Dachshund (All Varieties) and Whippet
I would like to say a sincere thank you to Scunthorpe Canine Association for inviting me to judge at your lovely outdoor show. Thankfully, the weather was quite kind to us and the rain stayed off. Thank you to all my dachshund and whippet exhibitors for entering your dogs under me, I had some beautiful dogs to assess and really enjoyed my appointment.
Miniature Long-Haired Dachshund
P (2,0) 1. Brown’s Daniello Dreamer Boy For Garbosa – 7 month old dapple male who is very good for substance and well-muscled throughout for his age. Masculine head with good construction front and rear. Excellent prosternum, strong bone and level topline. Excellent muscular rear. Moved true for and aft and balanced when moving in profile. BP. 2. Gordon’s Dolyharp La Boheme At Allerbach – Feminine cream 10 month old female with a pretty head of correct proportions. Almond eye shape and strong jaw with good dentition. Good angulation front and rear, particularly liked her level topline which she kept both stacked and on the move. Needs a little time to mature. Moved freely and balanced when viewed in profile.
J (2,0) 1. May’s Scrumptious Red On The Dot JW – 12 month old shaded red male who has excellent substance for his age. Masculine head with almond eye and a well-developed prosternum. Level topline which he kept both stacked and on the move, and plenty of ground clearance. Excellent rear angulation - he moved around the ring freely, with drive and purpose. RBOB. 2. Yates’ Irisdax Incognito Noisette – 12 month old black and tan male, masculine head with excellent ear set and strong underjaw. Plenty of prosternum and strong bone. He has a level topline and well-developed muscular rear. Moved freely and with purpose, just tended to carry his tail a little high on the move.
PG (4,1) 1. Francis’ Lokmadi Gabriel At Feebrick – 2 year old cream male with plenty of substance. Masculine head of correct proportions, muscular neck and very good angulation at his rear. Excellent full volumed thorax with plenty of heart and lung room. Level topline into his short loin. Correct tail. Moved well. 2. Yates’ and Pretty’s Hilmar Winston’s Winscar – 2 year old cream male who has a masculine head with almond eye and powerful strong underjaw and dentition. Correct ear set, long muscular neck and good front and rear construction. Level topline. Very well handed by his young handler. 3. Pretty’s Jaxrubydax Constellation.
O (3,0) 1. Gordon’s Allerbach’s Tiger Moth – 2 year old cream male who won this class on his free and effortless movement in profile. Beautiful masculine head with enough substance, almond eye and strong jaw. Long muscular neck into good front construction and well developed prosternum. Elbows well tucked in, full volumed thorax, strong bone and decidedly arched feet. Enough ground clearance. Muscular throughout, with level topline which he held both stacked and on the move. Excellent rear angulation. He moved true for and aft and floated around the ring with his handler, driving from his rear. Pleased to award him BOB. 2. Yates’ Lyndarlea Just Brian Of Irisdax – 7 year old black and tan male who is excellent for substance and strong bone. Masculine correctly proportioned head with correct ear set, muscular neck into good front construction and well developed prosternum. Plenty of ground clearance. Muscular throughout with short loin and well developed muscular rump. Moved true for and aft and balanced in profile, just not quite the profile movement of 1. A very close decision. 3. Pretty’s Jaxrubydax Brighten My Day

PG (1,0) 1. Foley’s Loggetta Wynn By Myles At Clavennae – 4 year old shaded red female who is excellent for substance. Correctly proportioned head, almond eye and strong jaw. Excellent front construction with a prominent prosternum, strong bone and decidedly arched toes. Full volumed thorax with plenty of ground clearance. Excellent level topline both stacked and on the move. Very well-muscled rump and straight hocks when viewed from behind. Excellent coat. Moved true fore and aft and effortlessly when viewed in profile - with drive from her muscular rear. BOB.

