Firstly, I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge, it was a great honour. I would also like to thank my capable stewards for the day who did a great job of keeping things moving. Finally, I would like to thank all the exhibitors who entered under me. I appreciate there were some challenges with scheduling between the two shows being run concurrently but thank you for your understanding.

Class 104

Bearded Collie Junior 6 (0)

1. Robertson & Robertson’s Quothquan Aylyth. Slate bitch just coming up to 12 months old. Well presented. Covered the ground with ease and level topline on the move. Good square flat skull with proportions just right. Ears well set and good teeth. Nothing exaggerated about her. Good length of back and rear muscled well for her age.

2. Mckelvie’s Agallaich Peachy Pochle. Another young girl with a lot of maturing to do but showing promise. Again correct head shape and ear placement. Just enough neck. Good length of rib and rear angulation as it should be. Moved out with ease and fluidity. Another well presented girl.

3. Cox’s Strufingill Top Gun For Coirantee.

A quality class with 1st and 2nd really catching my eye.

1. Moir’s Winaria Wellington JW. I was really taken by this boy. Still relatively young but maturing well. Moved out best in class with an excellent relaxed gait but covering ground effortlessly. Good length and depth of rib leading to a correctly set tail. Well put together overall. Pleased to award him BOB and Group 2.

2. Johnston’s Corimist Glimmer of Rye. Another quality dog who was just pipped by 1. Excellent presentation. Well proportioned head with good flat square skull and well set ears. Good length and depth of rib and moving out with a nice level topline with a smooth gait.

3. Cox’s Braesnobel Salt N’Pepper for Coirantee.

Bearded Collie Open 4 (1)

1. Handley’s Bargemon Brigadoon At Barkenbear JW SHCEX OSW. Mature boy with a good outline and proportions. Won this class with his movement. Good level topline on the move. Liked his reach of neck and correct head shape and proportions. Tail set good.

2. Savage and McLean’s Talraz Comic Relief at Canaich JW VW. A lot to like about this boy. Angulation front and back as it should be and as a consequence moved out well. Good quality coat and well set tail. Pleased to see he went Res Best Veteran in Show.

Border Collie Junior 3 (0)

1. Kempton’s Borderbrook Lucky In Love JW. Moderate bone with well proportioned smooth outline. Graceful on the move with economic free movement and good level topline. Straight front and good depth of chest and nice muscular loin. Just enough length of tail.

2. Kempton’s Art Of Blossom Drowned in Emotion into Borderbrook (Imp Esp) Handome boy who looked like my winner standing but just did not move out as well as 1. Super masculine head with correct stop, eye and ear set. Good depth of chest and rib.

1. Walker’s Ravenskirk Pretty in Pink. Good athletic looking girl with the correct body to height proportions. Well sprung ribs and deep chest. Super length of neck with good arch. Moved out as well as she looked.

2. Kempton’s Art of Blossom Drowned in Emotion into Borderbrook (Imp Esp) See class 107.

3. Walker’s Ravenskirk Brown Eyed Girl

1. Sloan’s Locheil Give Me Love From Inverstag. Really lovely unexaggerated girl with the best movement in the class truly economic and fluid. Just enough bone with a lovely feminine head and expression. Quality coat. Angulation back and front correct. Pleased to award her BOB.

2. Heggie’s Locheil A Good Heart Ir Jun Ch CJW 23. Taller boy with good masculine head and expression coming from correct eye and ear set. Well set neck. Good proportions leg to body and good rear angulation. Very well presented and handled.

3. Walker’s Miraje Just Because At Ravenskirk.

1. McGill & Boyd’s Gemheid May’d Of Gold For Stregato. I have written a lot to like here. Sable girl with super outline and lovely quality coat. Angulation front and back best in class and moved out accordingly. Lovely head of correct proportions and sweet expression. Good length of neck. Body and leg proportions correct.

2. Hodge’s Jopium Follow My Heart. Well presented girl with super coat and handled well. Moved out well. Good head but preferred that of 1 on the day. Another one with super proportions and well set tail.

3. Tilley’s Gemheid May’d Of Amber For Detillio.

1. Hutchins Riversong Thrills Of Night At Scottrye. Tri-colour girl with excellent proportions and good coat. Super head and expression with lovely ear and eye set. Angulation good and moved out well.

2. Proctor’s Didek Moonshine For Cathbri. Another tri-girl who was very smart looking on the stand but did not move out as well as 1. Not as much coat as 1, but what she had was good quality. Muscular well arched neck and good body proportions.

1. Crawford’s Stregato Foolish Guy For Delseirios. Good size very masculine boy who moved out beautifully and definitely giving the impression of working ability Super correct masculine head and lovely length of neck. Excellent quality coat and well presented. Overall a lot to like. I was pleased to award him BOB

2. Proctor’s Opernball At Intermittent Lake (Imp Svn). Merle girl who was unlucky to come up against 1. She moved out well and had a beautiful head and lovely expression. Good neck and body proportions correct. Moved out well.

