Northwich & District Canine – 15th June 25

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this lovely friendly show. The weather was kind for most of the day, and with nice big in/out rings it was also possible for the dogs to get shade when waiting for their turn to be judged. A huge thank you to all of the exhibitors for entering some lovely dogs and to my fellow judges who sent some lovely specimens through to the group for me to judge. The one criticism I have is that I was surprised at how many exhibits lacked muscle tone which is something I like to see in a gundog.

1. Gleadsbury Mad About The Boy (House) Just over 12 month old male. Well proportioned masculine head with well placed ears of good length. Balanced in outline and angulation fore and aft. Shown in good coat. Well muscled for his age. Moved with reach and drive. RBOB

2. Daenerys Girl On Fire at Dexbenella (Nicklin) Another very nice youngster. Beautiful head with a pleasing expression. Strong neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Good depth and spring of rib. Presented in good coat. Moved well. Close up on 1 just preferred the overall outline of 1.

1. Gleadsbury It Is Destiny for Anacapa (Merry) 2yr old L/W male. Masculine in head with a keen expression. Well set ears with good length and feathering. Balanced in profile. Well angled front. Good length of rib with strong loin. Wide thigh and correct turn of stifle. Shown in good condition. Moved well around the ring with plenty of drive. BOB

1. Lundgarth Fly The Flag (Booth & Oddie) O/W bitch. 7.5 month old. Pleasing expression. Well defined stop. Neck flows well into topline. Deep in brisket. Ribs well back. Balanced in angles. Moved OK

2. Sonham Just Good Friends (ai) (Matthews) 8mnth old L/W b. Feminine head with good expression. Smart in outline with decent topline. Needs to settle on the move.

Junior (4,1)

1. Sharnphilly Dizzy Blonde at Linosa (Gates) 15mnth old O/W b with lots to like. Well defined stop showing the required dish-like appearance. Strong slightly arched neck flowing into strong topline. Balanced in front and rear angulation. Strong oval bone. Strong over loin. Good width of thigh. Moved well with drive and maintaining a strong topline. BOB

2. Sonham Just A Pretty Belle (ai) (Matthews) A very smart l/w 11 month b. Giving a lot away in this class but still holding her own. Lovely feminine head with correct proportions and stop. Well set ears. Clean in outline. Well laid shoulder. Deep in brisket. Good bone. Moved well with reach and drive and keeping a correct tail carriage. BP

1. Dappleline Chance for Anniezu (Weaver) 5.5 year old orange and white dog with ample substance. Strong head masculine head of correct proportions with a keen expression, Well placed shoulder. Strong topline. Good depth to chest. Ample bone of oval shape. Moved with good reach and drive. RBOB

Puppy (1,0)

1. Winterwell The Card Player (ai) (Samria). Quite a substantial boy for his age but everything in the right place. 10 mnth old solid liver male of excellent type, and in superb condition. Well muscled. Masculine in head and expression, good length of neck flowing into a strong topline. Presents a balanced outline with good angles fore and aft. Good depth of brisket with correct width between front legs allowing ample heart room. Ribs well back. Moved with purpose around the ring. BP, RBOB, PG1 and so pleased to see him go RBPIS.

Junior (2,1)

1. Orchidstar Tick Tok (Sielski) – Loved her. Really caught my eye. Feminine through and through yet still looks like she can do a full day’s work. Beautiful feminine head with a gorgeous expression with well-set ears. Well muscled arched neck flowing into a well-laid shoulder. Firm level topline with strong loin, correct angulation both front and rear presenting a balance picture, in excellent condition. Moved around the ring with an effortless gait. BOB, G3.

PG (2,1)

1. Pinseeker Lady Luck at Peakforest (Kania) Compact feminine 2yr old bitch. Pleasing feminine head with a kind eye. Muscular neck with slight arch. Well placed shoulders. Level topline with a strong loin. Correct angulation front and rear with a good turn of stifle. Deep chest and well sprung rib. Good muscle definition. Good coat. Moved well.

1. Sh Ch Orchidstar Bolts of Speed (Sielski) Another well muscled dog shown in excellent condition. 7 year old. masculine head with a kind expression. Strong neck flowing into a firm level topline. Good front and rear angulation. Good spring of rib which went well back. Correct depth of brisket. Moved around the ring like he owned it and definitely not showing his age. Just preferred overall outline of the Junior for BOB and the muscle tone of puppy for RBOB. This boy took a well deserved Best Veteran in Group later.

2. Ch Quintana Lunar Eclipse (Nixon) another feminine bitch who could do a day’s work. Well proportioned head with a kind expression. a slightly arched neck with a slight arch into well placed shoulders. Deep chest, well sprung rib with plenty of heart room, balanced in angles with a well turned stifle allowing her to move around the ring with plenty of drive.

Hungarian Vizsla

Puppy ( 1,0)

1. Martgarian Zantara (Gammon) – Just under 1yr old puppy bitch with lots to like. Pretty feminine head with defined median line. Kind dark eye. Moderate arched neck flowing into level top line. Nicely angled front assembly. Well sprung rib. Gorgeous russet colour coat. Enough bone with tight feet. Would have preferred a little more width to thigh but moved well.

1. Glenbrows Opera D'arte (Gammon) 11 month old bitch Correctly proportioned head with a kind expression. Strong arched neck. Well placed shoulder. Level topline. Brisket to elbow. Balanced in outline. Moved well with drive. Preferred the rear of her over puppy winner to take BP. RBOB

2. Vizslanya Vulkani (Mellish) 15mnth old dog. Moderately broad skull with correct length of muzzle. Moderate neck with slight arch. Good lay of shoulder. Sufficient bone. Nice tight feet. Good width to thigh. Moved well, just preferred overall balance of 1.

