Many thanks to the Club for their kind invitation to judge Terriers. Thanks also to the exhibitors for entering & showing their lovely dogs. Special thanks to my stewards who worked hard to run a tight ship. Apologies for the delay in this report – a litter of puppies at home took up all my time!

Airedale Terrier Open –

1. Graham’s SHADLIAN HEAVENS DREAM AT THISTELAIRE JW SHCEX OSW

Judged this feminine (B) before. Has a good eye & expression. Feminine head with well placed ears. Strong neck with a well put together front. Level topline and correct tailset. Moved soundly. Terrier Group 3

2. Purchon’s JOKLY DRAW THE LINE JW Unfortunately, quite unhappy today. Good strong masculine head and body. Unsure on the move.

Border Terrier Post Graduate –

1. McCluskey & Young’s CHADBROOK ASTRID Alert young bitch with a lovely dark eye. Straight front. Deep body with well sprung ribs which were easily spanned. Well set tail. Moved soundly.

2. Lawrence & Scrimgeour’s COMALEGY LADY OF THE HOUSE WITH FIADHAICH Just out of puppy and looking very much a baby. Liked her overall shape which will fill out as she matures.

3. McMurdo & Tierney’s CEILLOCH DISCOVERY

Border Terrier Open –

1. Malcolm, Glen & Knowles’ LIATCH TENACIOUS JW SHCEX OSW BoB Liked this 2 year old (B) a lot. Shown in lovely fit condition. Strong head with well placed and carried ears. Correct length of neck flowing in to well set shoulders. Straight front, super deep body with well sprung ribs. Lovely, neat feet. In good harsh coat. Moved soundly. Terrier Group 2

2. Lawrence & Scrimgeour’s COMALEGY THE COUNTESS WITH FIADHAICH Smaller made (B) with everything in proportion. Liked her head and expression. Moved soundly.

Cairn Terrier Graduate –

1. Lamb & Saltmarsh’s TYCADNO SHINING STAR AROUND MACMOON JW BoB Very smart young (D) Liked his head & expression. Carried his ears correctly. Good reach of neck in to well laid shoulders. Level topline. Correct tailset. Moved out well using his strong hindquarters. Just needs to mature to complete the picture. Terrier Group 4.

2. 2. Munro’s BIRSELAW BEAUTIFUL DREAM Smaller, compact (B) of good shape. Moved out soundly.

Cairn Terrier Open –

1. Lamb & Saltmarsh’s BIRSELAW COME DANCING WITH MACMOON OSW JW SHCEX SHCM A veteran of 8 years young. Lovely, overall shape. In super coat and condition. Moved well for age.

Fox Terrier (Smooth) Open –

1. Rougvie’s THUNDERCLAP MACFADDEN TO TURFLINDIE Judged this black & white (B) as a baby. Flat skull with a strong jaw. Good straight front. Short back. Strong hindquarters. Moved out steadily.

2. Rougvie’s THUNDERCLAP MACAULAY TO TURFLINDIE Very similar to her sister although perhaps not as strong in head. Not particularly settled on the move.

Jack Russell Terrier Graduate

1. Mccluskey’s TILTSER VOULEZ VOUS AVEC CHADBROOK BoB What a little star – exudes personality in the ring. Really smart young (D). Correct head with a strong muzzle. Super eye and expression. Strong neck in to well laid back shoulders. Well proportioned body. Strong hindquarters which he used to moved out soundly. Shown in super fit condition. Happy to award Group 1 and to see him go on to Best in Show - congratulations

2. Gray’s LOCHEIL LITTLE WONDER IKC) Sturdy, workmanlike (D)Strong in body. Moved soundly.

Jack Russell Terrier Open

1. Mccluskey & Young’s CHADBROOK ARRAN another smart young (D) from this kennel. Half brother to the Graduate winner. Very similar in overall shape. Liked his head & expression with correct earset. Super neck & shoulders. Well bent stifle. Moved soundly.

2. Gray’s Locheil Little Wonder (IKC)

Lakeland Terrier Open –

1. Rougvie’s NYAMINDI SPRING SONG Mature (B) well balanced head with correct earset. Reachy neck in to fairly well laid back shoulders. Used her hocks well on the move.

Parson Russell Terrier Open

1. Mccluskey & Young’s CHABROOK ELKA BoB well balanced body of correct proportions. Could do with a little more work in her head but scored over 2 in front assembly.

2. Mccluskey & Young’s HEYTHORPE TEMPTED TO CHADBROOK Up to size young (B) with a strong head. Moved steadily

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Open –

1. Absent

Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier Open

1. Macgregor’s KIRKTONHILL A TOUCH OF SNOW SHCEX Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Another I have judged before. Well presented (B) typical head & correct earset. Lovely dark hazel eye. Strong, compact body. Moved out well. Carrying a little extra weight today.

Scottish Terrier Open –

1. McNiven’s FRAZANDMITCH TOP OF THE GAME AT DAJAVEIL Substantial, thick set (D). Strong head with well set ears. Straight front, deep chest. Kept his topline at all times. Sound on the move

2. McNiven’s FRAZANDMITCH ALL EYES ON ME AT DAJAVEIL litter sister to 1. Similar in type with a feminine head and expression. Movement a little erratic today.

West Highland White Terrier Open -

1. Tullis & Newton’s LYNNSTO CRAFTSMAN AT DRUMSHEUGH Liked this young (D). Still a baby but has everything I would look for. Well shaped head with correct earset. Strong front, could do with dropping his chest but I would hope this comes with maturity. An easy mover around the ring.

AV NSC Terrier Open –

1. Gianntti’s IR CH KARENSBRAE STEPASIDE FOR AFTERSHINE JUN CH, CW25, JUN CW25 Strong head with correct earset. Lovely shape of eye. Elegant neck. Well laid shoulders. Unfortunately, quite erratic on the move.
