Scottish Pyrenean Mountain Dog Rescue

Pyrenean Mountain Dog Club of Scotland Open show 22 March 2025

My thanks to the committee for a super event. As a non specialist it is a great honour to be invited. Hospitality was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my day. The dogs were interesting, well presented and all had the required double dewclaws.

VD (3/2) 1. Ch Lisjovia Estevez JW Sh Cm ShCEX VW OSW, 8.5 years old. I first met this dog 6 years ago when he was a youngster. Really interesting to judge him again as a veteran. He is so very shapely with excellent bone and substance, correct body proportions, balanced angulation, strong backend with well let down hocks, good stifle and excellent tailset. His head is strong with correct balance of skull to muzzle, excellent expression and good pigment. Easy movement. Best dog and BOB

LD (3/1) 1. Paxafen Rewrite the Stars, 23 months, of good substance and masculine throughout. Mid brown eye of good shape, reasonable pigment. Strong neck into good shoulder, good rear with excellent muscle and strong hocks. Good rib and depth of chest, would prefer a shorter loin. Moved with ease. 2. Madrasleibhe Croaghaunb, 5 years old, liked his eye and expression, lids could be tighter, very good pigment. Head not so masculine as 1 and muzzle could be stronger. Liked his rib, depth of chest and topline. Hocks could be stronger. Moved a little flat footed. Super temperament.

OD (3/1) 1. Ch Charibere Simply the Sequel at Kaianna JW , mature male, liked his shape, size and substance, excellent neck, good shoulder and topline. Head of good balance, very good pigment, eye of correct shape with classic well pigmented eye rims, handled to advantage, steady movement. RBD and RBIS 2. Penellcy Bennington Bear, male of good size, shorter yet balanced head with broad skull, correct eye and good expression. Liked his neck and topline. Tends to flick out his front feet on the move, good rear movement.

VB (2/0) 1. Ch Sketrick Papagena at Lakamoni , 8.5 years, not showing it. Head of good balance, Eye of good shape and could be darker but she has a good expression. Liked her overall shape, with balanced angulation, would prefer a shorter loin. Moved steadily. 2. Lisjovia Emilio, 8 years old, tall well made girl, lovely eye and still has excellent pigment. Excellent body with good angulation and strong topline. Felt she was moving a little flat footed today.

PGB (1/0) 1. Lisjovia Hanky Panky, 3 years old moderate size girl, living up to her name today as she just would not concentrate on the job in hand. I liked her a lot, she has an excellent body with good angulation, good depth of chest, topline, croup and tailset. On the move she has excellent extension and an pleasing sidegate. RBB

LB (3/1) 1. Polar Light Pride of America JW (imp USA), well grown mature girl, sympathetically handled. Liked her neck, shoulder and topline, croup and tailset. Angulation is balanced. Thought that her eye could be darker but she has a reasonable expression, ears a little large. 2. Charibere Reason to Dream at Kaianna JW, this girl has still to mature, and I found her a little narrow. She has a pleasing head with a beautiful eye and excellent pigment. Preferred the angulation of 1. Another who was handled to advantage.

OB (3/1) 1. Lisjovia Ottaviani , out of coat today with nothing to hide! Standing she shows the correct height to length proportions, she is robustly built but still with the required elegance and you have no doubt that she is a bitch. Head handles well, with slightly defined stop, a lovely dark eye and good pigment, the haw could be tighter. Her angulation is balanced, with good topline, strong loin and good croup and tailset. She moved easily without fuss. BB and BOS 2. Kalsaki Just Imperial at Lakamoni, taller girl of good substance Liked her strong neck and good front angulation, preferred the rear angulation of 1. Good feet and pasterns. Liked her forward reach on the move.

Brace 1. Kalkasi Just Imperial at Lakamoni/ Sketrick Papagena at Lakanmoni, easy moving out together
