Whippet Club Of Scotland Limited Show
01.11.2025
A huge heartfelt thank you to the committee of the Whippet Club Of Scotland for inviting me to judge at your limited show at the Lawrie and Symington Agricultural Centre in Lanark. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and was very well looked after by the committee. Thank you ever so much for my lovely hamper filled with Scottish goodies. I found a few of my entries to be a little nervous on the table, and I would like to think that this was down to the venue – rather than the whippets themselves.
PD (4,0) 1. Winkley-Balmer’s Edenwhip If I Can Dream – A handsome fawn youngster who caught my eye as he entered the ring. He is up to size for me but was rewarded for his balanced construction and moderate angulation throughout. Masculine head of correct proportions and excellent strong underjaw. Beautiful long, muscular neck that really flows into his excellent front construction. Well-laid back shoulder which is of equal length to his upper arm with correct return. Plenty of fill in front. Elbows are naturally placed directly underneath the withers, moderate bladed bone and slight spring of pastern. One of the best fronts in the dog classes of the day. Good depth of chest and spring of rib for his age, with a sweeping underline that compliments his topline. Excellent moderate rear angulation with well-muscled first and second thigh and well let down hocks. He moved well on the up and back, and with a daisy-cutting action when viewed in profile. Delighted to award him RBD and BPIS. 2. Jones’ Jothryn Snooze You Loose – 6 month old brindle dog with masculine head of correct proportions. Muscular neck leads into his smooth front without too much prosternum. Good length and return of upper arm. Moderate bladed bone and flat muscle. Good depth of brisket for his age, needs a little more fill in front but that should come with time. Slight rise over the loin and a well-muscled rear with well let down hocks. Moved well, just preferred the reach and drive of 1. 3. Arnold’s Aberlark Midget Gem.
JD (1,0) 1. Smith’s Colloony Mr Jameson At Lorbri – Fawn dog with masculine head and sweet expression. Equal length of muzzle to back skull and strong underjaw. Fine, rose shaped ear.