3. Foster’s Didek Eclipse of the Moon.

This was a great class to judge, just wish I had more placings to give.

1. Scott’s Saniaquinto Black Magic. Lovely tricolour boy who impressed me from the start. All business moved out freely. Good medium length back and well sprung ribs. Good deep chest. Foxy head and alert expression. Well angulated. Excellent quality coat. Pleased to award him BOB.

2. Crichton’s Cherastayne Real Quiet. Another quality boy with good foxy head and correct intelligent expression. Very workmanlike on the move. Depth of chest suitably deep and broad, Rear angulation good. Very well presented with a super quality coat.

3. Manson’s Calwinii’s Aqua Bloom JW.

1. Logie’s Twinan Loves Got A Secret. This girl won her class on movement. Foxy head with intelligent expression. Good length of neck, depth of chest and elbows well fitted to her body. Another one with a super quality of coat.

2. Hogg’s Unita Mentale Donald With Keltybrae. Stockier boy with a lot of character and attitude. Moved out well and very workmanlike but I just preferred the movement of 1 on the day. Good head with appropriate foxy expression. A lot to like.

3. Franchi & Franchi’s Saniaquinto That’s Amore JW.

Finnish Lapphund Post Graduate 4 (2)

1. Meikle & Henderson’s Lintukoto Ilmiomainen (AI). Moved out best in class with a brisk trot. Good strong featured head but would prefer a tad less muzzle. Well boned and good pasterns. Good firm back with correct spring of rib. Profuse coat with good presentation.

2. Clark’s Aateli Koira Vakker Yuna At Lumenico (Imp Fra). Lost out to one on maturity. She was also a touch reluctant on the move but had a super outline. Head very feminine with a good expression. Nice tail set. I will be interested to see how she fares as she ages.

Finnish Lapphund Open 4 (2)

1. Meikle & Henderson’s Elbereth Etianen at Lintukoto. Presented a super picture and moved out best in class. Angulation good with correct pasterns. Liked his tail carriage and length of neck. Extremely well presented with good coat quality. I was pleased to award him BOB.

2. Proctor’s Alkantara Talvi Hamara with Cathbri. Unfortunately she let herself down by pacing a lot of the time and not being the easiest to go over. That said there is a lot to like with good leg to body proportions and typical head.

German Shepherd Dog Yearling 2 (1)

1. Gibson’s Droyales Forever Proper At Echosands. Stood alone but worthy of place. Well muscled with just the right body condition. Head proportions good with good strong neck. Boning excellent and good depth of brisket. Moved out well.

German Shepherd Dog Graduate 2 (1)

1. Brown & Brown’s Rochelles Hawk Warrior. Again standing alone but what a picture this boy made with his handler who got the best out of him especially on the move. Excellent bone. Good clean cut head and expression. Liked his angulation and topline as it should be. Pleased to award him BOB.

German Shepherd Dog Open 3 (1)

1. Mooney’s Draycore Kenneth. He had a lot to like but almost blew it with his bouncing around. Liked his outline and moved out well. Good proportions on his head and angulation good. Quality of coat excellent.

2. Smeaton’s Lorgyle Arran. Bigger masculine boy with a super head and well muscled neck and body. Good outline and boning but a bit looser than 1 on the move.

Samoyed Post Graduate 3 (1)

1. Dodd’s Bondsmoor Moonlight Kiss. Pretty girl with lovely biscuit ears. Nice wedge head with well defined stop. Took a while to settle on the move but when she did she moved out with drive. Reasonable muscling. Angulation good and lovely tail set. Well schooled. Pleased to award her BOB.

2. Walton’s Brilantico Cloudy Dreams. A typy girl who was very unsettled on the move and unfortunately did not settle enough to show herself off. Finer boned than one. Lovely tail set. Angulation OK.

1. Dodd’s Bondsmoor Kiss Me Kate. A girl I have judged before and liked giving her the RCC last time out. Pretty bitch who still remains workmanlike. She did not move out as well as I have seen her do but still had reach and drive and a good level topline. Pretty feminine head with good length of neck. Liked her leg to body proportions and angulation to match. Tail set good.

Shetland Sheepdog Junior 4 (1)

1. Forbes Degallo The Prodigy. Lovely boy who moved out best in the class. Elegant head of the correct proportions with characteristic sweet expression. Neck muscular and of sufficient length. Nice straight front with good bone. Angulation front and back as it should be. Correct depth of chest and lovely tail set.

