It was a pleasure to judge for the excellent Bridgend & District Open show. The show is run very efficiently with a small but hard-working team at the helm. The show finished in good time and a happy atmosphere prevailed throughout the day.
From a quality line-up, I chose the Fox Terrier (Smooth) Ch. Kanix Rosemarie, for BIS. A beautiful female from any angle. So very pleasing for size, shape and function. Moved out well, in super condition and showing her heart out. A pleasure to award her the top spot. RBIS was the Min. S/H Dachs, Beachdax Bop To The Top. A pleasing youngster for size and overall shape. Gave a good account of himself going around the ring and made a worthy runner-up. I’m sure he has a good future ahead of him. BPIS was the Samoyed, Rosskaja Ginato Clementino. A most promising 11 month old female. Mature in body and has a nicely balanced outline, that she keeps on the move. Scores in head shape and appealing expression. Moderate angulation front and rear, quality bone and holds her tail well. Correct dense, double coat. Must have a bright future. Hot on her heels was the RBPIS winner, the Fox Terrier (Smooth) Kanix Stafford, pushed the winner all the way. Son of the BIS winner today and shares many of her breed attributes. Another star of the future for this clever kennel, no doubt. BVIS was the popular 10 year old Norfolk Terrier, Ralph Of House Nash At Raphiggy. I had the pleasure of putting him through earlier in the day and still impressed in the final decisions. Lovely veteran of great appeal that thoroughly deserved this award today. A really great little showman. RBVIS and just losing out by a whisker, a most impressive Tibetan Mastiff, Ch. Richearon Palden. A noble dog of great quality, presence and condition. Very good head with correct stoic expression. Super body. Moved out soundly and looked just great.
Thank you Bridgend and to my excellent stewards who kept the ring to time, I had a lovely day culminating in a super collection of dogs for the final awards.
