Clumber Spaniels

Limit (1):

1. Tilston’s Maursett Menelaus, 22 months male of very good type, charming personality, large square head of medium length, good eye, well boned, well sprung ribs, pleasing hindquarters, moved well fore and aft with good drive, had the edge over his kennelmate for BOB;

Open (1):

1. Tilston’s Stonielea Toast, three years male of pleasing overall type, good bone, long body which is well ribbed, moved soundly, preferred overall picture and quality of his kennelmate who scored strongly in hindquarters;

Field Spaniels

This entry was supported by the Field Spaniel Society; thank you to the exhibitors for their excellent entry – the classes were full of quality Fields which was much appreciated by myself.

Puppy (3): two lovely puppies here, turned out they were brother and sister. Lots of promise for the future.

1. Osborn’s Elgert Blackpink, very promising bitch of 8 months, black as her name suggests, pleased for overall type and balance, pleasing head and good eye shape, good flat bone, good length of rib leading to strong loin, tail never stops as she is such a showgirl, moved on a good stride going true fore and aft and really driving off the hocks, BP;

2. Crow’s Elgert Bling Bling, another of clear promise, liver male of excellent type, correct bone, pleasing head and eye, strongly padded feet, good length of rib, strong hindquarters with well let down hock, moved soundly with drive, will follow the progress of both;

3. Rhodes’ Viva Esperanza Du Rieu-Grand (imp Fra)

Junior (1):

1. E Blackpink

Post Graduate (3):

1. Woodhouse’s Gadhelic Sunshine Girl at Halbadier, this bitch of 20 months really impressed me, full of breed type and a lovely Field all through, correct head with good chiselling and dark eye, very well made front with long neck and well laid back shoulders, correct bone and length of rib, well made hindquarters with well let down hock which enabled her to drive from behind, although lacking a little coat it was in excellent condition and didn’t matter a jot, it just drew even more attention to her correct conformation, totally sound on the move where she maintained her static outline and had the correct long, unhurried stride, sure will title;

2. Trevor’s Trevorsilk Blue Velvet, just over two years, another liver, just over 2 years of pleasing overall type and outline, pleasing head and overall make and shape, just preferred the feet and hindquarters of 1;

3. Hepburn’s Irisbel From Now On

Limit (2):

1. Moore’s Fantastic Field Shine Like A Diamond at Gadhelic (imp Fin), really typical Field, lovely bitch full of breed type and correct substance, head definitely appealed with good eye shape, pleasing through neck and shoulders, correct bone and has the length of rib and loin to give overall balance, strong hindquarters with well let down hocks, another who looks set to press for a title;

2. Wheeler’s Elgert King For A Day, black of great character and outlook, shown in the most fabulous coat and condition, very pleasing head with correct chiselling, correct bone and excellent feet, keeps his outline on the move, just preferred the angulation fore and aft of 1;

Open (4): three lovely and worthy title holders headed this class.

1. Hazell’s Sh Ch Nadavin Expectation of Vraibleu, liver bitch who is so full of type and quality, the first thing that strikes you is her beautiful head and eye, long neck set into well placed shoulders, correct bone and good feet, has the correct balance with ¾ rib and strong loin, shown in good coat and condition with excellent musculature, true on the move, fore and aft going with real drive behind, in profile she portrays the long, unhurried stride, pleasure to judge and award BOB;

2. Osborn’s Sh Ch Elgert Private Dancer, this liver is another out of the top drawer and so difficult to make the decision, has a charming personality and is a real showgirl, super for type and breed balance, most pleasing head, clean neck and shoulders, correct bone, excellent topline and hindquarters, moves true fore and aft and in profile covers in the ground in the long, unhurried stride so typical of the breed, will have many more wins ahead of her, RBOB;

3. Moore’s Sh Ch Elgert China Girl For Gadhelic

RBOB Sporting Stakes: this class was so well supported with a fabulous array of typical examples of their breeds.

1. Holehan’s Loganrish Tiger Lilly Pearl, Irish Setter of lovely type and quality, nothing exaggerated, has the correct balance for the breed with most pleasing head and eye, well made front, good legs and feet, gently sloping topline to excellent hindquarters, moved true fore and aft and looked so well in profile, good luck for the future;

2. Addoo’s Reulemill Quacajack, JRT of pleasing size and overall proportions, pleasing head, bone and feet, strong well made hindquarters and well set on tail, plenty behind the tail, moved with real drive behind and carried himself well in profile, a real showman;
