Critique for Golden Retrievers and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers

Retriever (Golden)

Puppy (8): best class of the day, really liked the four placed puppies.

1. Birkin-Green and Gripton’s Louellabrook Atlantic Star with Sansue, this most promising puppy really impressed me, has a look of quality, well grown and balanced and so well made all through with lovely head and eye, well made front with well laid back shoulders and good upperarm, super legs and feet, well ribbed, excellent topline standing and on the move and strong well developed hindquarters, moved so soundly out and back and covered the ground in profile, in the challenge I thought he was well worthy of BP and BOB and scored in conformation, movement and quality, one whose future I will follow, went on to G3 and PG1;

2. Knight and Cooke’s Haydengold Backchat

3. Mears’ Ambersun Winter Storm

Special Yearling (4):

1. Grindey, Tayor and Tenn’s Strettonhills Happpy Hour, 10 months feminine bitch, reserve in previous class but felt she stood out here, nicely constructed all through with very good legs, feet and topline, went well in profile;

2. Moore’s Tenfield Kipspringer with Auryngra, great temperament, super legs and feet, just preferred balance of 1;

3. Low’s Bernmags Miss Chanel

Post Graduate (2):

1. Moore’s Purbarn Friends Together with Auryngra, pleasing head and eye, well bodied with good rib and short loin, excellent topline held on the move, went soundly and happily;

2. Davis’ Lynste Midas Touch, would prefer better front assembly but has very good topline, pleasing legs and feet and strong hindquarters with good width of thigh;

Limit (2):

1. Fleet and Webb’s Waterbabies Sonic Boom to Easbury and Hectson, this one presented a very pleasing outline standing, excelled in good legs and feet, well angulated and muscled hindquarters, moved soundly;

2. Oldring’s Fairwinds Sky Full of Stars over Flaxengold, another of pleasing overall type, shown in good condition, pleasing overall outline but moved rather close behind;

Open (1):

1. Smith’s Goldmarker Luminess, pleasing head and dark eye, well boned with good feet, excellent topline held on the move, good width of thigh, well angulated behind, moved soundly;
