North Riding Gundog Club  Sunday 24th Aug 2025 

I would like to extend my thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at your show, thank you for all the exhibitors attending on a very warm sunny day. 

I would also like to express my appreciation to my steward for their excellent assistance on the day.  

It was a pleasure to judge Hungarian Vizslas, Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, Bracco Italiano and the Golden Retrievers

Hungarian Vizslas 

Class 59 Puppy (1 entry / 0 absent)  

1st Tyson Mes ML & Mr JH, Layways Tambourine Man 

The first outing for this dog at just 8 months old, lively and enjoying the moment, when stood could see body and angulation definition coming through, coat was in good condition in a nice russet gold. Glimpses of some elegant movement in between the positive playfulness. Was much more settled later in the day in the groups, which was nice to see.

At just over 2 years old, this dog was a challenge to go over as a little lively but has well laid shoulders and solid forequarters, body could have a little more muscle tone, moved well in places around the ring 

Class 61 Open (6 entries / 0 absent) 

1st Malin Mrs J, Kenzduo Deeply Dallas 

3 year old dog, masculine looking outline nice head and eyes, good strong colour, level back with good size of well sprung ribs, well developed fore and hindquarter. Moves well covering the ground round the ring gracefully.

2nd Hardcastle & Bradley Mr DJ & Ms EM, Castledogley Firenze JW 

A maturing bitch of over 2.5 years old a lovely feminine girl, noble head and well laid shoulder, fore and hind angulations well put together, producing a lively trot around the ring. Tough call between these two for top billing but preferred the movement of the 1st

At just 8 months old this dog is quite mature but still giving the exhibitor a challenge today, a well proportioned head with nice coat covering, good eye and ear set completes an overall balanced head. Well balanced body and good angulations, moved well around the ring for age.

At nearly 5 year old this bitch is not showing her age at all, typical head with moderate skull, good eye colour, still with great coat texture and colour. Well balanced fore and hind angulations. Covers the ground with ease with good drive from behind.

1st Dodd & Struther-Lane Mes M & Mrs A, Elfrindew Yankee Doodle 

A one year old dog, strong masculine boy with a good ring presence. A still maturing head set but with good length, soft expressive eyes, nice, rounded ear shape and size. Strong squarish body well balanced, giving powerful drive and good pace of trot around the ring. Well worthy of his RBoB in a strong line up.

2nd Woodhouse Mrs R & Mr S, Elfrindew Bye Baby Buntin at Vixenmoor 

The sister of my 1st place today, and with similar attributes to her brother. Feminine bitch, pretty headset, stood well for her handler, with a square body well balanced and in proportion. Moved well around the ring and can see her and her brother going head-to-head at open shows.

Nice looking dog, just a few days short of one year old, difficult to assess completely as was being mischievous for his exhibitor today and unable to settle, proportions look well and strong, showed glimpses of steady movement in between him having a fun day out in the ring.

A confident dog of just over 2.5 years old, balanced head set with dark eyes giving a masculine look, fore and hind quarters strong and straight, coat in good condition, moved well around the ring giving it the edge to win 1st place today.

Another great specimen from the same kennels as the first-place dog, belying his years at over 7 years old. In good condition, white and chestnut in colour and well made all round, moved with drive, just preferred my 1st place one today.

A light coloured dog at just at just under 1 year old, showing great maturity and kindly expression, stood alone today. Balanced head, eyes and ears well set. Forequarters, hindquarters developing well. Moved around the ring with powerful long strides

Dog of 2.25 years old well put together showing all the qualities you want to see in the breed, Masculine head broad and well set, good angulation fore and hind, good condition of coat. Moved with good drive around the ring  

2nd Buckles DR LK, Brazenbeacon Artemis 

Nice feminine bitch of 2.25 years old, maturing well, handled well by her exhibitor to get the best out of her. Nice length of neck to a balance body, angulation fore and hind giving her drive around the ring today 

3rd Warden Mrs AR, Holinbrae Eurastart Glentochty

1st Moore Miss S, Tenfield Klipspinger with Auryngra 

This dog of 20 months old had a lot to like about him. A slightly darker male than some but within the breed standard, stood out with masculine head set and kind expression, strong straight forelegs, and nice deep sprung ribs. Held topline when moving round the ring. 

2nd Buckles DR LK, Brazenbeacon Artemis

Dog of just over 2 years old, presented well, masculine headset with kind expression, has strong maturing body all round, this gave him the powerful movement around the ring with good length of stride and edged him to 1st place today. 

2nd Towers & Henderson Mrs S & Mrs M, Baricia Bella Divino JW 

Another nice 2 year old plus dog, with masculine headset, good bone and deep chest. Good fore and hind angulations and just a little unlucky today to be edged out of 1st on movement.

A feminine 4 year old bitch, nice breed type with medium coloure gold coat in good condition, good length of neck to well-constructed fore quarters, level topline and good hind angulations allowing her to move soundly around the ring. 

2nd Price Mr JA Mrs JA & Mr MA, Jomiagan Festival Fantasy 

3 year old bitch, balanced head with kind expression. Well boned fore quarters deep and well sprung ribs. Moved with drive around the ring, keeping a level topline 

3rd Sloan Mrs P, Palmonas Glitterball 

Class 78 Limit (4 entries / 1 absent) 

1st Wallis Mr A & Mrs K, Lamancha Roll on Good Times 

4.5 year old dog, good head balance, with good eye and ear set. Another nice to see level topline with substance underneath it, well angulated fore and hind. Showed great drive, straight and true in the ring, pushed for BoB today

3.5 year old dog, more mature in outlook than 1st placed. Well shape and proportioned head, eyes and ears set well. Straight front, well boned, good depth and spring of ribs, strong hind quarters. Moved well around the ring just preferred the extra drive in the 1st place dog

1st Walker & Roberts Ms EJ & Dr L, Lamancha Trust Your Heart with Gloi JW 

Just loved the look of this bitch as soon as she entered the ring. She is just shy of 3 years old. Great feminine head with a look of being friendly and confident. Dark gold coat. Well boned with well-made fore and hind quarters. Well held level topline while driving around the ring straight and true. From the same kennels as my 1st in Limit today

This 8 year old dog is not showing any signs of age and shown in great condition, showing great friendliness, deep gold coat, good bone, deep body, good level topline and nice angulations. Moved well around the ring
