Wickford Basildon & District Canine Society

Breed: Best in Show

Wickford, Basildon & DCS

A great pleasure to judge at this well run outdoor show, my thanks to my stewards for making everything run smoothly.

From a strong Best In Show line up I found my eventual Winner in the beautiful Weimaraner, Upton-Lovett & Upton’s Sh Ch Gunalt Lustrous with Roydack ShCEx, a 7 ½ year old female who was so pleasing to go over, in such hard muscular condition, strength without coarseness, elegance and purpose in every aspect. She was well balanced throughout with good angles & proportions, clean lines, standing on ample bone and tight feet. Her head piece was well proportioned with a pleasing eye, well placed ears, strong neck of sufficient length into well laid shoulders. Good depth of brisket and fore chest, with a nice clean underline, her back was strong and straight, into well-developed hindquarters. Her movement was something I could watch all day, effortless and covering the ground with ease. Presented and handled to perfection. Also going Best Veteran in Show.

My RBIS went to the equally lovely dark brindle Greyhound, Holder & Boggia’s Boughton Back to the Future, 2 year old female, graceful, elegant with that air of dignity, she was so well proportioned in every department, muscular, with powerful hindquarters. A lovely temperament, beautiful head piece with nice dark eye, giving a beautiful expression. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, straight when viewed from all angles, strong compact feet, good depth of brisket, well sprung rib, clean underline, strong back & loins into well-developed hindquarters. She was sound both ways with a free ground covering side gait.

I found my Best Puppy In Show in the beautiful Bedlington, Martin-Impey’s Silverkinn Madam Grand Slam, 8 months female of excellent quality & breed type, she has a beautiful pear shaped head piece, with a dark eye giving her a lovely mild expression, well balanced throughout, standing on well-padded feet, lovely backline into well-developed hindquarters.
