I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge at this show; the small hard working committee really put on a great show and what a super venue they have. I was delighted with the quality of my entry and some really tough decisions which is testament to the quality of the dogs in the area.

Class 165 : AV Puppy Stakes (10, 5,5)

1st Thomas’ Bowdonia Elphaba (Whippet), 11 month bitch. Lovely young bitch, feminine head of good proportions, lovely dark oval eye and correct ears. Long neck into well placed shoulder and nice deep chest, ribs extending back and strong loin, defined tuck up. Good forelegs, sufficient bone and nicely angled at the rear with well muscled second thigh. Moved parallel coming and going.

2nd Mr & Mrs Jones’ Something Audacious Among Clanwillow (St Wire Dach), 7 month bitch. Promising young bitch, balanced in profile. Nice head, good proportions, lovely dark eye, small ears set correctly and strong muzzle. Strong neck into a nicely placed shoulder. She is well made throughout with good bone, nice feet. Chest is deep, ribs extending well back and her nice strong loin gives her a good topline. Well angled at rear and once she settles moves well out and back and in profile. Am sure she will do well.

3rd Mrs Winney’s Blunderhall Scent With Love To Jimjen (Beagle), 6 month bitch

Class 166 : AV Special Yearling Stakes (15, 6, 9)

1st Mrs Wiles Wyatt’s Clarismore Crown Prince JW (Beagle), 22 months. Nice male, presents a masculine profile on the stack. Pleasing head; masculine and with correctly domed skull; lovely dark eye with a kind expression, good leathers set on well. He is well made throughout, good angulation fore and aft and sufficient bone. He is compact and muscular but I would not want any more weight on him. Really excelled on the move, out and back and covering the ground well in profile; good tail carriage.

2nd Ms Hamilton’s Artilily Bronte (Saluki), 14 months, feminine young bitch, she is eye catching with her lovely silver grizzle. Ultra feminine head, nicely proportioned, good eye and expression. Strong neck into a clean and well laid shoulder, good forelegs, pasterns sloping. Chest is well let down, ribs extending back, definite tuck up. Moderately angled at rear, well muscled. Moved well and handled well.

3rd Mr & Mrs Jones’ Clanwillow Kiss The Girl (Basset), 8 months bitch

Class 167 AV Post Graduate Stakes (8, 2, 6)

1st Mr & Mrs Moore’s Probert Calypso (PBGV), 3 yrs. Typey bitch, feminine in profile. Lovely head of good proportions, nice dark eye and expression, good ears set on well. Front is ok, sufficient bone. Ribs ok and strong loin giving her a good topline. Moderately angled she is in good coat and conditions, lovely short tail, set on well and carried correctly. She moves well out and back and in profile; just could do with a bit more enthusiasm.

2nd Mr & Mrs Jones’ Clanwillow All That Jazz (Basset), 11 month bitch. Feminine bitch, pleasing head of good proportions, good leathers set on correctly. Front is ok, good bone and feet, nice prominent sternum, good ribs extending back she still has some maturing to do. Nicely angled at rear, good tail set on well. Moves well covering the ground.

3rd Mrs Wyeth’s Rayol Texas Ranger (St Smooth Dachs), 2 yrs bitch

Class 168 AV Open Stakes (8,4,4)

1st Ms Thomas’ Bowdonia Sky Full Of Stars (Whippet) 2 yrs. Well made brindle and white, feminine with a balanced profile when stacked. Nice head, good proportions and good eye and ears, strong neck into well placed shoulder, good forelegs with sloping pastern. Chest is well let down, defined tuck up, good rear angulation and in lovely muscular condition. Moved well in all directions.

2nd Webb & Sheppard’s Killoughey Mission Two For Inkleboys JW (Ir Wolf) 3 yrs. Pleasing head, good eye and strong muzzle, correct ears set well. Strong neck into a nicely placed shoulder, good forelegs, sufficient bone and feet are ok. Chest is well let down and extending back, nice strong loin giving him a good topline. He is muscular at the rear, nicely muscled second thigh. In good coat and condition. Moved well when he took a fancy.

3rd Mr & Mrs Paskins’ Kindeace Texas Ranger SHCex (St Long Dachs), 6 yrs male

Class 169 AV Special Racing/Lure Coursing (8,6,2)

1st Mrs Mould’s Warden William (Whippet) 4 yr male, pleasing outline, head of good proportions, strong neck into good shoulder and nice deep chest. Well angled front and read and in tip top condition, muscular and fit as a fiddle, he moved out and back and covered the ground nicely.