2. Silvestre Wednesday (Jones) 2.5 yr old bitch with feminine head with a kind eye. and ear placement, kind expression. Well sprung ribs going well back. Good forechest with a good spring of ribs. Good width of thigh. Not quite the balance of outline of 1. Moved OK.

1. Castledogley Firenze JW (Hardcastle & Bradley) 2.5 yr old compact bitch who is feminine throughout. Well proportioned head with a kind eye. Well set ears. Clean neck of moderate length which flowed into her well placed shoulders. Balanced angles front and rear. Good depth of brisket with ribs well sprung. Strong loin. Nice tight feet. Moved well with a flowing gait. BOB

2. Omri Ruda Szata (Imp Pol) (Binkowska) 5yr old substantial bitch of good colour. Correctly proportioned head with kind expression. Nice front and rear assembly with a good width of thigh. Well let down hock. Moved well with a level topline, just preferred overall balance of 1.

1. Miadsc Tropical Sunrise (Summerfield) Smart 2yr old bitch. Gorgeous head and expression. Good reach of neck. Very balanced in angles. good body proportions Correct amount of bone. Tight feet Good depth of brisket and spring of rib. Level topline. Decent coat texture. Moved well but carried tail a bit proud today. BOB

1. Shelanio in The Mood (Dickenson) A real baby enjoying her day out but still looking the part. Pretty head of moderate width and slightly diverging planes. Ears set just over eye level. Slightly arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Good outline in profile with a slight tuck up. Correct curl to coat. Well turned stifle, Webbed between toes. Moved well for a youngster. BP

2. Sikama Stargazing (Wilson) . another very nice youngster 8mth old dog. Similar comments apply although has slightly more length of back than 1. Moved very well but preferred coat of 1.

1. Rozebottel's Mario Tronti (Imp Nld) (Nelson & Snowdon) 2yr old male with lots to like. Pleasing head of correct proportions. Short muscular neck flowing into firm topline. Correct body proportions with oval bone and tight feet. Coat of good texture with desired curl. Moved well with purpose. BOB

1. Nelbekio Just The Ticket (Nelson) 2.5 yr old bitch, feminine head of correct proportions with equal length to width of skull. Arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Level topline. Tail set on well. Decent width of thigh and hocks well down. Good rustic coat with correct curls. Moved well around the ring. RBOB.

2. Mizani Dioro over Savio (Nelson) Almost 8yr old male but not showing age. Well proportioned head with correct planes and well placed ears. Arched neck leading to good front assembly. Smart balanced outline. Well turned stifle. Good curl to coat. moved OK just preferred overall picture of 1.

1. Stanegate Sweet Dreams at Zakby (Busby & Busby-Alner & Busby-Alner) 10 month old bitch. Stood alone but a worthy winner. She appealed to me on entering the ring. Gorgeous feminine head with high dome and good proportions. Arched neck flowing into firm topline. Well sprung rib going well back into strong loin. Balanced in angulation front and rear. Moved around the ring with such presence and with good reach and drive. BOB, BP, PG2

1. Fidelix Olympia for Atkaluna, Korthals Griffon (O'sullivan & Wiggins) 14 mnth old bitch. Good head proportions with decent furnishings. well proportioned body shape with length being slightly longer than height. Harsh coat with good undercoat. Balanced in angles. Moved well. RBAVImp

2. Fidelix Obsession, Korthals Griffon (Townsend) Litter brother to winner and showing similar attributes. Good moustache and beard. Coat having preferred harshness and density. Not as settled as the sister but could change places easily

1. Ansona Myriam, Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer (Taberer) Substantial bitch almost 2 yrs of age. Feminine in head with correct equal measurement of muzzle to skull. Well set ears of good length. Strong neck, good lay of shoulder, well off for bone. Correct height to length ratios with good forechest. Well ribbed. Strong loin. Moved well.

Strong neck flowing into level topline. Well muscled. Correct body height/length ratios. Moved well with reach and drive and correct footfall. Just preferred overall condition and movement of 1.

1. Glantraeth Ovation to Oktumi, Spaniel (Cocker) (Wildman) Blue Roan bitch of such quality. Gorgeous head with a melting expression. Ears of good length and set well. Neck flowing seamlessly into level topline. Compact body. Well ribbed and firm loin. Tight feet. Balanced angulation front and rear. Presented in immaculate condition and moved with such style and presence telling me that she was the one to pick. So pleased to see her go Best In Show.

2. Castlegolden Classy Girl JW,Retriever (Golden) (Magson) This girl also called out to me. She lives up to her name. Very feminine in head with a kind expression. Very balanced in profile and moved a dream around the ring showing soundness and drive.

4. Sh Ch Gunalt Wavelength JW ShCEx OSW, Weimaraner (West) 4.5yr old bitch who I’ve often admired from ringside and didn’t disappoint here. Feminine head with kind expression. Strong arched neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Moderate angulation both fore and aft. Well ribbed. Good depth of chest. Well muscled. Moved well with ample reach and drive.

4. Strettonhills Happy Hour, Retriever (Golden) (Grindey & Taylor & Tenn). A well balanced honest puppy who looked clean in outline. Gorgeous feminine head with a pleasing expression. Excellent reach of neck. Good front and rear assembly Level topline which she kept on the move. Well ribbed. In good coat. Tight feet. Moved well around the ring with good footfall.
