi Xciting Prospect for Amious JW, SHCM. 8 and a quarter years old and still doing her handler proud. As sound as a bell all through. Her front is fab, straight and true with excellent pasterns and feet, and her front actionexcellood. Fairly compact in outline and static she makes a lovely picture. Her topline is correct and her back end drives her well. Her black and tan coat shone in the sun and her temperament was excellent.
2. MCLEANS Happy Stacyland Jennifer IKC. Another lovely old dear, still sound and happy and enjoying her day out. Lovely expression, and particularly nice ears. She is compact im shape and moved typically and well. Two lovely oldies.
VINTAGE BITCH. 1.ALLANS Allanabru Saucy Savours JW SHCM, and 2. ALLANS Allanabru Strictly Tangoed.
I think quite possibly my favourite class I have ever judged. Two impossibly sweet old ladies, full of vim and vigour, and still at 14 and almost 13 they are both such a wonderful credit to their owner. Both sound, both happy, and I could see that in their day they would have been lovely examples of their breed. I was very taken with them both and so pleased to see such unrestrained animation with them both. Two super little people, and THANK YOU for bringing them under me.
