Boston Terrier Club Open Show 29 March 2025
First, I must thank the committee of the Boston Terrier Club for the invitation to judge their show, I consider it a great honour and am very grateful for it. I thoroughly enjoyed the day, temperaments were universally good (though I do enjoy a performance from a stubborn Boston).
MPD 1 Rees & Scott’s Cactus Jack of Talkaccatur. Square skull, dark eyes, correctly set ears, short body, long tail, good turn of stifle, straight pasterns, nicely arched neck.
PD 1 Grange’s Valbrown’s Nothing Compares Two U Bosties. Flat skull, dark and round eye, correctly set ears, neck set neatly into sloping shoulders, nicely angulated read, gif tail and set. A little untidy moving toward me but in profile was graceful. BPD. 2 Svitanova’s Valbrown’s Not For Sale. Liked his head and eye, nicely set ears, good rear angulation, moved with parallel action.
JD 1 Harrison & Stiner’s Vickvally The Big Dill at Honeydukes. A very eye-catching dog. Compact, well balanced throughout, a little untidy in front movement but graceful and elegant in profile. Neat neck, with slight arch and leading to sloping shoulders and short back with slight curve over the rump. RBD. 2 Rankin’s Wildax the Real McCoy. A bit longer cast, liked his head and eye, good ear carriage, well angulated rear, moved well in profile. 3 Rostron-Parker’s Rosparquier’s Late Edition.
YD 1 Jackson’s Tigrato Lost Prophet. Compact in body, evenly marked, square skull, round eyes, nicely angulated hind quarters, deep chest and strong loin.
ND 1 Jackson’s Tograto Maker’s Mark. Nicely balanced overall, square skull, large and dark eyes, good under jaw, short muzzle, good depth of rib, would prefer a slightly shorter back.
PGD 1 Sambrook’s Ringablok King of Stars. Compact, balanced and well built throughout. Nicely proportionate head, short muzzle, dark eye and well set ears, slightly arched neck and sloping shoulder. Short back, nicely angulated rear. Moved well in profile. 2 Rankin’s Wildax Juergen Klopp. Strong and well built male, nicely arched neck carrying his well proportioned head proudly. A little long in body, good depth of chest and length of rib leading to strong loin. Moved soundly. 3 Strickland’s Wynele Harvey Kelaston.
LD 1 Grange’s Prince Ali Konfident Step to Bosties. Compact and balanced, square skull, with short and wide muzzle. Good depth of chest and length of rib, strong loin, well angulated hindquarters. Moved reasonably well, a little high stepping in front. 2 Snell’s Sonduriya Dewi Sant. Stong and sound, all male, square skull, flat on top. Good reach of neck with slight arch. Good depth of check, a little too long in back. Nicely angulated hindquarters.
OD 1 Quick’s MultiCh Primo Cavaliere Goffredo. Compact, well built, and very nicely balanced throughout. His head is lovely, square, with flat skull, wide muzzle and under jaw with good depth to muzzle. Carries his head proudly, deep rib and good length with strong loin and rounding over the rump. Moved well in profile, with grace and rhythm. BD. 2 Sambrook’s Esangee Your My Star. Square skull, dark and round eye, nicely set, thin ears, deep chest, short and strong loin. Moved well in profile. 3 Scott’s Boston Abbey Nico Fot Claymurf.
VD/B 1 Rankin & Hale’s Wildax Schubert. Nice head, square skull, with good width and depth of muzzle, all in proportion. Flat skull, dark and round eye, well set ears. Good length of neck carrying his head proudly, Deep chest and good length of rib, rounded over the rum, good rear angulation. Moved gracefully. 2 Hamlin’s Rosparquier Small Talk for Devotoblaze ShCM VW. Really enjoying himself and putting on a show. Liked his head and expression, well proportioned, good width and depth of muzzle. Moved with grace and in perfect rhythm.
MPB 1 Masters’ Aprika Graceland. The more compact of the two here today, her head is delightful, with nice proportions, a good width and depth to her muzzle, dark and expressive eyes. Deep chest with long rib and short loin, nicely angulated hindquarters. Showing a bit of overenthusiasm on the move but when settled, she is sound and graceful. Look forward to following her progress. 2 Snell’s Minnie’s Magic of Sondriya. Good markings, coat in good condition. Moved with style when settled. Correctly set, short tail.
PB 1 Bamford’s Windust Shining Light. Nicely balanced and compact overall. Square skull, would prefer a bit more depth to her muzzle, her ears are nicely set and carried. Good length of neck. Short back, rounded rump, good rear angulation, moved well in profile.
JB 1 Schfaild’s Vickvally Miss Chicago Soul. Nicely compact, short back, deep rib with a moderate cut up, short and strong loin. Square and flat skull, good width of muzzle, sufficient length of neck to carry her head proudly. Moved with confidence and precision.

NB 1 Rees & Scott’s Talkccatur Minnehaha. Good head and skull, round, dark and expressive eyes, ears well place though a little too big, nicely arched neck of sufficient length. Move well when settled.
PGB 1 Strickland’s Wynele Lady Crystal Melrose. Compact and balanced. Square skull, with a nice and expressive eye, muzzle could do with a bit more width and depth. Nicely set and carried ears. Short back, nicely rounded over the rump, good rear angulation.
LB 1 Glynn & Glynn’s Jangar Born To Be a Star For Coppergold. Compact and well balanced, lovely head, square skull, dark and round eye, well set and carried ears, sufficient length of neck, deep chest with good length of rib and short loin. Tends to overextend in the rear when stood. Moved with elegance. 2 Rees & Scott’s Talkccatur Kiowa. Compact. Square skull, dark and round eye, deep chest but would prefer a little more length of rib.
OB This was an outstanding class, a real pleasure to judge a class full of quality and dogs of such breed type. 1 Rankin & Spenser’s Ch Wildax Shut That Door. Very nicely balanced and proportionate throughout and exceptionally sound. Like her head, square and flat skull, well set and carried ears, sufficient length of neck to carry her head with style and proudly, clean front, sloping shoulder, short and strong patterns, deep chest, strong loin, nicely angulated hindquarters, rounded rump, moved with sure footed and clean action and with style and elegance. BB & BIS. 2 Scott’s Ch Aprika Fargo at Rudino JW. Beautifully compact and typical outline. Delightful head, eye and expression, flat skull, muzzle of good width and depth, sufficient reach of neck, sloping shoulder, deep chest, with good length of rib. In profile her movement is graceful, though I thought the winner was cleaner coming and going. RBB & RBIS. 3 Snell’s Ch Sonduriya Kumasi JW.
SB D/B 1 Strickland’s Wynele Harvey Kelaston. Overall, he's nicely balanced, square skull, large and dark eyes, good under jaw, short muzzle, he has a good depth of rib, neither were very settles on the move in this class today.. 2 Strickland’s Wynele Lady Crystal Melrose.
