Puppy – 0

Post Graduate (2 – 0)

1. Tilston’s Maursett Meneluas - Male full of substance and breed type. Excellent head piece with kind dark eye and appealing expression. Good ear placement and correct dentition. Made correctly and balanced when moving. Powerful rear driving action. Not as mature as BOB, but pushed hard.

2. Tapp’s Spyrodragon Gnorc Cove – A finer exhibit than 1st, that said, pleasing head and expression, adequate angles and balanced on the move and was well muscled.

Open – (2-0)

1. Sh Ch Maursett Mallachie at Molvonia (BOB and RBIS) – Upstanding Dog, exudes power and stamina, level topline, well muscled quarters and excellent rear driving action. Typifies a classic clumber spaniel with a lovely head and expression, combined with the correct dentition. A powerhouse of a dog who when moving owned the ring.

2. Tilston’s Stoneiela Toast – Good example of the breed, lovely head, ears and expression. Not quite the angles of the 1st and not as positive on the move.

English Springer Spaniel

Puppy – (4 – 1)

1. Such’s Gleadsbury Whataboy at Mujascal (BP) - Loved this boy for breed type, pleasant head without coarseness, melting expression and correct bite. Correct shoulders and angles all through. Moved elegantly with drive and front reach, holding his topline. Well muscled and put his tail to good use, presented to perfection and was sympathetically handled.

2. Bullock’s Trixhund Shut That Door – Different type to 1st, Excels in head, expression and dentition, married with a soft appealing expression. Excellent bone and good feet, moved OK and presented well.

3. Kibby’s Pinhay’s Princess Sarah

Junior – (1-0)

1. Kibby’s Pinhay’s Pie In the Sky – Litter brother to 3rd in Puppy, more racier in type, balanced with matching angles fore and aft. Moved well, albeit, exuberantly affect tail carriage. Lovely head and eye and correct dentition.

Post Graduate (0-0)

Open (4-2)

1. Bullock’s Trixhund This Is My Destiny ShCEx (BOB) – Mature male with everting in good order, presented and handled well. Pleasing head, tight dark eye and correct bite. Clean in neck and well off for substance, small feet, held topline, powerful rear action and was well muscled. Close decision between 1 and 2.

2. Kibby’s Trimere Taylor Maid at Pinhay’s – Different type to 1st, built on cleaner lines which did not detract from breed type. Moved well but did not have the front extension of the 1st. A lot to like about her.

Retriever Curly Coated

Puppy (1 – 1)

Post Graduate (2 – 1)

1 Stephens’ Brightmeadow Come On Eileen

Open (1-0)

1. Stephens’ Brightmeadow Rumour Has It J.W. (BOB)

Litter brother and sister with the dog going BOB today. Preferred his overall balance and positivity when moving. Both are very “typey” in profile and head pieces, I felt the dog had a crisper coat. Both were well muscled and had the correct angles fore and aft. Was impressed with the dogs head and intelligent expression. He held his topline and had an easy unhurried gate covering the ground to advantage. Both were sympathetically handled in the challenge to get the best from them.
