Coventry & District Gundog Society

Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

P (6, 2a): 1 BP Rodgers’ Eusanit Redora, pretty bitch of 7 months, nice shape & stands on tidy round feet. Good front assembly, strength through the forearms, correct length of body, good spring of rib & correct bend of stifle. Carrying a few puppy pounds but will slim down with maturity into her lovely frame; 2 Shore’s Briztollie I Have A Dream, dog of 9 months, grown up in size, nice expression, holds a level topline, moved well if a little close behind; 3 Townsend-Bean’s Arthundur Firecracker.

J (6): 1 Westwood & McDonald’s Eusanit Loved And Lost, nearly 16 months dog who won the class on movement. Correct proportions to head & skull, tidy round feet, brisket down to elbow, well angulated quarters, strength through the rear pasterns. A little heavy over shoulders & ribs today; 2 Gibson’s Delphox Guiser, 16 months dog with a handsome head. Definitely masculine with strength of bone, good tidy feet, well angulated quarters, in good coat with well feathered tail. Could have a little more angulation to the forehand which would benefit his front movement; 3 Westwood’s Travelda’s Genevieve Pine avec Eusanit (Imp).

PG (5, 3a): 1 RBOB Minshull’s Cedarlake Golden Hind, coming up 2 years male, very smart, has presence & is quite vocal with it! Brisket down to elbows, good neck into shoulders, level topline, good turn of stifle & well-muscled quarters. In good coat with well feathered tail. Attentive to his handler; 2 Pate’s Danehaven Hackett, nearly 2 years dog, higher on the leg, head with correct proportions, stands on tidy feet, level topline. Needs to get into his stride otherwise can pace.

O (8, 2a): 1 BOB Roffey’s Camusmor Ca Canny with Acanuck, mature bitch, nice to go over, sound, appeals standing & moving with nothing overdone. Good front assembly, quality to the coat, good rear angulation & moved well fore & aft. Upon reading my catalogue, I was unaware that I had awarded her well before!; 2 Rogers’ Eusanit Peaky Blinder, coming into his veteran years but you would never know it, smart boy, good spring of rib, correct rear angles. Moved ok if a little close behind; 3 Westwood’s Ir Sh Ch Eusanit Proper Job JW.

Clumber Spaniel

J (2, 1a): 1 BOB Guy’s Suelynda Dream Dreamer to Jahanghir, powerful 13 month old boy, keen for his bait & very head strong, good topline & good ribbing, correct bend of stifle, displayed good movement once settled. Could be stronger through the rear pasterns.

YKC Members’ Handling

6-11 Years (4,2a): 1 Ava Oddie, did a sterling job handling a Pointer puppy, placed her well in the stack & managed to negotiate the hold confidently as I assessed her dog. Moved out well with precision & flair, assertively & kindly correcting her bouncing charge; 2 Eliza Darwesh, very competent handler with a biddable Labrador Retriever. Performed her patterns well all the while being attentive to her dog & aware of my presence.

12-17 Years (1): 1 Holly Whitehead, quietly encouraged her 7 months Hungarian Vizsla, without being too in her space. She was precise in her foot placements on the stack & mindful of the floor’s surface so her puppy didn’t slip. She has a calm presence & a very considerate nature for the wellbeing of her puppy. Certainly a very capable, unflappable handler who would be able to bond & get the best out of any dog.
