Tibetan Spaniels

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge Tibetan Spaniels at their Premier Show, the exhibitors for graciously accepting their places, and the stewards for their assistance. I was honoured to have such a lovely entry and some difficult decisions.

Puppy (5)

Lovely class of raw babies

1st Castafiore Genesis (Moran & Prouve) 7.5 months Moderate size silver sable bitch, She has a small head, with well set ears, and good pigment. She won the class as I preferred her well-laid shoulders, with a good chest already developed. She is well ribbed and with a good rear which she used to her advantage on the move and is true in all directions holding her top line and carrying her tail over her back, correct harefeet. Best Puppy

2nd Castafiore Givenchy (Moran & Prouve) 7.5 month male, Similar comments to litter sister, Silver sable with a correct coat. He had well set ears on a small head with correct slight undershot bite, with good width to his muzzle. Held his topline well on the moved and a high set tail carried over back.

Junior Bitch (6/1)

1st Sommerlyst’s Vajra Vanita (Moran & Prouve) 15 month Black and White bitch, this was my surprise of the day and even at the start of the class she didn’t jump out at me, but to go over she is beautiful and her correct small head needs to be studied to be truly appreciated. She has a slightly domed skull, and good length and width to her muzzle which is welll cushioned, her ears are set well with a slight lift. Correct front with moderate bone and slight bow. Level topline with a good spring to her ribs which extend well back. Neat hare feet with feathering. Hocks are well let down and straight and she is quick and positive on the move. Pleased to award her BOB and to see her shortlisted in a strong group.

2nd Malia Mistletoe Kisses JW (Short) 18 months pale gold bitch. Very pretty head with high set pendant ears, her dark eyes are oval with dark rims and very expressive. She has a black nose with a good muzzle and cushioning. Her shoulders are well set, with a slight bow to her forelegs, she moves actively and free when settled on the move.

Post Graduate (3/1)

1st Velrok Razina of Madire (Leak) 3yr old pale red bitch of correct side. My notes say very honest girl. She has an appealing small head of correct proportions with good pigmentation. She is very sound to and from and in profile. Good shoulders and level top line which is well held on the move.

2nd Parloueve All I am At Malia (Short) 6yr old gold sable bitch. Not as settled today and tended to fly her ears on the move. She had a correct bite and oval dark eye, with a slight dome to her skull. Her shoulders are well laid and a level topline with high set tail. Moved actively and good in profile.

Open (8/2)

1st Ch Malia Summer Memories JW 6yr old femine gold bitch of moderate size. She has an attractive, pretty head with oval eyes and good pigmentation. She appealed to me to go over and on the move. Her shoulder are well set, and she has a good neck, slight bow to her front legs, level top line which was held on the move, moderate bend to stifle which allows her quick active movement. RBOB

2nd Castafiore Sevastyan (Moran & Prouve) 17 months gold masculine dog. He has a good expression with excellent pigment and his well-set ears carry fringing. His muzzle is blunt and there is width to his chin and he has a correct bite and dentition. A strong top line which is well held on the move, and his gait is active and free.