2. O’Connell’s Kishdigra Atomic Goddness (IKC). Slightly nervy girl who coped reasonably well but it affected her showing and movement a bit but she did settle enough to see. Lovely head and expression. Overall a lot to like and I am sure she will improve with age.

1. Saunder’s Leterikhills River Star Over Torrieglen JW. A lot to like about this girl with correct bone and lovely head and accompanying sweet expression. Good leg to body proportions. Nice oval feet and good tail set. Angulaton good back and front. Moved out well. Coat good quality. Pleased to award her BOB

2. Forbes’ Degallo The Name Of The Game. The difference in age between 1 and 2 made a difference here. Construction over all as it should be with nice economical action. Well sprung ribs and good deep chest.

3. O’Connell & O’Connell’s Degallo Golden Girl at Sionnachdu

1. Forbes’ Degallo Blonde Ambition. She won this class as I felt she had the best outline, proportions and movement combined. Lovely head and expression. Sufficient length of neck. Angulation correct. Coat quality excellent and very well presented.

2. Reekie & Reekie’s Ellenyorn Elixir. Another super little girl with good head and expression moved out well but preferred the pasterns on 1. Angulation otherwise good. Quality coat.

3. Shaw’s Bramblecroft Reeba At Bluequarry.

1. Hodges’ Jopium Dark And Demure JW. Well balanced girl with a good clean cut head, well set eyes, well defined stop and clean neck of moderate length. Well laid back shoulders and rear angulation to match. Good weather proof coat. Pleased to award her BOB and Group 4

2. Heggie’s Talard It Wasn’t Me. Another youngster with a lot to like but this one was full of nonsense. Could change places on another day. Moved out with an easy stride. Angulation again correct both front and back. Good clean head. Very well presented.

1. Heggie’s Winstead A Brave New World Ir Jun Ch (Imp Romania) Good masculine clean cut head and super clean neck. Good moderate bone. Angulation back and front correct and moved out with an easy stride with a good level topline. Another well presented dog.

2. Pugh, MaKenzie & Taggart’s Northbay Xsells Can’t B’leaf My I’s Another quality boy who did not do himself justice on the move. Liked his head and expression and super rear angulation. Coat quality and presentation excellent.

3. Simpson’s Lamintone For the Drive At Applecreek.

1. Kolomycew & Birced Chiceron Spin Doctor (Beauceron). Super free movement from a lovely muscular boy. Head in proportion to body with correct muscular neck. Moderate angulation back and front. Firm level back and well sprung ribs. Good harsh coat. Pleased to award Group 3.

2. Steel & Steel’s Fosterbrie Schmitten Noir (Briard). Older boy who moved out effortlessly and was unlucky to meet 1. Super quality coat all over. Strongly boned with good deep chest and spring of rib.

3. Stevenson & Stevenson’s Moasdileas Hen Broon (Catalan Sheepdog)

1. Emery & Emery’s Kontrastas Huntsman White Von Navajos (White Swiss Shepherd). A dog I have judged before and followed his career. What I wrote before still applies he has impressive presence in the ring giving an impression of power. Good size and angulation front and rear. Depth of chest correct with reasonable tuck up and strong loin. Head clean cut with correct ear set. . Presented in super muscular condition and movement to match. Pleased to award him the class despite standing alone and also to give him Group 1.

I felt spoiled for choice in the group but was very pleased with my final line up.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who stayed for these classes as I am conscious it was a long day.

AV Pastoral Minor Puppy 10 (4)

1. Glasgow’s Viva the Diva De Chester At Gallus NAF TAF (Bearded Collie). Promising pup with a good outline and leg to body proportions. Typical head and good length of neck. Angulation good. Coat right for age. Moved out best in class.

2. Corrigan’s Myzbobs Moffats Cove (Old English Sheepdog). Lots to like here too with a good square shape and super quality harsh texture. Moved OK but a bit looser than 1 at the rear but I am sure that will change with age.

3. Hodges Jopium Follow My Heart ( Rough Collie)

1. Clark’s Aateli Koira Vakker Yuna At Lumenico (Imp Fra). (Finnish Lapphund) See Class 116. Pleased to award her Best Pastoral Puppy

2. Proctor’s Mighty’s Spring Meadow Yeva Una At Stiosan (Imp SVK) (Smooth Collie). Good weatherproof coat with good angulation and moved out well with super level topline. Good length of neck. Dept of chest and spring of rib correct.

1. Savage & McLean’s Talraz Comic Relief At Canaich JW VW (Bearded Collie) See Class 106.

2. Simpson’s Rannaleroch Chilaca At Applecreed VW EX RL4 EX (Australian Shepherd). This girl belied her age and moved better than some of the youngsters. Liked her angulation back and front, well muscled. Correct head and good quality coat.

3. Steel & Steel’s Fosterbrie Schmitten Noir ( Briard)