Miniature Smooth-Haired Dachshund
P (2,0) 1. Holmes’ Brogansian Ophelia – 11 month old black and tan female. Feminine head of correct proportions with almond eye, strong jaw and correct dentition. Long muscular neck into a well laid back shoulder and good front construction. Prominent prosternum, strong bone and decidedly arched toes. Plenty of ground clearance. Short loin into correct rear angulation and muscular rump. She held her topline both stacked and on the move. Moved well. BP. 2. Mills’ Jenivon’s Etoile Des Reve At Greyvista – 6 month old red female who is slightly shorter in body than 1. Feminine head of correct proportions with almond shaped eye. Long muscular neck into good front construction, with plenty of substance and strong bone. Level topline. Correct rear angulation. Moved well. Two nice puppies, unlucky to meet 1 today.
J (2,0) 1. Holmes’ Debiandaxies Derry Girl - 21 month old shaded red female who won this class on her balanced and free profile movement. Pretty, feminine head with almond eye and strong jaw and dentition. Long muscular neck into a well-constructed front with excellent prominent prosternum and plenty of ground clearance. Full volumed thorax. Excellent level topline with ribs extending well back and short loin. Strong bone. Excellent muscular rump and correct rear angulation. Moved true fore and aft, and when viewed in profile moved freely driving from her powerful rear. BOB. 2. Mill’s Nisyros Fiorella At Greyvista – Sweet feminine and pretty 12 month old black and tan female who is slightly smaller in size than 1. She has balanced front and rear angulation and is well put together. Level topline which she held both stacked and on the move. Moved well.
PG (2,0) 1. Kent’s Lokmadi Don’t Bring Lulu – 21 month old black and tan female. Correctly proportioned feminine head with strong jaw and correct dentition. Good front construction, would prefer a touch more layback of shoulder. Well volumed thorax and strong bone. Excellent supple muscle and beautiful coat. Good ground clearance. Level topline when stacked. Good rear angulation and a well-muscled rump. Moved true fore and aft and balanced in profile. 2. Foley’s Logetta Lucky Swirl At Clavennae – 22 month old red brindle female who has a touch less substance than 1. Correctly proportioned head with almond eye shape. Good front construction and plenty of ground clearance. Level topline when stacked and a well-developed muscular rump. Moved well just preferred the rear movement of 1.
O (2,0) 1. Kent’s Lokmadi Charles Rex – 17 month old male with correctly proportioned masculine head and correct ear shape and set. Strong muscular neck into correct front construction. Plenty of heart and lung room. Strong bone and decidedly arched feet. Level topline held both on the stack and on the move. Well-muscled rear with correct angulation. Moved freely in profile with a proud head carriage. RBOB. 2. Francis’ Stargang Hay Bob At Feebrick – 6 year old shaded red male. Masculine correctly proportioned head with almond eye shape. Good front construction with a well volumed thorax, plenty of heart and lung room. Plenty of substance throughout and well-muscled. Ribs extending well back, short loin and level topline. Well-muscled rump – moved well just preferred the front movement of 1.

PG (2,0) 1. Nagy’s Gravelous Harbour – 18 month old shaded red male. Masculine correctly proportioned head with almond eye and strong jaw and dentition. Long muscular neck into correct front construction with prominent prosternum. Full, well volumed thorax with plenty of heart and lung room. Ribs extending well back, short loin and level topline. Strong bone and plenty of ground clearance. Good rear angulation with full, well-muscled rump. Moved true fore and aft and with drive in profile. BOB. 2. Coupland’s Rayol Charlie Brown – 2 year old shaded red male. Masculine head with strong powerful jaw. Up to size and substance for me, he has balanced front and rear angulation and strong bone. Would prefer a little more ground clearance. Moved well. RBOB.

PG (1,0) 1. Foley’s Bimini Alfie Moon At Clavennae – 18 month old wild boar male who has plenty of substance and bone. Masculine head with prominent ridges above his eyebrows, almond eye, strong jaw and correct dentition. Long muscular neck into well laid back shoulder and good front construction. Full volumed thorax and a slight rise to his topline into well-muscled rear quarters. Plenty of ground clearance. Moved true fore and aft, but gave his handler a tough time when moving around the ring. RBOB.
O (1,0) 1. Kent’s Ch Barratini Du Beke at Lokmadi – Very smart 2 year old male who is well put together. Typey head, strong muscular neck into excellent front construction. Shoulder well laid back with correct length of shoulder to upper arm. Elbows tucked in. Prominent prosternum and full volumed thorax with plenty of heart and lung room. Plenty of ground clearance. Level topline into his short loin and excellent rear construction. Strong bone. He moved true fore and aft and balanced when viewed in profile, driving with his muscular rear. BOB.

P (1,0) 1. Sirrell’s Drakkina Dragon Song – Very pretty 6 month old chocolate wild boar female. Feminine head of correct proportions, almond eye and correct ear set and shape. Muscular neck into good front construction with elbows tucked in. Ribs extending well back, correct level topline and strong and short loin. Plenty of ground clearance. Good rear construction with well-muscled rump. I particularly liked her proud head carriage, as she moved around the ring with free movement. BP.
J (1,0) 1. Sirrell’s Hopewood Dream Come True – 11 month old wild boar female of good muscle and substance. Pretty head into muscular neck and good front construction. Well laid back shoulder, prominent prosternum and elbows tucked in. Strong bone. Plenty of ground clearance. Level topline into her well-muscled rear. Moved well. RBOB.

