Mansfield & District Canine Society Open Show

Many thanks to the committee for their warm welcome and hospitality. A fabulous outdoor show that was blessed with lovely weather. I was provided with an excellent professional steward Bruce, thank you. 

Manchester Terrier

PG (1)

1 Hancocks & Bailey’s Rattustrap Crimes At Night, 14 months old dog. A very cheeky boy, well-set ears and correctly shaped wedge head with correct bite. Dark, small eye giving a keen expression. Neck clean, a straight front and well-laid shoulders. Excellent hind angulation. glossy coat, with rich tan markings. Moved freely in profile, though slightly loose coming towards. Pleased to award him BOB. 

O (2 1) 

1 Brown & Davies Wystry Agony And Ecstasy JW, 2 year old dog. A nice-sized dog with a strong, well-defined wedge head and excellent teeth. Dark, alert eye and well-set ears. Clean neck, straight front. Coat is smooth, glossy, with correct tan markings. Moved really well with good drive. A close decision for BOB, with preference given to the PG winner for slightly better hind angulation.

Jack Russell Terrier

P (1) 

1 Moult’s Jaeva Caper, nearly 9 months old dog. A cheeky boy at the top end for height, he has a straight front. skull is flat, well set ears, although slightly large. Good bite, almond eyes. Shoulders well-laid back, excellent tail set. Good coat, loose pelt. Just spannable, I wouldn’t want much more of him. Moved freely with good drive, well presented and handled. BPIB 

J (1)

1 Irving’s Twinan Light Blu Touch Paper, 15 month old bitch. Lovely size. A flat skull, scissor bite. Good ear set, dark eye, lovely straight front and good rear angulation. Level top line with a well-set tail. Good coat, loose pelt, spannable. Well-balanced and moves freely.

PG (2)

1 Harris’s Kulawand Mini Minx, 4 1/2 year old bitch. Smooth bitch with a lovely head, slightly longer in the muzzle. Correct teeth. Excellent straight front with very neat feet. Level topline, tail set slightly low. Nice hindquarters with good angulation. Smooth coat of good quality, easily spannable. Would prefer a bolder temperament, she moves well in profile.

2 Harris’s Kulawand Wicked Womble, 3 year old dog. Rough-coated male. Front assembly not quite straight, although hindquarters are well-angulated. The head is his standout feature, with a well-defined skull and neat ears, strong bite, dark eye. Topline is level, and the tail set is correct. Coat is excellent, with a loose pelt and good texture. Not moving well for his handler today. 

O (2) 

1 Irving’s Twinan High Regard, 2 year old dog, Rough-coated male of correct size, well-balanced and solid. Head is excellent, with a flat skull and neat ears, though slightly large for me. Good strong scissor bite. Front is straight with a correct, well-laid shoulder. Tail is excellently set, carried well. Coat is of excellent quality, with a loose pelt and easily spannable. Moved very well, showing good reach and drive, very pleased to award him BOB and to see him awarded Terrier Group 2.

2 Cherry’s Shanandi High Hopes, 2 year old dog. Well up to size rough-coated male. Head is strong with a well-defined skull and neat ears. Hindquarters are excellent, well-angulated. Tail is well set and carried correctly. Coat is harsh, with a loose pelt, he’s only just spannable. Moved well. Preferred size of 1 today. 

Parson Russell Terrier

1 Baker’s Woldlincs Super Dooper, 8 months old bitch. Rough-coated girl with a wedge-shaped head, she has neat ears and a feminine expression. Excellent bite, with strong teeth. Shoulders are well laid back, hindquarters have good angulation. Tail is well set. Moved very well. BPIB and very pleased to see her awarded Terrier Puppy Group 1

O (2)

1 Baker’s Ch Tusiquevales Kudos With Pacolito (Imp Ita), 14 month old male. Wow was my first thought! A masculine rough-coated male of real presence. He has a powerful, well-proportioned wedge-shaped head with an excellent bite. Lovely straight front, matched by excellent hindquarters. Coat is of excellent texture with a loose pelt and he’s easily spannable. Tail set is excellent, carried correctly, and he holds a level topline with sufficient rise over the loin. Moved with real purpose and drive. Shows true terrier attitude throughout. BOB and Terrier Group 3.

2 Knight’s Woldlincs Just Bookie, 5 1/2 year old bitch. Rough-coated lady with a feminine head, well-proportioned and carrying a neat set of ears and good dentition. Front is straight and clean, complemented by good hindquarters. Tail is well set. Coat is of excellent quality, with a loose pelt and she’s just spannable. Moved well.