2nd Mrs Bowsher’s Blues And Tooes (Whippet) 2 yr male. Of larger mould to 1, balanced in profile; pleasing head, he is well made throughout just not the condition of 1 which showed on the move.

Best In Show

A lovely line up for Best In Show and the short list included some lovely hounds; a credit to their owners.

BIS : Ms Norman’s Silvae State Secret (St Wire Dachs), lovely mature dog with a lovely head of good proportions and nice dark eye with the cheekiest of expression. Strong neck not good shoulders he has sufficient bone, good feet. He is well made throughout and is in lovely coat and muscular condition. He really catches the eye on the move; really covering the ground on a lovely loose lead.

RBIS : Messrs Knights and Stokes’ Lelaps Time Lord (Basenji), Young dog maturing nicely, nice head of correct shape, well chiselled under the eye, correct ears and he uses them well, nice strong muscular neck into a nicely placed shoulder, good forequarters; straight forelegs and good feet. Chest is well let down, extending back and a nice strong loin gives him a good topline. He really excels on the move with a lovely swinging gait in profile.

BIS 3 Wolstenholme, Moughton and Farleigh’s Kinabula Rouge Diamond At Dekris 3 yrs male, presents a good profile when stacked, balanced and well proportioned. He has a lovely masculine head, lean and with good ears. Nice length of neck, strong and into a good shoulder he has moderate angulation fore and aft, nice deep chest and good ribs, nice defined underline and strong pasterns. Moved and handled well.

BIS 4 Mr Starkey’s Carpaccio Magnum Pi At Hamoura, Lovely masculine dog, he catches the eye for his presence and attitude in the ring. Masculine head, nice conical shape with dark eye and strong muzzle, strong muscular neck into good shoulder he has a nice prominent forechest, good feet and nice deep chest, ribs extending well back, he has a super strong and muscular loin with a level topline, moderate underline and good angles. Moves well, he covers the ground and really owns the ring.

Best Puppy In Show

Another strong line up of promising youngsters.

BPIS Bridgeman and Logue’s Kingswin Gifted (Beagle) 6 months bitch, what a nice young bitch, confident and really giving her all. Feminine, pleasing head and lovely dark eye giving a beautiful soft expression, head is if correct proportions, domed and with good leathers. Nice strong neck and she is well made throughout, nice bone, excellent feet, she really excelled on the move out and back with super profile and good tail carriage.

BPIS 4 Mr & Mrs Jones’ Something Audacious Among Clanwillow (St Wire Dach), 7 month bitch. Promising young bitch, balanced in profile. Nice head, good proportions, lovely dark eye, small ears set correctly and strong muzzle. Strong neck into a nicely placed shoulder. She is well made throughout with good bone, nice feet. Chest is deep, ribs extending well back and her nice strong loin gives her a good topline. Well angled at rear and once she settles moves well out and back and in profile. Am sure she will do well.

Best Veteran In Show

BVIS Ashby, Cappelaerer and Samways’ Kurriera Krystal Amethyst (Pharaoh) 8 yrs female, really nice mature bitch, feminine head, clean and with a lovely expression, nice large ears carried correctly. Good length of neck into a nicely placed shoulder, straight front, chest well let down, ribs extending back and in super muscular condition. Super mover, moved well out and back and in profile.

RBVIS Scanlon’s Kinabula’s All About The Bass JW ShCEx OSW VW (Ridgeback) 8 yrs female, one I have judged before and she is a super bitch. Feminine, pleasing head with good eye. Muscular neck into good shoulder, she is well made throughout, well bodied and in excellent condition she is sound and moves well.

BVIS 3 Samson’s Zoraden Surprise Edition At Romaclove (Whippet), 9 yrs male, pleasing in profile, lovely head with good eye and correct ears. Good length of neck into clean shoulder, good forelegs, chest is let down well and good ribs. Muscular condition, moves well.

BVIS 4 Ellerton’s Fauveahoy Sea Shanty (Basset Fauve) 7 yrs female, typey compact dog, pleasing head of good proportions, good ears set on well. Well made throughout she has good ribs and a nice strong loin giving correct topline, good coat of correct texture, good length of tail and moves well, busy and covers the ground with good tail carriage.