O (2,0) 1. Brierley’s Bramalodge Bonfire Heart At Tatze – 4 year old wild boar female with feminine correctly proportioned head, almond eye and correct ear set and shape. Long, muscular neck into excellent front construction, correct layback of shoulder and elbows tucked in. Prominent prosternum, with a full volumed thorax. Strong bone and plenty of ground clearance. Level topline which she held stacked and on the move. Ribs well back and short loin. Excellent well-muscled rump. True fore and aft, she moved around the ring freely in profile driving from her muscular rear. BOB. 2. Osbourne’s Derochaise Vincenzo Di Braego – 6 year old wild boar dog who has a masculine head of correct proportions. Correct ridges above his eyebrows, almond eye shape and strong jaw. Good front and rear construction. Full volumed thorax and prominent prosternum. Strong bone. Muscular throughout with muscular rear. Moved well, just preferred the rear movement of 1.

P (2,1) 1. Davidson’s Mr Nibbles Of The Mistal – 7 month old brindle parti male with sweet disposition and a lovely temperament. He is fine throughout, but that should come as he matures. Moved well. BP.
J (3,0) 1. Morland’s Zoraden Naughty At Forty – 12 month old dilute fawn female. Correctly proportioned head, with oval eye and strong underjaw. Excellent fine rose shaped ear. Long, muscular neck into excellent front construction, moderate bladed bone and slight spring of pastern. Lovely deep brisket and good spring of rib. Slight rise over the loin into her muscular well made rear. Well let down hocks. Moved true fore and aft and balanced when viewed in profile. 2. Ellam’s Frontrunner’s Encore For Clionys (Imp Dnk) – 15 month old brindle male who is made on a larger frame than 1. He has a beautiful typey head and sweet expression. Correct oval eye and strong underjaw. Well angulated both front and rear, moderate bladed bone and slight spring of pastern. Excellent depth of brisket and spring of rib. He held his topline both stacked and on the move. Well-muscled first and second thigh and well let down hocks. Moved well, driving from his rear when viewed in profile. 3. Gordon’s Starcelyon So This Is Love
PG (8,1) 1. Morland’s Zoraden Master Baker JW – 2 year old fawn and white male with masculine head, equal length of muzzle to backstop, oval eye with correct eye shape. His long, muscular neck flowed into a well-laid shoulder, with excellent length and return of upper arm. Moderate bladed bone, slight spring of pastern and tight oval feet. He has a good spring of rib, correct length of ribcage and excellent depth of brisket. Strong loin, with curvy topline and tuck up. Muscular rear quarters with correct turn of stifle and straight rear pasterns. Excellent tail set and length of tail with a smooth coat. True fore and aft, and so balanced when viewed in profile with his long low front reach. Driving around the ring from his muscular rear with purpose. Pleased to award him BOB and delighted he went on to win hound group 2. 2. Kerr’s Udalie Du Menuel Galopin (Imp Fra) – 2 year old brindle female who really caught my eye as she entered the ring. Pretty well proportioned head with oval eye shape and strong underjaw. Long muscular neck into a well-constructed front, enough layback of shoulder and length and return of upper arm. Moderate bone and slight spring of pastern. This girl is so shapely. She has an excellent depth of brisket and spring of rib, that sweeps into a good tuck up flowing into a slight rise over her strong muscular loin. Well-muscled rear and well let down hocks. She held her topline both stacked and on the move. Moved with a free and easy stride in profile. Unlucky to meet 1 today. 3. Head’s Nevedith Gold Glow Of Demerlay
L (2,1) 1. Ellam’s Demerlay Angel Eyes For Clionys – 2 year old fawn female with such a pretty feminine head. Correctly proportioned, with oval eye, fine rose shaped ear and strong underjaw. Long muscular neck into well laid back shoulder and good front construction. Moderate bone and slight spring of pastern. Lovely curvy underline sweeping into a slight rise over her loin. Well-muscled rear with well let down hocks. Moved well.
O (5,1) 1. Morland’s Zoraden Gossip girl JW – 23 month old brindle female. Feminine correctly proportioned head with oval eye and fine rose shaped ears with correct set. Long, muscular neck into excellent front construction, moderate bladed bone and slight spring of pastern. Beautiful flowing underline into an excellent tuck up - complemented by a slight rise over her loin. Very shapely. Strong muscular loin into her well-muscled rear with well-developed first and second thigh and well let down hocks. Moved true fore and aft. When viewed in profile she is elegant and light on her feet. A real free and easy balanced mover, with long and low reach in front and plenty of drive from her muscular rear. RBOB. 2. Robinson’s Indian Chief At Tarward – 4 year old fawn male who is very well put together. Masculine correctly proportioned head, with oval eye and correct dentition. Long muscular neck into a correct layback of shoulder and length and return of upper arm. Moderate bladed bone and slight spring of pastern. Excellent depth of brisket flowing into his correct topline which he held both stacked and on the move. Well-muscled rear and well let down hocks. Moved true fore and aft, and balanced when viewed in profile. An honest dog. 3. Head’s Demerlay Ebony Eyes.
