Whippet Critique

P (2,1) 1.  Trouton’s Citycroft Aphrodite Of Runnel – 8 month old shapely and well balanced brindle bitch, with feminine head of correct proportions.  Correct angulation front and rear, with correct layback of shoulder, return of upper arm, moderate bone and slight spring of pastern.  Good spring of rib for her age, accompanied by correct length of ribcage and loin.  Correct rear angulation.  She moved well with a daisy cutting action around the ring, with grace and elegance. BP.

J (6,2) 1.  Leathart’s Ringmore Jocasta – 16 month old blue fawn bitch, correctly proportioned head with a fine rose shaped ear and correctly shaped eye.  Good angulation both front and rear. Moderate bone, with good layback of shoulder, length and return of upper arm and slight spring of pastern.  Excellent spring of rib, depth of brisket and strong powerful loin.  Moderate rear angulation, well let down hocks and knuckled feet.  She was shown in excellent muscular condition. Moved well. 2.  Perkin’s Zeglynn Christmas Present – 14 month old fawn dog, he has a correctly proportioned head, with correct eye set and shape and small, fine rose shaped ears. Muscular neck leads into good layback of shoulder.  Moderate bone, with slight spring of pastern and well knuckled feet. He has a good depth of brisket, and tuck up.  Correct spring of rib and length of loin.  Moderate rear angulation, he was shown in firm muscular condition.  Moved well, just preferred the overall shape of 1. 3. Lewis’ Swistir Whispering Willow

SY (4,1) 1.  Perkin’s Silkridge Rapture With Zeglynn – Masculine 20 month old brindle dog, really loved his head and expression. Skull flat on top, with equal length of muzzle to backstop.  Correct eye shape and set, with a fine rose shaped ear.  Muscular neck, into correct layback of shoulder, return of upper arm, moderate bone and slight spring of pastern with well knuckled feet. Excellent depth of chest, spring of rib and length of ribcage. Strong powerful loin and shown in excellent muscular condition. Slight rise over the loin, flowing underline and definite tuck up.  Good rear angulation with well developed first and second thighs. Well let down hocks. Moved soundly in profile, covering ground well and with a long and easy stride. Propelled forwards, driving with his muscular rear.  Pleased to award him BD and BOB. 2.  Booker’s Longmire Amazing Grace – Moderate 21 month old brindle bitch, correctly proportioned head with correct eye set and shape and fine rose shaped ear.  Long, muscular neck leading into a good layback of shoulder and front assembly.  Moderate for bone and slight spring of pastern.  Excellent depth of chest, with a curvy underline and flowing topline to match. Correct rear angulation, excellent tail set and well let down hocks.  She moved soundly around the ring, just preferred the reach and drive of 1 on the day.  3. Whitmore’s Kierpark Power Of Love At Whitleara

PG (4,0) 1.  Hoskins’ Shelsue Jingling Jennie – 2 year old fawn bitch, feminine head of correct proportions with correct eye set and shape.  Small, fine rose shaped ears.  Elegant and muscular neck into a well laid back shoulder and good front construction.  Moderate bone, slight spring of pastern with good feet.  Good depth of brisket, sweeping underline and slight rise over the loin. She has a smooth flowing topline.  Good rear angulation, this bitch is moderate throughout.  She moved true for and aft, and balanced moving in profile. Pleased to award her BB. 2.  Leathart’s Ringmore Jocasta. 3.  Booker’s Longmire Blue For You.

OD (2,0) 1. Perkin’s Zeglynn Hello You – 3 year old fawn masculine dog, head of correct proportions with correct eye set and shape and a strong underjaw.  Good angulation both front and rear, with moderate bone and slight spring of pastern.  Well bodied, with good spring of rib and excellent depth of chest.  Definite tuck up, with a slight rise over his powerful loin.  Well-muscled rear quarters and well let down hocks. Moved well.  2.  Booker’s Longmire Bring Me Sunshine – 21 month old brindle dog, really liked his size.  He has a masculine head in correct proportions, correct eye shape and set, fine rose shaped ears with a strong underjaw.  Long, elegant and muscular neck into a good layback of shoulder.  A shapely boy with moderate bone, good depth of brisket and definite tuck up.  Slight rise over his powerful strong loin.  Well-muscled rear. Moved well.


OB (6,1)  Smeath’s Royal Tudor Storm Minime At Willingwisp – 3 year old curvy brindle bitch with a lovely head in correct proportions.  Alert expression.  Well balanced throughout, with a long, muscular elegant neck.  Correct layback of shoulder, with good length and return of upper arm.  Moderate bone with slight spring of pastern.  Good depth of brisket, definite tuck up and slight rise over the loin – creating her smooth and shapely outline.  Moderate rear angulation, with well-developed first and second thigh.  Well let down hocks and good feet.  She moved true fore and aft, and moved freely around the ring in profile - with a long and low stride. 2.  Hoskins’ Bodlon Kind Of Magic At Shelsue – 3 year old brindle bitch built on a slightly smaller frame, she has a correctly proportioned head with correct eye and ear set and a fine rose shaped ear. Long, muscular neck into a good layback of shoulder, correct length and layback of upper arm, moderate bone and good feet.  Excellent depth of chest with definite tuck up and slight rise over the loin. Good spring of rib, and strong powerful loin.  Moderate rear angulation, with well developed first and second thigh and well let down hocks.  She moved true fore and aft, just preferred the profile movement of 1 on the day.
