Many thanks to the committee for the invite to judge, it was a well run outdoor show and the weather was kinder than expected, however it was still very windy and cold, which affected some of the exhibits.

Post Graduate (3,2)

1. Bridge’s Redbranch March Blessing. 2 yr old L/W bitch. Pleasing clean cut head but would prefer a darker eye. Moderate length of neck, with a slight arch, fitting well into the shoulders. Arched loin to a slight slope to the croup resulting in a correct tailset. Would prefer a shorter back. Moved out on a good stride. BOB.

1. Kassube & French’s Cararua Spring Pearl. 12 mth old bitch. Really liked this young lady, it was a shame on the day that she wasn’t very happy, there was a lot going on with the weather and the surroundings. She has the most beautiful balanced and clean outline. Long and lean in head, raised brow, well defined occiput, dark eye and low set ears. Moderately long neck into well laid back shoulders, and a correct topline. Good rear angulation with well bent stifle and low hocks. Moved ok, would love to see her move when she is more settled.

1. Cohen’s Lynwood Merry May King with Shushana. 6 yr old dog. Liked his racy balanced outline. Beautiful masculine head that is long and lean and well proportioned, with a kind dark eye and raised brows. Neck fits into well laid back shoulders with good length of upper arm. Well sprung ribs carried well back to a muscular loin. Hip to hock long, with well bent stifles and low hocks. Moved very well around the ring. BOB.

2. Kassube & French’s Twoacres Fantasy by Cararua. 7 ½ yr old bitch. She has a lovely balanced and clean outline, with a pretty feminine and well proportioned head, and low set ears. She has a good spring of rib and deep chest with a firm topline. Well bent stifle, good width to thighs and low hocks. Just preferred the layback of shoulder and movement of 1.

1. Booth’s Lundgarth Ticket to Fly. Almost 8 mth old B/W bitch. Loved her balanced flowing outline. Beautiful well proportioned head with well defined stop and occiput, and dark eye. She has a good front and depth of forechest. Long neck into well laid shoulders and corresponding upper arm. Correct topline that falls away very gradually with her ribs to a short loin. Good bend of stifle and hocks well let down. Moved well. BPIB.

2. Radcliffe’s Sniperay Secret Affair. Almost 8 mth old B/W bitch. Another nice puppy just not the outline of 1 at this stage. She looked like she was going through a gangly stage and up on her leg. She has a beautiful head and expression, with correct proportions, stop and dark eye. Good forehand assembly with good length to upper arm, and good oval bone. Moved ok.

Junior (1)

1. Booth & Oddie’s Lundgarth Fly The Flag. Almost 8 mth old O/W dog, and litter brother to my BPIB. He is a lovely puppy just preferred the more together movement on his sister today. Lovely head and expression with well defined stop, occiput and correct ear. Another with a lovely front and correct front angulation, and good bone. Balanced front and rear angulation. Good ribbing and topline. Moved ok.

Post Graduate (3,1)

1. Bush’s Piasharn Rocka Rolla. 2 yr old B/W dog. Liked him for his overall balanced outline with each part flowing into the next. Correctly proportioned head with depth to his flews. Long neck into well laid back shoulder and good length to upper arm, good oval bone. Well sprung ribs carried well back on a correct topline to a short loin. Well muscled dog with a good bend of stifle and short hocks. He moved very well around the ring. BOB.

2. Radcliffe’s Sniperay Mattiboo Killer Queen. 3 yr old Lemon/W bitch. Liked her balanced outline. Beautiful head and expression with correct stop and depth to muzzle. Good angulation fore and aft, her ribs are carried well back on a good topline. She needs a touch more depth and width in forechest to complete the picture. Preferred the movement of 1.

1. Bush’s Piasharn Breaking The Law. 2 yr old O/W bitch, and sister to my BOB. Balanced in outline with correct head proportions and beautiful expression. Long neck into a good front assembly, ribbed well back to a short loin, not as developed in forechest as yet. Well bent stifle and good width to thighs. Moved ok but she wasn’t as forward on the move as her brother.

COCKER SPANIEL

Junior (2,1)

1. Walker’s Andalasia Gunfire. 16 mth old B/R dog. He has a beautiful head and kind expression with a dark eye. Square muzzle and distinct stop. Moderate length of neck into a good layback of shoulder. He tended to stand with a topline that sloped down from his shoulders to his tail, but it could have been the weather affecting him today. Moved ok.

Post Graduate (5,3)

1. Mason’s Leechbaby Hot Shoe Shuffle to Sandlauga. 2 yr old B/R bitch. What a smart girl she is, loved her outline which just flowed. Beautiful head and melting expression. Moderate neck which sits cleanly into a good layback of shoulder and return of upper arm. Level topline and a rounded bum. She has a good bend of stifle and low hocks. Moved out on a good stride and pushed my BOB hard but he just pipped it today on his movement.

2. Watt & Taylor’s Senoia A Song Of Ice And Fire. 2 year old black bitch. Lovely head and expression, square muzzle, distinct stop and correct ear set. Not the topline of 1 and tended to carry her tail a bit high. She was certainly enjoying her day but gave her handler a hard time.

Open (5,1)

1. Walton’s Annaside Lets Dance. 5 yr old black dog. Handsome boy with a balanced clean outline. Melting expression, dark eye, square muzzle and well chiselled in skull. Excellent front assembly, good neck that flowed into a level topline and correct tailset. Good bend of stifle and low hocks that drove him around the ring. Loved him on the move, such accurate footfall, and he never stopped wagging his tail. BOB.

2. Daniels Helluin Take Applause. 4 yr old gold dog. Another lovely boy with a classic outline. Lovely head and expression, correct low ear set. Balanced angulation fore and aft, good topline and tailset. Moved well around the ring.

3. Mason’s Sandlauga Candy Crush.
